I really like the charm of this game. Although its on the simpler side for mechanics it had alot of potential for some really cool and fun mechanics. It feels good to play and all attack and movemnt animatons feel and look great. The idea is peak story design and no game will be able to fit the "Delay the inevetable" theme better great work guys!
Really impressive and the art was fantastic, only complaint is that I had a little trouble knowing when I'd damaged the boss monkey, maybe you can make it flash red or something?

Unique and clever game. When will a monkey write Shakespeare???? I like the idea of having the boss being a huge cyborg ape, the attack patterns are good, but I think given more time having more than two attacks would be awesome. As well as your character, I thinking having a bit more animation with the Shakespeare ghost wind up and hit would make it look amazing.
HA! What a brilliant take on the theme. Top marks for humor! I wasn't able to defeat the boss, and on some runs I never even saw it, but my top score was stopping 51 monkeys. The artwork is incredible (especially the Shakespeare ghost) and the screaming monkey noises are hilarious. Great work all around!
Ahh, and the title of the game is a play on "What, you egg." Haaaaa!
Quite possibly the best use of the theme "delay the inevitable", and I say that 100% without bias. Great art, great humor, tone, etc... but the mechanics themselves could have been improved upon - they're lacking variety and while the challenge is fun, it's largely carried by the theming.
Fun game! The score and I think the health don't reset when you lose though so you have to restart the whole game which is a bit of a bummer.
Very clever idea for the theme ! Good entry !

Very simple gameplay, but I did spend a lot more time playing it than I'd like to admit, so it's definitely at least a little addictive...
The ghost of Shakespeare sprite looked like it had a lot of work put into it. I had to pull him down to face the camera at the bottom of the screen to get a better look at him.
It'd probably have been good to have some indicator that you're damaging the boss. Initially I thought you just had to wait for him to flash a few times before he died, but it turns out you can take him out early with a few slashes whilst he's attacking.
Does the typing on the side of the screen actually go any slower the more monkeys you kill, or is it purely aesthetic?
Fun little game though--good job! ^^

Once I realized the backstory, I was fully in. Hilarious concept. Enjoyed the sound effects and the timing being shown on the left as the "works of Shakespeare" being written in real-time. Great work!
Loved the idea behind this game, very creative and funny :). The game was simple but fun, however the boss was hard to get past due to not having a health bar. talking of health bars though, I found it very cool how instead of a ticking down health bar, you are delaying the page filling up with shakespears writing! Nice!

Creative and unique game on the theme! I really liked the humor and the gameplay was a bit confusing at parts (I didn't really understand the boss fight) but mostly simple. Maybe (if not already) the game could start slow and get faster by time so the difficulty is more dynamic. Well done!

Boss design is cool and idea is interesting but gameplay is confusing and music hurts my ears
elden ring quality boss fight! there was no notification if i hit the boss so that caused a little confession at start but this is to me a very very original take on the theme. loved your thinking out the box!

Shakespeare kills monkeys!? It's powerful! What were you guys smoking there? It was fun, I liked it! )) The visual is cool, the music is a little primitive, but it conveys the atmosphere.
I absolutely love how this game fits into the theme, it's a very good take and you do a good job translating it into a game for this jam! I had a lot of fun with it, I like endless runners in general. I do wish there was a bit more variation as the loops continue, my first run did around 3 loops before I died. For what's there though, it's pretty nice! The humor of the scenario is top notch and I like the graphics for the characters as well.
Loved this concept, great interpretation of the theme, good job! :)
