Cool combination of real-time and turn based!
- The mspaint.exe protagonist sprite and the grass are definitely the weakest link of the pixel art. - This feel like a rhythm game but also you have to go fast? At first I thought I have to move on the beat or something, but it's the other way round. Turns out it's moving like a roguelike, but with a wall clock timer. - The controls flashed briefly and I thought I had missed something at first. Maybe make them fade out over a second instead. - Music is ambient, fits the mood, doesn't get in the way (after I figured out this is not a rhythm game). - Theme is on point - Collecting hearts past full was unnecessary. I was at 3 most of the time until I got hit by three things in rapid succession - I got to level 8, score 40640
Not bad! Died at level 9
Looks good! I think you guys have a great future!
Woo level 10! I really enjoyed it! I thought the overall art style felt cohesive which was really good. The controls were simple and I was able to pick them up quickly. I liked how you had to manage both your health and the timer which created some cool situations where I might tank some damage if I was really low on time or just take things slow if I was down to 1 health.
great fun and a cool idea. felt a bit of a shame to just make it impossible at the end there, but I enjoyed it.
Really solid game with a unique take on the theme. I really like the gameplay, especially the dichotomy between a stable state in the game with the movement being step by step, while having the timer being a dynamic state of the game. This really meshed well together and created a pretty difficult game with an urgency with needing to act upon moving fast, but not getting hit by the projectiles. The furthest I got was level 6. I think some of the projectiles are harder to tell exactly where they are at on the board, since I did get hit n spots where I didnt think I would get hit. I saw that some projectiles had shadows, as well as the character, I think this may work well with some other projectiles, or at least some way to tell that the direct spot under that tile is dangerous for the player. Amazing work!
I gave it 3 playthroughs. I died pretty early on the first round, I think at level 2, but once I figured out what was going on I thought it was pretty fun to play.
I like the time stopping mechanic, it makes it a lot more fun, and you're on the right track for the theme for sure. I think it would work really well as a rhythm game too.
I liked the sound effects and music, I think they added a lot to your game, some extra work on the art would take it to another level I think. All around pretty good entry, I enjoyed it!
Very interesting take on a bullet hell! I ended up playing a few games and got 536125 points with a time of 573 on my last attempt. Some thoughts: - On my first few games I was often confused as to what hit me, until I figured out the appearing flames and the tails on the purple projectiles. Maybe those could be clearer somehow? - The sides of the screen seemed like very dangerous places to be with the screen-width beams spawning right on top of you. It felt a bit bad to lose my multiplier to something that's so random. - The clocks giving a (seemingly)random amount of extra time felt a bit strange as well. - I would've liked to be able to keep moving by holding down a direction. Though I can also see why you'd have it the way it is. Overall I found the game enjoyable and novel, good work!
It wasn't immediately clear that it was turn based, but I may not have been paying enough attention at the start. Otherwise, it was a really great interpretation. The time ticking down and forcing you to be less thoughtful and make more reckless moves as time went on was a really great touch.
If you want very unique / different kind of bullet hell game, this is absolutely for you! Challenging and fun!
I like the movement, this is something I don't see often
I like the movement! It's a nice idea and felt like a good difficulty balance.
Just Reach LV9, this was a great game, appreciate the amount of hearts that can spawn, it was a very intense and fun experience, the artwork here is fantastic, Great job! :v:
This was an interesting blend of turn based with an overall time limit. I started out fairly cautious, then when my time started running out I became more reckless. Overall, it's a neat concept!
Wow, I love this game! The deceptively simple combination of turn-based and time based made for really wonderful gameplay - supported greatly by the well thought out projectiles. The pacing especially - I slid directly from learning controls, then understanding objectives, then dodging new magicks, then routing my way out of complex traps - it was very rewarding, and especially impressive for a game jam.
I really loved the art style and audio - reminded me of 'off' by mortis ghost - gives almost an eerie otherworldliness - very fitting with the game's lore. Plus, any minor visual glitches look intentional! Overall: amazing job!
Nice game
Nice job! Could become a great game with some more polish and some fancy graphics.

I had a pretty good time, i think it was fun to plan out your action when playing so you felt smart when things went good.
It was pretty good, thanks for game)
Cool concept, it gets a bit chaotic as the game moves forward :) My score was 50240 and level 7!
Nice cutscenes and fun game! I liked it :)
I really like this idea, it's original, simple but fun. The graphics/audio are minimal but get the job done, it's clear what everything does. Love the simplistic intro
My main criticism is the tutorial at the start, I accidentally skipped it too quickly. I wouldn't make it disappear on the first keypress. With that said, the design was intuitive enough that I figured it on my own.
I love the colour shift effect as time runs out, you almost don't need a timer, the fade effect is enough.
The obstacles/enemies were interesting, again simple and intuitive.
Good job :)
Loved the combination of turn based and realtime as you really feel rushed to make decisions as the time starts to get low. Honestly with some polish and expansion you could make a really interesting full game out of this. Great job!
Not bad at all!! I like the interplay between having a real-time countdown in a turn-based game. Leads to making much more rash, split-second decisions that can trip you up if youre not careful. I enjoyed it!
