I watched you code this on twitch, and I have to say it has turned out an awesome game. Well played.

I watched you code this on twitch, and I have to say it has turned out an awesome game. Well played.
One of the best gamemaker games ive ever seen. Not quite hyperlight drifter though.
This game is fantastic, and everyone should sit in for a few rounds. I've been pretty active on chat, and what I've got based on what you've built is... "MOAR PLZ." The gameplay, while intentionally simple, still feels like there's room to include more features. Still, as is, it's really fun. The game is decently bug free (and for this media, that's surprising) The graphics are simple, but it works for this. Thank you for this title.
I like that this game stands out from the rest by being one that is played on Twitch through chat. I will be the first to admit that I do not spend much time on Twitch as I would rather play games myself than watch others. About the only time I get on Twitch is during a Ludum Dare, so I did not even think about this as being possible. It would be nice to see it possible expanded with additional building types and additional commands, but for LD, this is a very good start, and I did enjoy giving it a try.
The fact that other comments are offering such positive constructive feedback is testament to how immediately addicting, fun, and engaging this game is. So simple, so intuitive, so good. Great job.
Loving that we're seeing games like this with Twitch integration in Ludum Dare, very impressive in the time scale! Really lovely simple to pickup game, can see this going far if development is continued! Great work! :-)
I played this game a lot and i will play more! Really cool idea and execution, well balanced and rewarding when you win or pull off some cool tactical maneuver. Definitely the best game i have played so far in this Ludum Dare edition. It's also nice that Shaun hangs out in chat and participates in maches or answers questions about game.
Watched you make this over the compo, you've added some cool additional features post-jam, although they're not part of the final entry, it shows how complex this game could get! It was very entertaining to see it played by so many people and the concept works so great, reminiscent of twitch plays pokemon and everything that that spawned. Great job!
Simply amazed by this - concept, integration with Twitch and how fun it is to play, awesome job!!
Twitch games are always so inventive, even when they game itself is simple, like with this one. The competitive nature of this game really makes the this game different to Twitch Plays games.
How I see it, Twitch Plays games are all about bringing the commands from the chat window into the game. In this, though, the game is brought to the chat window, since everything you type will be visible to your opponents (and with lag, often a long time before they're actually executed). Gaming the chat window in this way really elevates the game beyond the simplistic gameplay of the main screen.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to form any alliances with other tribes in the time I was playing, but I'll check back later, and see if it's possible with different groups of players. If any of you have managed to pull it off, please let me know!
I have never seen anyone make a Twitch game for Ludum Dare, so this existing is crazy! It's extremely addicting and fun to play, and it has a whole lot of depth for such simple mechanics. I would love to see a little bit more depth in the mechanics though, giving players more options to express their skill. Great work!
First time play Twitch game. Never seen a game like this. So much fun!
Nice game dude!
I realy like your game! It's so much fun to fight against the other chat users.
Definitely the most fun I've had so far. Fantastic achievement.
Dude I think you seriously have something here. Companies have been spending millions trying to figure out how to make a great twitch game where users can interact and you did it in 48. You should have two modes. The one you have so that every streamer can just leave their stream running for their fans. Then a second mode that is like streamer verses the chat. Where the streamer can spawn things for the chat to fight so instead of chat versus each other the streamer can log on for 1-2 hours and be them versus the chat. There could even be another mode that spawns things based on donations or subscriptions or follows. SO much potential. I think there are going to be a lot of people trying to copy thing.
Crazy addictive, very simple commands, but the lag makes it very thrilling to play, watching with one eye the video and with the other one the chat to see who is currently attacking who.
Absolutely love it, had a blast playing it, great game!
Uber idea. I'm loosing every time :D I'm not sure about the map balance (islands have limited amount of trees available quick), but in general i'm impresed.
This is just great! Good Idea, and good execution! Congrats.
This was an awesome idea. I keep seeing all of these interesting implementations of social aspects of the small world theme, but this game gets credit for actually conducting a real simulation on twitch viewers. I wasted away way more time playing this than I realized! Giving general commands to your villager to try and encourage them to do specific actions made the game feel a bit like herding cats. This sounds like it would be a bad thing, but its surprisingly fun to sort of shepherd your villagers around instead of exerting direct control. Its also quite interesting how the stream lag from the twitch chat commands actually makes the game more intense.
Overall, this is one of the most unique and innovative entries I've seen so far!
hey man really awesome game! ive spent quite a bit of time on twitch playing this one, its been cool to see it evolve post-jam. there already seems to be a pretty solid following and thats cool because there is always someone on twitch to play it with. i really like the direction you went with the theme, and making a twitch powered game was ambitious and innovative. also shoutout to snakegg i believe it was who did the music because it is fantastic and really fits the game perfectly. the way you have balanced a game with simple rules is impressive. you have made something really great, nice job!
Played it a lot - creative gameplay - multiplayer - great game !
Great game overall. I erally love the idea of letting twitch chat play.
(Could really do with some form of trading system, though)
The concept of this game is amazing. Twitch lag gives every command more meaning, "do I attack now and risk leaving my castle undefended"
This is seriously one of the best LD games I have ever seen and probably ever will see. The commands are easy to use and understand, you somehow made the lag a part of the game and the game is always being advertised due to the fact that the site always shows the active streams.
It doesn't require a separate download or even another website which makes the game available to a wider variety of users. Plus, the users will never have to update a client as all the updates happen within the stream.
I can't even state how many times I have played this game. Really enjoyed it and I hope that I can see more games like this in the future.
It's a good and very innovative game. I wish there could be more games like yours on the market (FYI Beam has way less latency than Twitch). However i don't think it's fair. You keep working on your game and the only 'playable' version of it is the post-jam version..
The only way to see what you did is to get Gamemaker and to modify the sourcecode of it. I won't rate your entry but really nice game.
This game is great and very creative! I had a ton of fun playing it. Unfortunately there aren't a ton of people in the twitch viewing area so it's usually just 1 on 1 fighting. But great stuff!
Really cool game... The art is nice and the fact that it is played on twitch makes it even better. It seems to work really well and is fun to join in. And I even managed to win a battle with smaller army :D. Great job overall! Also I feel like they should really make category on Twitch just for games like this, cause it is fun to play.
This is cute and innovative. I wanted to create my own tribe of super-men but, alas I got too hasty on my attack on blue...
Very cool game, well made and very fun to watch/play
Pretty cool! Very well done, nice IA. I liked the system of orders by commands. I attacked too early :P Nice graphics too
Cool idea! I was thinking about something similar but never seen it actually done before.
I love the game, its spirit, appearance and pvp aspect, chat tricks (e.g. type "!aftack" instead of "!attack"). But I don't like the fact that it's on the main page everyday. It's just not fair for the rest of 2982 entries. Hope @pov can do something about this.
The game itself is very well implemented. Had like ~20 full plays and not tired yet
I love this game! Really fun to watch and play, keep going with it!
This is super fun! I just wish there more people around to play!
This is really amazing. I'm glad you guys are continuing to work on it, as this has some real potential.
Very nice concept, very innovative for a LD game. Sometimes are laggy, maybe to many people playing simultaneously. I love this entry, thanks for share! Congratulations
Why have you rated no games!
Inclusion of the game jam version is required. Rated all ones until fixed. You don't need to broadcast the jam version, but having a download so we can broadcast it is needed.
I don't have the money to afford Game Maker Studio 2, could you upload the source code as a project, because I can't import projects in trial version, but I can open projects :) If yes, thank you very, very much.
