cool Idea. The Design fits good.

I'm not entirely sure what the goal of the game is. I tried highlighting different combinations of musicians, and some of the music definitely seemed in sync - but I'm no musician. What am I supposed to do?

fasterthanlime 2017-12-05 14:19

I thought I found two kindred souls sitting next to each other but.. after many permutations tried it was mostly cacophonous :)

I wish I had that idea, nicely done!

Super cool idea, Musics haha and nice design ! GG ;)

steffan 2017-12-05 21:13

@cammy Yes, 3 of the sausophones are playing a tune that matches. You have to listen carefully to work it out. It is tricky!

jordan-neff 2017-12-05 23:48

I really like the idea of matching up the musicians, I just wish there was more variety to the instruments. Also, I'm not sure if the ones I matched up were correct or not, so perhaps having some confirmation would help.

steffan 2017-12-06 09:51

@jordan-neff If you lit the 3 correct musicians, there is confirmation. Keep trying! :D I wanted one of every orchestral instrument to begin with but ran out of time to build them all! Maybe in an update one day.....

Short answer: no! I couldn't! Interesting, novel concept though

samusoidal 2017-12-12 02:45

I wasn't quite able to match them up, you'd have to have a pretty good ear. The graphics were great and the music (though I didn't hear all of it) promised to be fantastic. Interesting gameplay mechanic as well.

Really neat concept! I thought I found the musicians playing in harmony, but there wasn't a 'win' screen to be sure. It's possible that I didn't find the correct match though. Thanks for sharing.

Graphics are really great. I loved the style. Your concept sketches in your post looked really interesting too. I would love to see all those characters in game. Gameplay though, no, I didn’t manage to find the right guys. Not sure if I even got close. Maybe if you’d add some sort subtle hint if player has chosen right musician so that those of us that aren’t musically inclined could play the game also.

zirrrus 2017-12-25 15:59

Very interesting concept. I don't have an ear for music at all and didn't get far but I can appreciate the idea and execution.

naca 2017-12-25 17:31

Very innovative concept, I don't remember any similar music games. Although a bit difficult for a non-musician, I've managed to solve it :D Minimalist style works pretty good and the whole game is short but enjoyable. A few more levels/songs would be nice now that we are not subject to the tight deadline of the jam.

I really like the idea, the only thing I think this game is missing is some feedback to the player, maybe having the ability to selection a couple and then click a button for confirmation (giving a hint on if we are on the right track or not) Pretty good in general though :)

conrad123 2017-12-25 18:06

I really like this idea. Maybe if the different instruments were playing roles that were a little more obviously different, it would become more about ear and skill than luck. Keep working on this one, and you could have something really cool.

prodigalson 2017-12-25 18:19

I was looking forward to see how well my ears are trained but founded hard to tell when the notes were in harmony. Perhaps I need better ears to hear this type of instruments.

supr 2017-12-27 09:11

Great idea! but pretty hard to find harmonized ones
