This is amazing, nice art, especially really good music, however it took me while to figure out how to fire the flamethrower.

Cool and interest game with a unique idea, I did get one bug which pushed me under the map. 52093434c4b55f57b4aeea27ad96b056.png I think this happened because when the grass block instantiate the colliders push the player collider who is under it, forcing them to move, there should maybe be a check to tell if the player is there just in case this doesnt happen.
Maybe there should be an explanation of the controls
Love the lo-fi music! Could see myself playing this a lot more with a bit of tweaking to the controls.
Game feels nice to play, and really unique game system and mechanics! It does start to lag a bit once you get far, but it's still plays well!
Nice idea! Not what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised.
Cool innovative mechanic. I liked the combination of platformer and flamethrower mechanics with the simulation of the blocks. Kinda like terraria.
@adam-jewell Thanks so much! @thulyo-araujo There is a controls tab on the start menu check there for this info, its also in the games page now. @fzsa-v Yeah its tough with time restrictions but we will look into it!
This is a tough game! Cool idea!
really like the music in this one. The minimap is very helpful in seeing the progress of the spread and where to put your efforts. nice job!
Controller recommendation wasn't a joke! Has some real charm, but keyboard controls are quite the workout. Hit a bug where I got stuck in the floor. This game has got that "Nintendo hard" feeling!
I don't understand how to use the flamethrower. Shift doesn't seem to be doing anything.
Trying to contain an ever growing plant is a very cool concept and adding fire that's ever growing as well to the mix only makes things better.
It creates an entire microecosystem which the player has little control over, but has to survive in nontheless.
I can't help but feel like this game is lacking some kind of overarching objective though. What's the point in trying to fight the plant when the plant is always going to win? (This is kind of getting philosophical )
@reispfannenfresser we definitely get what you're saying (i have been known to do a little thinking myself, time to time) - we tried to lean into an arcade aesthetic where your goal is just for a high score, though we had to scrap our fancy arcade leaderboard towards the end..
Glad to hear you found the microecosystem part interesting! That's one of our favorite parts, the dynamic that's created by the expanding plant and spreading fire, and the player, platforming around both. Thanks for the feedback!
wow, that was TOUGH! Had that old-school NES type of difficulty going on!
LOVED the music, matched the gameplay, mood and art style perfectly, made me feel like a kid again! Really unique idea, and the flamethrower was a fun weapon to use. Minimap came in really handy, great addition!
I found the flamethrower a bit tricky to use for some reason, even with a controller it didn't feel too comfortable. The character always defaults to 'looking right' even when I just moved left. Would have been nice to keep him in his last looking position so I wouldn't always need to use the aim if I'm just wanting to throw out a quick burst in front of me. I felt like the flames took a bit too long to burn (or alternatively it would have been nice if you could move through burning tiles) as I got trapped a few times and needed to wait out the flames.
Most important of all though, it was really fun to play! Excellent work and congrats.
cool concept
Super Fun and also very challenging game. Controls and Mechanics feel great with a great overall objective and gameplay.
@andikki use control, not shift, to fire flame thrower (Edit, please ignore this)
Cool game. Nice graphics and mood. The controls could be improved, it is quite difficult to press left shift and space when controlling with wasd.
Ah that was delightful! The only thing I'd change is make the platforming feel a bit snappier - it was a bit too much momentum and ledges just-out-of-reach for me to feel that I had complete control of the character.
Pretty innovative idea! I haven't played a game like this before. Cool graphics and sounds as well. Nice entry!
Never played something quite like this - I enjoyed the stress factor! Hand-crafted sprites look great, sound/music is awesome. Gameplay loop was rewarding. Keep it up!
Smoothy to play, you got me here :)
I adore the music and sprites. I don't have a controller on hand so the keyboard configuration felt a bit uncomfortable at first, but I enjoyed it a lot. Great job!
Excellent mood, theme, sounds, graphics, and humor. Really good marks there. I didn't find the game that fun, though - it went from there being not enough plant (it was difficult to find, although the minimap is excellent) to suddenly being far too much for me to do anything about it. Which is part of why it fit the theme well, haha.
Cute style! Extra points on a game that used controller it felt mostly okay but the platforming areas were tough to navigate despite everything.. Very good job on getting something together from start to finish I liked the vibes too!
The flamethrower didn't seem to work in firefox, but it did in chrome. I feel that controlling the flamethrower with a mouse would be more comfortable for me. Regardless, the game is quite lovely.
Nice game ! I didn't had an XBOX controller, but the game works well with keyboard (but would be better if we could aim with the mouse ^^ ). I liked the music !
That's a nice little game you have made :), I really enjoy the music and especially that VFX sound on the jump hahaha. The only negative thing i have to say really is that it starts lagging real bad when you get far and Pc control is really hard to play, once i used a controller it felt way better. poor people who don't have one :). But other than that, a job well done :)
i like it so far yessir🔥🎮
Great job, I like application of that theme.
this is a good game, thanks.
