LD50 — Delay the inevitable

My Type! by Linus Lindberg 2022-04-04T18:05:08Z

Very elegant, very simple, and very polished. The game is great! Plays well, I think everything in the game is thought of well too. I think some improvements with difficulty can be made, I currently played up to 50 points, and im not completely sure if the words fall more if you are at higher points, but I think a good way to tell is how many words there are in the bucket. I think I'm a fast typer, at (50 points) there were no words at the bucket, and the challenge just is not there for me. Many of the typing games generally like to have the players race against something like (typeracer), so perhaps maybe some kind of timer before the next word falls, or next batch or words etc. You can also add in some theme to the words too! All in all, love the game, great work!!!

This Mortal Coil by Baconinvader 2022-04-05T20:15:15Z

Really solid game with a unique take on the theme. I really like the gameplay, especially the dichotomy between a stable state in the game with the movement being step by step, while having the timer being a dynamic state of the game. This really meshed well together and created a pretty difficult game with an urgency with needing to act upon moving fast, but not getting hit by the projectiles. The furthest I got was level 6. I think some of the projectiles are harder to tell exactly where they are at on the board, since I did get hit n spots where I didnt think I would get hit. I saw that some projectiles had shadows, as well as the character, I think this may work well with some other projectiles, or at least some way to tell that the direct spot under that tile is dangerous for the player. Amazing work!

Unity Uchievements 100% Full Clear Any% Speedrun. Really clever way to make unity more interesting!

My Dream Cafe by zaza 2022-04-04T18:22:55Z

Definitely a really chill game. I enjoyed the vibe, and as a barista, enjoyed the drinks you had haha. ANYWAYS. I played up until buying the windows, but yeah everything meshed well. I think it definitely gave the impression of a dream cafe, a kind of recipe like game where you make drinks, etc. If this game had some sort of tutorial it would be amazing, I think at the start I was a bit confused why they only asked for water, I thought the game would automatically progress, afterwards getting water for the 20th time, I think I realized that you would have to buy the machines to progress and get more money. This, and dragging the menu, I thought it was a bit weird at first until I got used it the 4th or 5th time around, and it felt right to me as well! On another note, it was also a bit frustrating when I had an order last second, with the drink, and suddenly when i dragged it too fast, it would hit something and get refreshed. The ice is not that obvious as well, I'm pretty sure some of my drinks I swear that I had ice in, did not, maybe a more obvious textures/mesh/cube for ice? All in all, I really enjoyed the game, definitely one of the longer games I played because of that too.

Train Wrecked by darkmonkey inc 2022-04-05T06:32:59Z

I really like the challenge of this game, having to act fast as you look at the train traveling really drives home the theme in multiple levels. The greatest part of it is when you know you are trapped, but having to wait for the inevitable, bravo! With the tree, im not completely sure if the left mouse button is used for it, but I had an issue where I dragged the tree down as well as placing the tiles there. It may be the fact that I am bad at doing this though. Amazing game, and great job, I really enjoyed this entry!

Humans to Blame by Relord 2022-04-04T21:53:00Z

Really interest approach, fits the theme very well, simple game with plenty of polish. An amazing intro with the tutorial. Here are some potential small bugs that was a little out of place. The missiles sometimes may target the same spot? It's weird because the missile that they are shooting is at themselves, and for gameplay it just instantly depleting your health by one. Sometimes, a missile landing will deal 2 damage to the earth? Otherwise, I think this game is amazing, I definitely want to see more polish with this game!

1 Man 6 Bullets by Raphaeltan 2022-04-05T01:27:39Z

Everything about this game shines, unique gameplay, amazing art, very polished, good visuals, good effects, nice variation of maps. I really like the fact that once you do run out of bullets, there is no way to come back, a good nod to the theme.

Berserk by NoobHereo 2022-04-04T17:58:39Z

There is a lot of potential here, especially with the level editor, I'm definitely sure it took a lot of effort in making a level editor in your game, and it shows. However, based on the gameplay it can be at some times frustrating, especially when your aim is tied with your movement. Plenty of top down shooter like games, especially with melee (hotline miami is a great example) differentiate movement with aim, since both is a different focus for the player when they play in that game. For instance, lets say you want to dodge an enemy and also aim your weapon and hit them at the same time, this is really impossible to do, and somewhat frustrating to the player because they lose a bit control. Then if you want to dodge the enemy and hit them at the same time, you would have to constantly poke them and retreat in that order, repeated. Personally, I think this also may impact the player's feedback in wanting to dodge, and maybe just running at the enemy hitting them as much as possible. If you intend your gameplay to be that way, for sure I think it works perfectly, just take my feedback as a grain of salt. Very excellent job! Can't believe you made a level editor!!

Ultimate Tennis Championship 2K22 by hajpappan 2022-04-04T19:14:36Z

A very simple twist to an old classic, very nice job! I'm not that patient so my best score was 19090. At certain times, I think I would have liked an ability for the ball to drop faster? However, I think everything "landed" perfectly. Glad to have you finish the game jam!

The Root of All Evil by DV_company 2022-04-05T01:32:35Z

Cool and interest game with a unique idea, I did get one bug which pushed me under the map. 52093434c4b55f57b4aeea27ad96b056.png I think this happened because when the grass block instantiate the colliders push the player collider who is under it, forcing them to move, there should maybe be a check to tell if the player is there just in case this doesnt happen.

What, You APE? by PixelTaku 2022-04-05T06:19:58Z

Unique and clever game. When will a monkey write Shakespeare???? I like the idea of having the boss being a huge cyborg ape, the attack patterns are good, but I think given more time having more than two attacks would be awesome. As well as your character, I thinking having a bit more animation with the Shakespeare ghost wind up and hit would make it look amazing.

Bear Rescue Force (aka Global Warming Simulator) by Misha Pozdniakov 2022-04-04T18:26:22Z

@leviathon thank you for the feedback! We will try to make an adjustable scale for the mouse sensitivity, I think could help us a lot for some players who have issues rotating the planet.

@baconinvader @witherk Thank you for the feedback! We will look into balancing scaling the difficulty of the game.

Not Enough Time: The Game by Marianoa213 2022-04-04T04:36:15Z

Awesome game! Great intro music, I wish it made it into the main game. You can also add some ambience in the main scene to make it seem more vibrant and active.

Brakeless by silkmeloni 2022-04-05T06:25:39Z

Interesting idea and good approach to the game, I really like the visuals of this game. I felt like it was a bit frustrating when you got stuck in a wall, since you are moving forwards at all times I understand this, but maybe having the car stop when the player is stuck for more than a few seconds, because if the player does get stuck then its almost an instant death for the player. All in all, I enjoy the look of this game, great work!

And Then You Fall by Zack HD 2022-04-05T06:41:01Z

Really interesting idea, I see plenty of complex systems in the game, and a clever way for health -> Wave Performance. I love these kind of games, and I probably guessed that you used a sin or cos function to get that circular pattern with the boss, there are so many other patterns you can achieve just with that! There is one cool pattern that you can do, which adds a value to the function, and then with a loop (maybe 5), you can decrease that value, to make a c or u shape as that pattern. If you are very interested in these games (bullet hell), the bullet hell part of it is one of the most interesting part of the adventure! I loved this game, and that's amazing that you completed it in time!
