Pretty good start for a game like this. Story seemed interesting, too. Good job :)

aree-vanier 2016-08-30 14:08

Fun and well made!
The reminds me of the old game Zork.
No bugs to my knowledge, well done.

xclementx 2016-08-30 14:20

Thanks for the blue :) Everything around me is Yellow now ! Quite fun and absorbing.

bushmango3 2016-08-30 14:47

It is a good game and I like the story.

vaiaphraim 2016-08-30 14:58

Nice terminal emulation, graphically. I initially "feared" that I had to guess and write input manually - so the provided options to select were very welcome :)

The puzzles inbetween were a nice change after learning something new about the world the game takes place in.

All in all, a fun game, and a nice take on the theme :)

leondryaso 2016-08-30 15:07

The story was great, I enjoyed it. The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger though :D

jeremyfa 2016-08-30 15:15

@leondryaso Ah right :D Unfortunately I was running out of time so could not go further. I hope I will find some time to continue the story :)

@Aree Vanier Thanks! I will check out "Zork" :)

@Vaiaphraim Yea, I hope I can improve the puzzles on an updated (post-jam- version :)

Sooo cool. Great entry.

Almost perfectly executed! It's so well polished. I liked the story, although because you are trying to be cryptic/mysterious it also becomes a bit hard to follow. Shame you weren't able to finish it in time.

I really how well the timing of the text is tuned. Such a small detail to get right in 72 hours.

Adding a puzzle to break up the storytelling was a great idea, but the puzzles are far too simple to be interesting. Obviously, understandable with the time constraint.

seleb 2016-08-30 23:07

I played up until the third module "puzzle", but it got stuck on a blank blue screen when I messed up. I was going to retry from the start because it was an interesting story so far, but waiting for each line to finish before advancing was going to take too long. It would be nice if you could click to advance text immediately.

avalanche-games 2016-08-30 23:21

Looks great and story is interesting eventhough it seemed mostly linear.

kacperski1 2016-08-31 00:42

Daaaaaamn, why the cliffhanger!? :P
Great story, cool puzzles. It could also use some sound to make a better effect on the player, but I understand it's hard to do in such a short amount of time.
If you ever happen to finish this game, please message me on Twitter (@kacperski1), I wanna know how the story ends :D

rafaskb 2016-08-31 01:10

Interesting story, but now I'm curious to know the end of it haha

It would be awesome if you always had more than one option to communicate, to give a sense of control over the story.

abdullah-elsayed 2016-08-31 02:38

That was interesting.. waiting the full story maybe with in game play that time :)

quicklyer 2016-08-31 05:10

Very very nicely done! Easy to understand gameplay sections with no need to tutorialize.

Super cool visual effects: the fading in/out, the really smooth animation, the timing on the drawn text. I liked the font and color choices too.

Also really intriguing story. Humans as “one of the few/only successful” civilizations is a very interesting theme for an astronomy nerd like myself. Would love to see more.

lonelyvertex 2016-08-31 06:59

I really do hope you will finish this, that end! I want to know how it ends!

I really like the combination of text game with some slight logic mini games! Interesting story! Nicely done.

tomisoka 2016-08-31 07:17

Nice game concept!
I would like to play "full" version based on this "demo". So continue developing this and don't forget to add more than only one option.

kapricornmedia 2016-08-31 07:27

Great work! interesting simple solution to a mysterious futuristic story

joemid 2016-08-31 20:55

Great little text game! Can't wait for the long form!

volcanicgiraffe 2016-08-31 22:52

prison.js - sounds promising. Some ambient sounds could help to complete the atmosphere and the narration.

dertraveler 2016-09-03 03:33

Great story, simple but great visual style... I'm also very curious how it turns out if you should ever continue it (My Twitter: @kfischer_okarin).

A little logic issue maybe towards the end:
Not sure how well the ancient computer can navigate and interpret the internet already after connecting, but I would have expected that he could just search online for the term smartphone and would maybe understand what it is. But maybe he's not yet used to the internet yet :)

eggplant 2016-09-05 00:24

Very intriguing. Please continue it!

csanyk 2016-09-14 04:12

The narrative was pretty interesting, but way too linear. I'd like to see where this goes, but it needs more decisions to feel like a proper game.

jeremyfa 2016-09-19 12:43

@csanyk Yea, as mentioned in the description, the story is far from being finished. Ideally, it would need much more "branches", but that goes beyond this LD :)
