Leave my Lettuce Alone :( by NeiloGD 2011-12-19T09:32:00
Game ran great on my Windows 7 machine. The gameplay mechanics are interesting, although I had a hard time figuring out how exactly to win the stage! Great entry man, I love it :D

Couldn't rate the AUDIO yet, I'll be back with a rating for it as soon as I play it on another computer! Funny funny game Sos :D
Back with the AUDIO rate! Awesome Sos, loved the funny-afro theme and the physics!
The intro sequence is way to slow! I like the idea, but the game is also extremely short! A bit more puzzles would have been better, but it's ok! :D I like it!
Loved it! To bad it's so short :(
Hi Cowbox, great to see a TCG member on LD! Trying out your game, now!
Would you believe what gave you out was the Window Border? While downloading the game, I took a look at the screenshots and went like: "I've seen a TGC member always using that Windows Theme". Then I saw soharix name and instantly said TGC!
I'd recommend everyone to focus on the "Asian" mode for the full mechanics and functionality (bullet recoil FTW).
@sirius_black9999: The ESC problem appeared in the last minute when I kinda messed up the Menu Code, so I took out the back to menu feature after wining/losing a game. The getting killed through the shield bug is fixed now, but I did way to many changes to update it! Thanks for playing the game :)
@EatThePath No bullets bouncing? Could you add more details? Didn't they bounce of the player's shield? (Space to activate it), or off the walls?
@Raptor85 what does the error say? Do you have DirectX 9.0c installed?
@Caranha: Yeah, sound is something I didn't manage to do. The Zoom in, zoom out idea is good though.
... really? :/
Extremely cute and fun!
Loved the feedback from my punches, how the enemies were knocked back and had that "omg not in the face" expression! Awesome!
As @Nek said, it has potential to get extremely awesome with more work! Liking it! Also, WebPlayer FTW!
The game get's stuck when I have to choose between:
-Time Lords
- Biological Evolution
Can't progress any further!
Simple but hard to stratergize the movements! A few sounds and some color can turn this into a neat little game. It lagged a little for me, but this is because it was played under a virtualized W7!
4900 score! And Mom was invisible! Still, fun concept, making a game for ludumdare about making a game for Ludum Dare! Ludumception? :)
Quite nice! Was off to a rough start, until the green balls that were dodging my aim appeared! Turned out to be quite fun after that! Congrats :D
Barely works with wine for me! Crashes two-three minutes into the game! Gonna give it a few more tries to give a more accurate rating!
Ok, got it to work!
Couldn't not start the Linux Version (no output in the terminal) but the windows one worked quite well with wine! Interesting and funny game :)!
@Andrei Barsan: Key 1(number 1 on the keyboard) for Red Cell, 2 for blue! Scrolling is a good idea! Also, Right Click = drop bombs, when you have enough points!
@Ragzouken, fr_automatik: Thanky :D
@Ninjakannon: You loose when the timer runs out or when there are too many un-mutated cells on the screen ('bout 30-34 on the first few levels). I should have added the reason why you lost the game! And yes, I know about the 3 lines on the edges.. sadly I said I would fix it in the end, but it slipped my mind until I submitted the game! Will fix post-compo! Hope you enjoyed it!
@JokerDen? What did I do in 48h or did I do make it in 48?
creative630: Thanks, yeah, I forgot to fix that bug of unregistered groups on the sides! You can use bombs to destroy them though!
Bukt: Windows, Linux or Web?
My tactic: Stay small, allot easier to sneak and swim through the upper side! Loved the way the other fishes turned Berserk when they noticed me!
It says Linux also, but I can't find any Linux binary! Tried wine, the game window comes up, but it remains black!
I found my freedom! Also the cat, is ADORABLE!
Congrats on your first Ludumdare!
Sword slashing is buggy. As jijaweb said, you get thrown in random places nearby. Got stuck behind the tree on the right of your house. I love the color scheme and sound effects! Please fix the sword issue.
My fingers hate you! AQ AQ AQ AQ!
Starting to work on the AI post-ludumdare. Will release an updated version with a post mortem on my blog www.bacioiuciprian.com . Thanks for playing guys.
@myachin, @LrdKzrth: What OS's are you using? :)
@karsyf: I could add a onetime mid-game pause which would allow you to re-send orders :)
@Xellinus: You sure the smell doesn't come from your smexy bow-tie? :P
Postmortem and updated version here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/04/30/miwarfare-postmorted-and-post-jam-version/
@karsyf: you can now re-issue orders during gameplay :)
Graphics looks amazing and plays really well in my browser. The aesthetics remind me of a 2D cardboard printed game. Grats on finishing it o/
Played it with a co-worker! I like the idea and would love to see a single player version with AI. best of luck o/
Finished it pretty fast. Got the pistol, almost ran out of ammo, but then I saw that ammo pretty much grows everywhere there. Was fun to play.
Lovely graphics indeed. Sadly, enemies would stack up on each other and I couldn't target who I wanted. Grats on the game o/
Found a player the first time i joined. Pretty fun, but the server "updates" are a tad slow (I could pass through the boundaries with ease most of the time). o/
+1 for Linux version. 'Twas a bit to slow for my liking, but I got the hang of the puzzles.
Hard to understand what I was supposed to do at first. Loved the way his fit juggle on the floor :D
Apart from the fact that the camera sometimes blocks your view to jumps, I cannot find anything wrong with this entry. It feels welcoming and friendly. Cheers o/
Really interesting concept. I do love this one!
Would have loved it better to see the cannon rotate based on mouse movement, not mouse click. Also, HANDS, EYES, work as a team DAMN IT!
DAMN IT INTERGaLacTIC PEOPLE! MAIL UPLOAD IS WAY TO SLOW! :D
Would have loved to see some impact effects on my ship. With so much happening on the screen it's hard to notice when I get damaged :(
Loved it! Both the art style and the fact that you need to thrust in the opposite direction of your moving vector to stop!
Any chance of getting a timeless version so I can dodge and make pirates crash into the sun for ever and ever and ever and eveeerr? Loved the way the ship controlled o/
As x1212 said, the travel animation takes too long :). I like the idea though, and the fact that AGS was used for this. Grats o/
Being a space nut myself I'm always looking for strategy games set outside our world. The fact that this game is slow paced and works in the browser is a *deity*-send for me. Great submission, I love it!
Took a few tries till I nailed my coordination! I likes it, I likes it!
For some reason I got used to the inverted controls faster then I expected. My only beef with the game is that the player's sprite does not face the direction it's moving towards. Good job o/
Islands looking really well! Also, Arrrrrr, that ship be plundering all in it's way! Awast ya swabs and give this man some ratings!
Highest score in inovation I gave during this LD!
Graphics look sweet as hell. Well done for your first Ludumdare, well done indeed.
My favorite game so far! Actually loving the shait out of it! Please release a post-compo version on itch, I'd love to buy it.
Ha, I swam in the water with no breathing aparaturs! Also, how do I get passed the two guys on the cartdrige level (brunette and the bald guy)?
@Kuupu: it's a simple 'algorithm'. Create a map that's all water. Then, take 3 passes over it.
First Pass:
- select a random tile on the map
- move around the tile in a clock wise rotation (spiral) and mark random tiles in your path as grass tiles
- the more grass neighbors a tile has, the more chances to become a grass tile
- repeat this process <mapWidth/2> times
Second Pass:
- loop through the entire map again and check for single grass tiles (separated from the land-mass)
- remove all (or mostly all) stray grass tiles
Third Pass:
- loop through the map and place trees and mountains on grass regions that have grass neighbors. Bonus points if you can center the trees/bushes around the center of an island
- finally, check to see if a grass tile has a water tile beneath it. If so, replace the water tile with a transition tile between grass and water.
There are a few more in-depth articles that cover a similar usage if you search for island procedural generation on google.
I got the knife, i knifed the blobs, dodged the flower as much as I could, avoided the pinky aliens that were trying to pidgeon-poop-bomb me annnnddddddd I had no idea what to do at the rocket. Although props or the sweet floor in the castle, that looked sweet! I must give this game another try when drunk o/
As Lars said, the visuals are incredible! Loved the environment usage in creating the puzzles. Really, really ,really good job.
Well, Initially I had no idea what to do, since I went straight up as i started and meet no planets in my way. Ended up building a route and purchasing a few planets. Didn't win yet.
