Great concept, I had fun playing your game! It's a bit too short though.
@udo: chrome marks almost everything with zip and exe in it when it comes form dropbox. My game is marked as malware as well.
@author: Great idea with the real world. Even the collision boxes were well positioned! However there were screens that disappeared when you clicked any key. When you play you don't expect game to pause for a message screen so you instantly skip it.
Please, do mobile version after the LD. I'd pay to play this on my phone. Awesome game.
Music and visuals are lovely. The game is very short, it would be nice to have it a bit longer because the graphics style and audio quality are really strong.
I really like this concept, it's really enjoyable! I only got two minor issues with the game: if the direction change got some inertia the game would be much more fun to play. Current movement is to discreet to be fully controlled. The second issue is path generator. I got a path when there was no velvet color between red and blue and the red path got hidden and only blue path was visible. So I could do nothing. Nevertheless, the game is really fun, thanks for the entry!
I really wish you port your game to Android. It's hard, but awesome!
Awesome concept. It took me a while to figure out what's going on, but after that the game was really fun to play. Thanks!
After first 2 levels I thought: omg, game about clicking twice and waiting for the progress bar to fill up. But I've decided to give it time to suprise me and it was really a suprise! Nice puzzle game, I've really enjoyed it.
WOW. Music, visuals, everything. Awesome job!
Intresting idea on the theme! I agree with the opinion that it could have more features. The great thing is audio. I love the music, it adds a nice mood to the game!
Nice idea! I couldn't find out why there are two additional screens. It took me a while to "miss" asteroid on the first one and then everything was clear.
The game gets too easy and repetitive when you find out how to hack things. Audio is really good as well as visuals. I wish it were a bit more complicated, but still I enjoyed playing it, good job!
Thank you for the feedback!
@elkiwydev: I am not sure if I am allowed to redistribute this dll by myself, so here's the link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
My guess is that you're missing this.
LostTrainDude: Thank you! Yes indeed. I'm big fan of Ugh! myself and I wanted to create something similar. The great thing about Ludum Dare is that now that I have something playable I will continue to fix bugs, implement new features and improve overall gameplay.
Hi guys. I've added Linux port today. Have fun and I hope it works without any issues!
For anyone having issues with missing dlls even if package from the link got installed. Make sure, that you installed 32 bit version (x86) even if your Windows is 64 bit (x64). A friend of mine resolved his issues with missing dlls this way.
You collided with a wall/ground having too much of velocity. Unfortunatelly I haven't implemented any speed warning indicator as there were no time left. Also I forgot to add any form of tutorial.
Looking at this entry 1 year later, even I know any of you read this, I'd like to thank you all for the feedback! I learned quite a bit from your comments!
any of you won't read this*
Platformers and other action games are not hard to design. Core mechanic is well known, you only wrap it with some goodies. But Strategy genre is a different story. Designing and implementing it in 48h is close to impossible, so your entry is just awesome. Good job!
Nice! The audio is creepy indeed! Not sure if I got stucked or if that's part of the game/plot, but I died like 3 to 5 times and whole background has gone. It was only me, blackness and invisible collision things.
I really like the music, it's catchy. Great job!
Lovely little game! Great visuals, nice music! The only missing part is a difficulty level - more challenge to the player, but it is a pretty good entry!
The game is a bit lacking gameplay, there's nothing challanging there.
But...
I laughed my ass off! The audio is hilarious, and the music really great! I also played it till the end, so good job on this one! If only it gave the player more challenge it would be awesome game. :)
Thanks!
I am unable to find single flaw of this game. I've opened it with 3-4-minutes of gameplay in mind but I spend so much more! Everything is polished, from visuals, audio, gameplay to mood and humor.
Well done!
Now get back to work...
I wish it wasn't that short. Good one! :D
Thank you for letting me know!
Once more Redistribuables are missing... Next time I'll learn how to cross compile from linux and ignore the VS once for all :/
I'm uploading fixed packages (with proper dlls), but as a fast fix:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
Ok, I've edited links to binaries. I hope this help.
Thank you all for the feedback! I really appreciate it!
In case you're curious how the sound was supposed to work:
When the crab is awake and you're inside its area circle of vision (radius is about 50 px I think), it tries to do mind confusion tricks (that's why the sound is played and the screen shake starts). In first version it lowered the health, but then I removed health modifications and kept the sound and screenshake, so the bullet evasion is more difficult when the player inside the crab's area of influence.
There was more ideas on this feature, but I had to cut down almost 70-80% of the planned features as my progress were too slow.
So it seems like I need to work on how to give good feedback to the player for actions taken.
I'm speechless, awesome entry! I only wish the text bubbles wouldn't vanish so fast, I couldn't read some of them in time.
Visuals, audio, humor, mood. You got it all!
Hi!
I tried to run it (Win7, Firefox 40.0.2) but exception happened:

I wasn't expecting any of these... The humor is definitely strong in this one!
BTW, that's exactly me on the dance floor!
I love everything about your game! It's my favourite LD33 entry so far. It has everything; great graphics style, awesome story telling, trunks, tails and fur. And murderer!
Lovely graphics, mood and use of theme!
I got one issue with the game thought. Descripton says that hitting enemies from the back will kill them instantly. The problem is there's no way (known to me) to go near them without them being alerted. And when they alerted it's impossible to hit them because you can hit only if you're not running.
Keep it up!
