Hehe, I like it, only reached level 5 now but I will give it a new go when it's rating time! Good to have you back mate! Hope you get to make more games from now on! :metal:

Simple idea that's well executed, and fits the theme. Personally, I think the screenshake and colour overlay goes a little too far and could maybe ramp up a bit slower, but I guess you were worried it would be too easy...?
Controls, gameplay and music are great! Also works fine on Firefox, Linux.
Sound volume seems to increase with every restart, not if that is intentional?
Also love the "programmer" art :)
The game you made is fun to play, and has charming art :). The earthquake really came out of nowhere and startled me, what I liked! It was maybe a bit to much screenshake though.
An improvement I would suggest is starting the player a bit further from the top, sometimes he wouldn't respond immediately, and I would be dead before I could move.
I had a lot of fun playing games. I think I made a good classic game.
I had some problem with inputs stopping when changing directions in the air and also when touching side of a ledge when falling, but other than that it had a nice "just one more run" feeling to it. Kinda reminded me of the feeling of playing a of a roguelike or similar. Fits the theme really well, the color flash made it sort of random since you cant even see where you land so just had to hope you landed on a good spot. Overall nice job!
My top score after a couple of runs:

@mrnyarlathotep thanks for playing and commenting!
Yeah, after playing the game so many times I thought it was getting too easy. But also I didn't really have time to experiment with when/how much things should disturb the miner. I agree it was a bit too much. I had ideas of enemies and boulders falling, but alas, time is not merciful when it comes to these game jams.
@snesgaard thanks for playing and commenting!
Yeah, there was a bug with the music when it restarts sometime. We could call it a feature if you like... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: but it really is a :bug: Didn't have the time/strength to figure out what I missed.
Yepp, I'm definitely a very artsy kind of person, thank you for noticing! (no, I am not and had to struggle for a really long time just to make what I did :weary: )
@last-angle thanks for playing! :wave:
And thanks for the feedback. Yes, sorry, I didn't have time to fine tune the different hurdles so a couple of things was a bit over the top I guess. :rocket:
Ahh, a hard and addictive game again, the Earthquakes sure makes me dizzy, and the panic of the world falling down on your face at the same time and all of a sudden you run upon a spike of lava, such a treat! :D Glad to see you're back in the game (no pun intended... or was it?) Hope you enjoyed the ride! :beers:
@gamefive thanks for playing the game! Yupp, this is kind of a classic endless runner-game, but going down instead of sideways.
@khorm thanks for playing and nice score! I didn't get that high of a score...
As always with these game jams there is not much time to test the game as much as you would want to, so yeah, there are definitely a few glitches. I see it more like a "Proof of Concept" than a full featured game.
My first idea was actually to make a rouge-type of game, going down catacombs, deeper and deeper into the earth. But I was afraid the level-design-stuff would take too long...this was the third choice.
@sawtan thanks for playing, please come again! :smile_cat:
I do enjoy coding something else than enterprise stuff sometimes but the time constraints are killing me. But it sure was fun and somehow still relaxing. I hope to be able to keep it up some more, this game-jaming-stuff.
Game on! :video_game:
That screen shake was intense! Nice work, simple and effective idea.
Ahoy there fellow endless runner creator ^^ This is a pretty decent runner, although I think the difficulty ramps up a wee bit too fast :D I think the vision blocking effects were a bit too aggressive, especially considering that one mistake is enough to end the run :) I had fun though and that's what's important ^^
Nice and simple and addictive. That screen shake was really intense.
@pat-cleaver Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, it was a bit much, time constraints and so on made me not able to test the game enough.
@gaminghamster well hello there! :runner:  Thanks for the comments, I do agree. I can only blame my time management skills, my lacking skills that is. I will make sure to try your game!
@flying-dog-fish cool name! :dog: :fish: Thanks for the comments! It seems people do find the shake a bit intense, yes. Too much too soon, eyh? :zap: Not easy balancing a game in stress mode, but I do agree! :-)
Cool game, the concept works well for this theme. The screen shake and color changing was a bit too intense though, this game really should have an epilepsy warning.
Got 6 audio tracks playing at once bahaha! Pretty funny game, though the controls are somewhat stiff and it definitely needs an epilepsy warning.
Fun little game! I love the sound design on this one, especially the music. The gameplay is simple but fun, and the experience is made more interesting by things like placing golden nuggets right next to some lava, or shaking the screen (that was really cool too see the first time!)
My main issue with the game is that it's quite buggy. I imagine you're aware of most bugs already, but I wrote down what I observed:
- When trying to turn, if I don't release the LEFT key before pressing the RIGHT key, the character just stops and doesn't move right. Same for the opposite direction. - When starting again after dying, it seems like the music is duplicated, as if I could still hear the music from the previous game while the new one is playing. Another music is layered every time I die and start again, meaning that after 3-4 games it's just distorted noise, and I have to refresh the page. - When you die, the character just pops back above, before showing the game over screen. It's not really a problem, it's just a bit weird to see :P - The intro screen music doesn't play the first time you play the game. - Collisions seem weird at times, I clipped through a platform on a few occasions, and I think the lava hitbox is a bit too wide.
I played the game on Chrome.
Another little detail that bothered me (sorry! 😅) is that the character sprite seems to have a different resolution than the platforms? Makes the graphics look a bit strange.
Still, I had a nice time playing! Thanks for the game :-)
@jakobthequizguy thanks for playing and commenting! I have now added a warning to the description. I agree some of the effects got a bit out of hand, this is what happens when you are a bit too stressed out...
@adonisdevs cool, the simultaneous audio tracks: that's a feature I worked on some time to get it juuust right! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I noted this "feature" but didn't have time to dig into why it was happening. Thanks for your comment, I have added a warning about shaking/blinking in the game.
@xlambein big thanks for the extensive review and comments on the game! I wasn't aware of the "The intro screen music doesn’t play the first time you play the game" so thanks for spotting this!
I have only my poor time management to blame, I didn't have time to fix all "small" quirks. Instead I wanted to get something out there that was working "OK-ish". Also, I have basically no ideas about gfx and creation of this so I really didn't give this much thought. I only fired up Piskel and started drawing the fast I could (which wasn't fast and really bad also) Thanks for brining this to my attention, I will think about it next time. :rocket:
This is the best music I have heard so for at this jam! I think the character movement could be a bit more dynamic and the screen shaking is a tad to strong, but overall good entry. As mentioned before I also clipped through some platforms but it happened rarely enouth that it wasn't too much of an issue for me.
A classic but still fun ! I really liked the music. Good job
The music of the game is just the best! :) The controls don't seem to work all the time, but once I got used to them, I had fun. Good job making this game ! :)
I really liked this game and theres really just one thing i would change.
Since the game is literally about taking a leap of faith, I would love to be able to turn in the air. If i jump off a platform towards the right, just to realise that I have to go further to the left, i kinda just get stuck and fall straight down.
@oadt oh, wow, I did not expect anyone mentioning the music as "the best", I feel flattered and almost a bit ashamed since it feel the tools I used for this did most of the work. (It's "only" beatbox-sounds arranged in different orders...well I guess all music is this actually in a way  ) Thanks for your comments and feedback also, it seems there is work to be done on movement and platform-hitting.
@meta-link thanks for playing and commenting!
@gamedev-and-architecture again, the music? Thank you! Yes, it seems I didn't make the controls good enough, lack of testing I'm afraid. Big thanks for playing and commenting, hope you enjoyed. :rocket:
@jonrei good idea, thanks for the feedback. Maybe it could be a power-up?
Great job with he mood audio/visuals. Love the simplicity and fun. Thanks
The basic idea of the game is good! It's a little hard. After I first start moving there's only a very short length of time to get off the first platform, so the first few times I played I died immediately. I think the music sounds good and the graphical special effects look good but the art could do with some more care. I won't duplicate others' bug reports.
I enjoyed the game, my recommendation would be to reduce the screen shaking a little bit, also maybe add different types of platforms (bouncy, melting, etc). Good job on making the game!
@michaelyount thank you! This was the main goal, an extremely simple casual game with simple controls but hopefully still fun and intriguing.
@reheated well I am no artist so I definitely agree with you here! Thanks for testing it!
@binaryprinciple yes, it seems to be a bit intense. But since it isn't an actual bug I have left it as it is for now. Good idea with the platform suggestions, haven't thought about it like that. Thanks! :rocket:
It's fun, I like the consept, I think It'd work well as a mobile game. It needs a bit of polish though :)
This was pretty fun to play for a while, and the music was nice and fit the game well! I think the screen shake and purple/red screen are too disorienting and increase the difficulty by too much too quickly though. Just having the movement of platforms slowly increase in speed would probably be a better way of gradually increasing the difficulty.
Simple fun game. I liked the music, it reminded me of Crash Twinsanity :D
When the screen start shaking; I know I wont last for long  that is a old classic game concept, and just right for this event theme nice game  ps: shake is too strong at first ; audio is not so great
This was a fun little game! I liked the balance of falling speed with the autoscroll, it let me make snap decisions of choosing a harder section (but with more coins/less lava) or wait for a different set of platforms. As others have noted, the screen shaking effect was cool at first but it goes for a bit too long. The programmer art was nice and easily readable. Great job!
Interesting game! had a strange audio bug that seemed to be the music looping over itself on each restart that refreshing the page seemed to fix. Other than that the game ran well, interesting choice of sounds, the controls worked, well made.
Level 6. Score 761. Nuggets 10. And got the camera shakes... geez! :P Cool music. Fun game. Thanks for making it!
@ziggykac thanks! Yes, this was the original plan, to make it easy enough to be able to have it on a mobile phone. It definitely needs polish!
@dans17 thanks for playing! Sorry, didn't give it enough time to test the difficulty level. Yeah, good idea with the platforms! Somebody else commented on making the platforms more a part of the game, and I think you are right.
@edur wow, never thought about that, yes there is some similarity I guess! But a bit different tone to it. Haven't played that one in a long time, that was a fun game. Gotta listen to the music and get some inspiration for the next jam now! Thanks for playing and commenting!
@olddog the screen-shaking is based too much on luck now, should be more skill based so you have a greater chance to survive it. Another thing that need fixing. Thanks for playing! :rocket:
@nice-gear-games hehe, thank you and you are very correct, this was programmer art with a programmer who sucks at art. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Thanks for the play and comment! :mount_fuji:
@noteworthy yepp, never had time to find what was causing that audio-bug, it was quite annoying. Thanks for playing anyway! Hope you liked it! :musical_score:
@etdofresh ooh, impressive work! I don't think I have gotten that far. :open_hands: Got the shakes eyh? Almost sounds like a disease or something now. I had fun making it (mostly) so big thanks for playing and commenting! :joystick:
A simple, but fun small game! Nice music, and that death sound is just XD
@videt  yeah didn't have time for a fancy death-sound so just recorded some real life feelings of coding this game and added some simple filters. Thanks for the play and the comment! :rocket:
@rolle I like it! reminds me of icy tower but downwards instead of upwards.
I have Rednex stuck in my head now, though..
_where did you come from, where did you go?_
_where did you come from, miner joe?_ :musical_note:
I thought I would beat @Khorm's record, did he get some kind of secret cheat code? ;D I simply could not get there.. my high-score:
firefox_1ELNZHwYXN.png
it seems like the best approach is too keep your eyes way down in the screen to think ahead, I had most success that way.
awesome work and happy to see you back with a contribution! :D
@0x01f0 impressive though! @khorm bought a couple of lootboxes and got lucky...
Hm, never made that link to Rednex  If I've known I could had have a totally different theme :cowboy: Imagining Wild Wild West now... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Thanks for playing and thanks for commenting!
The movement was really buggy and sometimes the character straight up went through the floor which was strange. But I gotta give it to you, the sound design was really cool and interesting, the death sound was pretty funny and the music was quite enjoyable, so kudos for that.
