Didn't understood...
@Geckoo1337 thank you :)
Too bad I'm but a mere mortal and can't play them game ;)
It's got some artistic value, it's a shame there wasn't much gameplay value (or am I really missing something here?)
Very clever twist - even more amazing that it somehow made sense (or in a certain senseful way un-sense) before the twist... Amazingly well executed - and I didn't expect that there would be another twit in the end... A real piece of art... though I'm not sure if it would deserve the label "game"...
But I have the slight feeling that you might not care so much about "labels" ;)
@kfischer_okarin
:)
@AnaglyphCoding you could say it's a text-based exploration game, navigation is the mechanic, making sense of it is both a puzzle and your goal, and beginning somewhat at the middle of the text gives you an initial choice: going up or down.
@isaque.picao.sanches The comment section of a Ludum Dare might not be the most fitting place but I can't leave this game behind without saying at least one more thing:
If what is described in the game is really not or only partly fiction: There's a way out of any destructive vicious circle you might be involved in - and that is Jesus Christ. He doesn't care who you are or what you did - and he is the only one who can really help (drugs or sex, even art as an outlet cannot make that kind of emptiness go away).
I am honestly amazed by your piece of art but at the same kind of worried about you as a person...
it's not fiction, but it's also not factual. I could say it's one of the best headspace self-portraits I think I've made yet.
the fact that it moved you that much, that it made you so unconfortable an anxious - as it is meant to - means it worked as an art piece for you, and that makes me happy.
thank you for your concern. but at this point, even if I wanted, not even Jesus could save me. as Yahweh Himself would say: I am who I am. I've made peace with that.
I took a look at the unique script. It's really cool in order to create a weird story "step by step". Your explanation was really freaky. Well done for a project which has been developped in a few hours. I don't forget it. Thank you because you shared with us an experience - a bad trip - but an experience. Bye sinner. May the Almighty forgive you from your sins :)
You've said it yourself, weird is probably the best word to describe this.
It actually took me a while to figure out how it works, that you can actually scroll, that the text simply reveals itself sequentially, rather than randomly. I somehow didn't notice the neighboring text was suddenly readable, I probably focused too much on the already-revealed part.
I don't know how much of the story actually happened, all I know is it was a fascinating read, howewer disturbing it was. Though minimalistic, and said to be done in a very short amount of time, I enjoyed this trip into one's (probably yours) mind, in a weird way.
I'm not sure if I want to read it again, once is probably enough.
