Good art, the jump is a bit strange but overall it seems like a very good 8-bit idea :D
So funny, so beautiful mechanichs. Congratz! :)
I love the game boy aesthetic and soundtrack! the gameplay is good and I absolutely love the cannon. Great job!
Great game, the graphics are awesome, the sound effects are so good, the canon mechanic and the recharge are so satisfying especially when you break the glass!
Again, this is so great. I found the level design to be very clever. Also the added amount of stress of being in a cannon and watching my energy get drained at a alarming rate was a nice touch. I did find it a little difficult to identify what I was able to interact with, but wasn't a huge hassle. Good work.
this game is very cool! Very precise controlls, this game is made for speedrunners. But i got fps drops. Its me or its game? And some levels are too much precise demanding (two rotating sawmills). Anyway I love it! I love this challenging and seamless gameplay. Rated highly
very nice effects and mood!
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't enter chargers. I tried pressing Up while next to them, overlapping them, and jumping near them, but nothing seems to work. Otherwise, this game looks incredible! I love the charging mechanic, which is similar to the main mechanic in my LD game, but the art totally blew me away! The animations are smooth and the title screen really draws you in. Fantastic job!
Where do I start! The game is so smooth and enjoyable. I love the constant background music and overall the concept is really dope. Gonna play again later for sure.
The design and the green color scheme are awesome! Had a great time playing! Going to play the download version as wellto enjoy it even more. Good luck
Wow, just wow! Perfect score right here, everything is just perfect! I don't really adore the control buttons, but that's me.
Very cool retro style! The idea of being a battery to keep charged and having to chose what to do with your power is cool because it is simple to understand. Maybe the controls are a bit too rigid, difficult to say why, but that's not a major issue. Very good entry!
Now this is a game! Really satisfying to control the battery and the charge mechanic works really well with the puzzles. Like that you can see your charge level on the character art. Couldn't break through the wall in the level with 4 cannons though :( - The tunes were absolutely pumping too, and they mixed in really will with the sound effects.
Really good game. it kept me hooked for such long time... On point for the theme. well polished game. Well done!
Lovely game, I like the mechanics of the thing and the feeling is super nice with sound and graphic matching up perfectly. I do thing I happened upon a bug, my charge went out during one of them moving sideways barges thingamajig, and when I went to the next screen the whole thing was blank. Would love a fullscreen mode as well, playing it on a 1440 screen makes it suuuuper puny, had to up the scaling on my browser to get a good go at it! Anyways, great entry! Cheerz!
Lots of good mechanics for a platformer. Really loving the level design.
Really fun platformer with a lot of cool ideas! Really impressive how varied the levels are with so little time
Fun Romp, most of my critiques are nit picky things like the run animation looking dull, or the glass breaking not feeling just right. It's a good product, and it shows!
It's perfect. Nothing more to say. Simply 5/5 well done.
Really fun little idea. Nice gameboy style graphics with enjoyable music and some solid level design
Nice responsive controls and catchy chiptune music :)
@sawtan There's a fullscreen mode if you download the windows version! I tried to get it working in the html version but it wouldn't scale the game for some reason.
Best Game I've played this jam! The extremely clever level design combined with really well designed mechanics and an awesome artstyle make this game a legendary entry. Good Job!
This is a great looking, sounding, and feeling platformer. It's the perfect length for a game jam and had a great time throughout. I'd love to see more integration of the chargers throughout the levels to act as checkpoints or maybe different types of surfaces that drain or charge the player.
Nice work!
Nice graphics, great mechanics and a bit challenging. I had a great time playing it. Great job!!
Fun game! It would be nice to have w a s d movement and jumping using spacebar though. My arrows on my laptop are really small.
This plays really well. The battery is charming, great graphics overall. The sound is also spot on and the recharging mechanic is delightful.
The level design deserves a special mention. It's really good and must be something that's difficult to get right.
5/5 This game is awesome! It fast-paced, does not waste a second of my time, is easy to play, I had to read no description, has a GREAT soundtrac, that really gets you going. Those many levels and different mechanics in 72 hours - that is really impressive! This game has it all, everything fits together so tightly, the graphics, sound, the controls! Really good game. Looks like a Gameboy game and reminds me of the old Mega Man games but without all the bad controls and unmanageably hard and terrible things that made those not fun back then. This on the other hand is fun. You could make this a commercial game with a little more content and I would buy it. I like Super Meat Boy and I know you do too ;-)
I feel like you guys have played all the classic jump n runs and took only the best out of everything. The game reminds me of some but as I said, only of the good parts of those games. That is not to say that you are copy-catting anything, your game just fits nicely with my fond memories and it is a really unique and top-playable, top-polished game. The length was actually really great for a Ludum Dare entry.
Great job, keep up the good work and I am looking forward to your future creations!
I love the movement! And I really appreciate that you can jump out of the charging station, that's a really good touch.
I really enjoyed it! So much dynamic! The mechanics are also very interesting. Artstyle and music are fantastic
I saw your game and played it on Newgrounds! Love everything about it, I'm a sucker for pixel art platformer!
I love the music. Perhaps the interaction items could be marked more clearly (eg with animations or a different color).
Fluid gameplay, I enjoyed while playing. Graphics and audio are great as well. Solid entry, great work!
Ahhhhh this was so satisfying to play! The sfx for charging and recharging were particularly nice, in addition to the music. Really tight overall!
Great! Felt really nice to interact with - graphics and audio were also very fitting. The mechanics / mechanisms in the levels are pretty neat, too.
I had one moment where I got kind of stuck on the side/corner of a block in a weird way, but for the most part the controls were surprisingly solid.
Also felt a bit disconnected from the theme (as you're keeping "yourself", rather than "it", alive).
Overall, Very impressive!
Nice concept! Art and sound were both great. Awesome job!
The polishing amount on this game is astonishing, great game overall ! I like how you explored many different ideas around the core mechanics of your game, well done !
Wow clever idea with the battery. Also, good level design
Impressive game! It looks not just polished, it also had so many levels for the short time. Music, and visuals are well chosen. Good job!
VERY TIGHT PLAYER CONTROLS that was NICE to play!!! clever level mechanics, the recharge was my favorite
Art its awesome! Great job!
Incredible art and music! Really like the concept too, although I did manage to break it by dying half way through a transition in an elevator
Wow! This truly is a super polished and well made game. Great graphics, great audio. The difficulty ramps up perfectly, with the last level requiring you to be fast and to think fast. I sincerely hope that you keep developing this post-jam, as I would love to play some levels where the difficulty ramps up even further!
It would've been nice with a couple of frames of leeway where you can still jump after touching the ground, though. Maybe there's some sort of input delay in the web player, but I often fell off of platforms where I felt that I had actually pressed jump.
Great game, I played through the entire thing! Loved the art style and music, and a nice variety of short levels, expecially for a jam game. I feel that there is so much to be done with the 'battery' theme if you ever think to extend this game further.
Art and music is super polished here! Very fun retro experience! This one had a great atmosphere, and some sweet mechanics to play around with (those cannons!). This could just be personal preference but it felt like the player movement was a little too fast/floaty. Could use a smoother acceleration on the run perhaps. I also think the game tried to fit the theme of the jam but fell a little short. The battery recharge mechanic was pretty underused in the game and was probably the least fun mechanic. I think overall the game would be a more enjoyable experience without the draining health aspect. Really great work though, extremely polished for a jam game :D
Really solid, appreciate all the nods to Mega Man while still being fairly unique, that's a hard balance to find. Platforming felt great, snappy, responsive. Graphics were perfectly old school game boy. I got stuck on the level with the two spinning saws, couldn't get over the pipe on top. Otherwise great work and entry.
Very cool! Loved the music. Was supe challenging towards end, so I couldn't complete.
Wow. Probably the best entry I played until now. The chiptune music is great, and the same-key sound effects work extremely well (the dying sound keeps sounding pleasant, even if I've heard it dozens of times!) The player controls are solid and responsive, it's a real joy to play!
I have one minor remark about the level design, which definitely doesn't like the theme very much :-) Maybe longer levels, with more battery recharge spots?
Anyway, great entry ; thanks from a megaman fan!
Cool! I love the cannons adding variety to this game. Also I feel each level is polished to be made in 72 hours. Great job!
Really great game you have here :) Great level design with awesome music and art. It feels really polished! The only thing I felt could be better is the buttons or whatever are really hard to see on some levels. Would be cool if the objects you can interact with would be highlighted or something when you get close. But overall a really great entry. Awesome job!
Really loved playing. I still have the music playing in my head, it was great. The art was very readable and enjoyable. Got stuck at the level with the two rotating saws, I managed to reach the last canon once, but then ran out of energy before the final jump. Very nice entry!
Smooth and satisfying, you made a great call by making the levels quick and short. it keeps the charging mechanic fresh.
great art and funky music. Fun game!
Really well done! Loved all of this - the design, art, and music! I think the only suggestion I could make is to add some more player feedback - like some small particles coming off the ground when the character jumps.
I loved it! Fun gameplay. Art is awesome and music is great!
