The Unreal Odyssey by cushycode 2016-09-03T03:10:00

In the beginning it was really a little bit confusing, but I quickly got the hang of navigation (even though when you turn with your ship the spyglass view rotated in the other direction which caused quite a lot of difficulty).

But generally an interesting idea... The slight tediousness of the gameplay simulates well how difficult it must have been in that times to navigate.

Music would have been nice too to add to the atmosphere and as someone said before... increasing the range of vision would be helpful or adding a visible fog to explain why everything just pops out of nowhere :)

Invent the Wheel by Delicious Code 2016-09-04T14:44:00

Wow very cool idea. And a perfect fit with the theme :) Super simple mechanics but a lot of fun. Music and graphics are really nice and wow for the online feature.

On Fire by dietzribi 2016-09-10T13:04:00

Wow this is one crazy game... Really good idea and interesting mechanic. It was really fun to play! Also congratulations to being features on the Newgrounds frontpage :)

A Guillotine by isaque.picao.sanches 2016-08-30T13:49:00

Very clever twist - even more amazing that it somehow made sense (or in a certain senseful way un-sense) before the twist... Amazingly well executed - and I didn't expect that there would be another twit in the end... A real piece of art... though I'm not sure if it would deserve the label "game"...

But I have the slight feeling that you might not care so much about "labels" ;)

A Guillotine by isaque.picao.sanches 2016-08-30T14:43:00

@isaque.picao.sanches The comment section of a Ludum Dare might not be the most fitting place but I can't leave this game behind without saying at least one more thing:
If what is described in the game is really not or only partly fiction: There's a way out of any destructive vicious circle you might be involved in - and that is Jesus Christ. He doesn't care who you are or what you did - and he is the only one who can really help (drugs or sex, even art as an outlet cannot make that kind of emptiness go away).

I am honestly amazed by your piece of art but at the same kind of worried about you as a person...

Flight of Daedalus by Aaranos 2016-09-06T15:43:00

For some reason I had no sound/music at all while playing (which would have been the thing I'd have critized). But it was still a nice little game. You could also try to make the enemies actually move around and have some kind of behaviour...

Going up to the roof and jumping without all the materials should result in a funny (or maybe not so funny D:) game over screen.

Foor by bigoss73 2016-09-03T06:20:00

Really interesting puzzle game. Kept me engaged for quite some while - and the music was also nice and kept me motivated :D

I guess it's because of the short time in the game jam - but in the last few stages the new features came in quite quick succession... Another level after the red/blue barriers had been introduced before introducing the green ones would have been better for the pacing I guess :)

I liked the challenge level, which required you to try out t different approaches and not just the straight forward ones... Well done!

Ghosts In The Shell by xgeovanni 2016-08-30T12:20:00

Really well written entry.
If there's ever an updates version I would be curious about other endings (whatever they might be)...
I really like the kinds of stories where you have to piece together the story yourself using diary entries etc - so I enjoyed it a lot!

Rampage of Technology by kokiriandco 2016-09-03T15:42:00

The artwork and especially the intro is great... I also love the CRT effect.
But the gameplay needs some polishing - like some people before I also got stuck at the two TVs... and aiming with the swing of the tape was quite hard to control. But I liked that they all had different characteristics and abilities :)

Floppi's Relic Run by epb9000 2016-09-03T15:26:00

Nice atmosphere (I like the music!) and nice little game in general.

Is that supposed to be the Japanese character for "old" on the disc? 古 <- that one?

Village Store by euske 2016-09-10T12:54:00

Great fun little game :) Nice combination of fitting objects into a restricted space and doing math at the same time. I also liked the very retro style of the font.. Reminds me of old NES games :)

By the way: I'm also in Japan - in Osaka (though I'm not Japanese, but German)

This is one amazing game. Very polished, amazing art style. And great atmosphere.
I'm also curious about the source code, so please release it soon!

ARMED N' READY!! by djdudes100 2016-09-04T14:15:00

The voice acting was funny :D
But the game itself was quite hard to control, as one person above I could also only win by cheating (since swordmen and archers didn't count towards the limit).
If you work on the idea and make it more solid in general it could become a decent game :)

The Get Up by Davision 2016-08-30T12:28:00

Sorry, but how do you play this game?

Allan by Damdoshi 2016-09-06T15:34:00

Great old school atmosphere, music, graphic fits well together.

The Machine by jeremyfa 2016-09-03T03:33:00

Great story, simple but great visual style... I'm also very curious how it turns out if you should ever continue it (My Twitter: @kfischer_okarin).

A little logic issue maybe towards the end:
Not sure how well the ancient computer can navigate and interpret the internet already after connecting, but I would have expected that he could just search online for the term smartphone and would maybe understand what it is. But maybe he's not yet used to the internet yet :)

NEONAUT by pixelpotions 2016-09-04T14:31:00

Great atmosphere with the old 8-bit music while you are alone in space. The graphics are also great and fitting :)

Nice little game :) But unfortunately I died at 30000 credits since I was too greedy and wanted to go on immediately.

<GAME NAME> by Patacorow 2016-09-04T14:52:00

Wow this is really amazing - I love the art style and the game engine (controls etc) so far :). I would love to see a actual game with this as a foundation!
Keep up the great work!!

Project Meteor by kfischer_okarin 2016-08-30T14:20:00

@cushycode @jeremyfa Yes you are right... The art styles don't fit together...
In a post-compo version (which I can't yet tell if I will have time for it) that would be one of the first things to be fixed... Since I just started out doing pixel art and the small ones already took me quite a lot of time ;)

Thanks for trying out and the feedback. Also, particle effect would be indeed the right solution for the drilling

Project Meteor by kfischer_okarin 2016-09-02T15:54:00

@kokiriandco You have to choose it at the ship with Enter (so it appears in the top right corner) and then you can go to a place on the asteroid and drill with Enter... Strange if that doesn't work :O

Jealous Potter and the Ancient Rock by Millefey 2016-08-30T10:25:00

It's a really nice game.
I don't know what the "current state" of block breaker games is (didn't play any since the original Arkanoid) - but there are quite some nice variations to the genre (breakable objects influenced by physics, not only the upper side of the bat but also sides that are facing left and right)...

I also liked the story, music and light-hearted atmosphere of the storytelling bits in between. Really well done!

About improvements: I had the feeling that I didn't really have a lot of influence on the movement of the ball (except for receiving the ball with the arms instead of the head) - but usually by moving the bat in the same moment as the ball touches it you can give the ball some additional spin...

Also a button to restart and/or a speedup button would also be useful: Restart since the ball can get stuck in very rare cases (it did so in my case in the stage with the big pot - It got stuck between the two black blocks at the very top. And sometimes the ball has a really flat angle so you need to wait a long time until you can actually do something - in which case a speedup button would be useful.

Thanks for the game! And keep up the good work!
