I loved it! Your art style is adorable and minimalistic and it totally fits the theme. The dialog got a couple chuckles out of me, reminded me of Undertale for a moment. You're "note" system is great and feels even better than great! I absolutely look forward to seeing your next submission!
I really enjoyed your game, it was really challenging for me to get 100% on any of the beats. The dialog was funny too. The art style was good I just felt like the ground was too saturated and bugged my eyes. The music was great, the beats were hard to hit but satisfying to do so.
@jaredmercer Thank you for your super kind words! I must say I had a blast during this jam, and reading comments like yours is the best reward we could hope for. Thank you for playing ;-)
@MrBreadMan I apologize for your eyes, it's entirely my fault as my partner noticed the same thing, built new assets with less grass, and I didn't get the chance to include them. I'm glad you enjoyed the challenge ! I did my best to design cool tracks, and also tested the levels A LOT until I was happy with the difficulty curve. Thank you so much for playing !!
@SpaceMonkey Of course! We also had a great time, this was our first and it's so awesome to be able to connect with such an amazing community! Keep making games!!
This isn't my type of game at all, and I loved it! The style is beautifully simple, with art and audio complimenting each other perfectly. The gameplay's fun, and as sad as I am that those bunnies had to die, the little stacks of bloodied bones they left behind reminded me of my rhythmic prowess! :)
The monster could be a little quicker on his feet, but beyond that, magic!
@OldShrimpeyes I probably wouldn't say it is my type of game either to be honest, and this is why I wanted to avoid the usual pitfalls at all cost and keep it FUN. I'm glad we were able to convince you ;-) By the way I totally remember your game from LD40, and I loved it. Let me check that entry of yours ...

This game is pretty amazing given the time you had to make it.
This is definitely the game I played for the longest time for a LD game.
My only issue is with the actual rhythm. It might just be me, but I feel like the notes are not exactly aligned with the arrows (When you press arrow key exactly when note plays, you fail). I actually did better when turning down the volume. Which is a bummer :-/
But I still think the game is great! Overall 5/5 :)!

Really cute and fun game! Also quite morbid, haha.
Liked the game! "The power of your dance is literally KILLING me!" Lol. You were right about raging lol Some of the songs were really hard, but that just made me want to try harder to win!! Great job! if you get some free time, mind checking out our game?

@Mister_Kweh Thank you ! The rage is really present haha. I feel bad for all the players but I'm proud at the same time. It's a very weird feeling to recieve compliments on my game when I'm mostly making players rage intentionally. At least you get to murder cute bunnies so I guess I'm not too bad of a person in the end. I will check everybody's game, giving priority to those who have less than 20 reviews.
Hahaha this is really cute and weird. I love your art in this! And you weren't kidding about the difficulty curve either. Great job!
@fashionbatman I'm so glad you had fun !! I had fun watching my friends rage and get addicted too. A friend of mine couldn't leave the game and took more than an hour to beat it.
The feedback is too good, I already planned to spend at least one more day to polish the game and make a post-jam version, maybe two.
My plan is to : 1) Fix the sound issues on the WebGL version and try to make it more enjoyable overall. 2) Add a little bit more spice to the ending, and MAYBE lower the difficulty for the last rabbit. At least make it a little bit more fair so you don't have to grind for 20 minutes to beat it. 3) Change a few dialogs. Beleive it or not, but some of those bad jokes make me cringe more than the others ! 4) Save the position of skeletons, so you can see the mess you made when you move around. 5) Find a way to kill the non-dancing bunnies. I had that request a few too many times to ignore it.
I'll post a devlog on itch.io, follow me if you're interested.
Absolutely a-gore-able. I think that requiring 100% is a bit harsh; I'll probably never be able to beat bunny 4. Admittedly, my rhythm is bad, but it still felt like some of the beats were off for bunny 3?
@BitJester Media It is harsh to ask for 100% it's true. I wanted to lower it to 90-95% but then I would have needed some mechanic for the guard to move away from your path without breaking the immersion too much. Or maybe open a door ? Hmm... I noticed during the tests that 100% on bunny04 (actually guard01) it still very doable for most people if they spend 5 minutes on it. And this is were hardcore gamers would actually start enjoying the game and get really hooked. The problem is, everybody has a different feel for rhythm in general, so it's really hard to have a game that is fit for everyone. I have a decent sense of rhythm and I still need 2-4 tries to beat guard01 (and I played that level >20 times). During the tests, after the jam, I saw a friend beat him on second try. It was almost too easy for him.
At first I designed guard01 thinking I would stop the game there. That's why I made a bump in the difficulty curve, thinking more than 50% of players would quit there but that was ok because there was nothing behind anyway and I had my 5 minutes of gameplay. In the end I added 3 more levels, but didn't have time to adjust the difficulty of guard01, and I knew it wasn't anything critical since most LD testers would stop playing after 5 minutes.
Anyway you have a very good point there, it's something I'll have to fix one way or another if I want to make it into a cool mini-game. It has been on my mind since day 2.
Bunny3 was so rushed, I'm sorry for the sound sync problem, I already had guard01 in mind lol It will be very easy to fix though.
Sorry for the long post and thank you for your feedback !
That's a fine little game man. Should've added some more crispy music in the game. Overall it was really well programmed and clean. Good Job
Solid entry overall, very funny idea with well executed mechanics, I really enjoyed it. There is a weird atmoshpere that really makes the game unique. Congrats :)

Hey, I was told I was going to rage quit, but turns out this was actually a pretty fun submission! The "hit-boxes" for the arrow keys felt a bit off from the music, but maybe that's just my perception because I suck at rhythm games. "You need to train, kid!" Solid submission!
@Darkphnx I'm glad you had fun ! Sorry for the sync problem between the arrows and the music. It's my first rhythm game and I took a very "bruteforce" approach to the problem ! I managed to fix >90% of the sync in the post-jam version, without rewriting code. There is still some room for improvement but it's really hard to notice now. I was still somehow a bit too ambitious with this game. I would have loved to polish it more. Well that's why I'm still working on it when I have time :)

Fantastic game!
As for my nitpicks, the tolerance area should probably be centered _around_ the matching keys, and not below. Or even perhaps 33% early tolerance 67% late tolerance, or some other ratio.
@kroltan This is actually a very good idea and it's the first time I hear it. Thank you for your honest relaxed gameplay. I had fun watching you !

Nice RPG/TRhythm combo. Polished with nice art. I wish the movement speed was a bit faster though. I think I encountered the battles a weird order at first, but I was able to do them :)
@Strega Thank you for playing and for your nice comment! I totally agree with the movement speed and added the possibility to run with left shift in the post-jam version. I still need to add a sign to inform the player though.
Now that was a very polished experience and the look of the overworld reminded me quite a bit of Mario + Rabbids. You even had a nicely drawn intro! The gameplay itself was a bit too hard for me, never managed to get to the castle, but probably that's down to not being used to the layout of the button-lanes. Also, thank you for the save-feature! It saved the day as my camera was running out of juice. So the game has a stunning amount of content and polish for that small a team. Good job! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=md_wmDhaD_w
@PhilStrahl
Dude, you are a hero. Producing your keynote, participating in the jam, and then producing videos of gameplay. I hope you plan to rest for a week after that ;-) You deserve it.
"This is on the brink of frustrating me" haha I'm SO sorry. I tested the game a lot and was frustrated too. I knew the notes were slightly out of sync but I couldn't fix it fast enough and the project was too big (which is my #1 mistake) so I did what every dev is tempted to do at some point : turn a bug into a feature. I made the game more and more difficult, and the whole point was to make the player quit at some point, with frustration. I thought "Getting Over It is doing it, so I can do it too!". But honestly I felt so bad watching you suffer during the last 10 minutes. This was evil. At the same time it really shows how kind and patient you are ! The least I can do now is honor my promise, and I hope you can forgive me. The package will be on its way either tomorrow or on Monday.
Your feedback was super useful to me, and I agree with all the negative points. The first point is to fix the rhythm game and add a difficulty option. I plan to fix all the other problems you and others mentioned and make it into my first very humble mini-game.
We small indies are so lucky to have you ! Much love <3
I loved your game! Your art style is adorable and fun and it totally fits the game. It's reminded me happy three friends when i was a lil kid xD GJ man

Was a lot of fun. I wanted to keep playing but I have other people in queue so I had to cut it short. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260564114?t=01h43m01s I think that the % is not counting presses that are additive to the pattern example if the pattern is right right right and I spam right right right right right with two in between I felt like those were not counted against me. I could be wrong though :)
@EPIIC - LesGougnafiers Thank you! Actually my dream would have been to have the bunnies explode just like they do in Happy Tree Friends. Clearly a reference here !
@tigerj You are right there is no punishment for extra presses. It is actually a way to cheat, just spam all the keys. I had a lot of fun watching a friend finish the game that way, and I wanted to make a special ending for the "cheaters". Maybe one day ! I reuploaded the Jam version by the way, sorry for not spotting this earlier. I'm glad I at least had that watermark there.
Thank you for your time. You got a new subscriber on Youtube btw.
What a cute game!... Also scary... BUT it was really fun nonetheless! I liked the audio, it was really well made! Overall, great game!
I played the Web version, so I won't rate you. But wow, this is a cute game! I looove the simple and clean visuals as well as the simple and clean tunes! The implementation is super smooth, too. I am delighted!
One thing I would change is a simple increase in walking speed instead of a dedicated run button. When the player constantly holds down the running button with no drawback, there basically is no need for it. But maybe it's just personal.
Anyway, nice game! The bunnies and their sweet tunes will stay on my mind for a while. Have a fish <3 🐟
What a very fun entry!! The character design, visuals, humour and mood were all very good! The game idea itself was good, the downside is the slight sync issues on some of the levels. I could see the story was the element of RPG, it felt like going to pokemon battles with other trainers when you talk to them :D I'm not too sure how much the genres conflict, as it seems a nice way to balance dancing through having short levels to overcome and some stories varies! Really enjoyable entry <3
I played it after the rate time, but really liked it)
Still lacks a bit of polishing on rythm part (no mistakes punishment, and a bit bad tracking of input). Also would add at least some meat at the end, king was a lie :(
In general - really funny game!)
