green phosphor terminal, scanlines, the typed-out "hard drive corruption 97%" intro, good tension. only got through the intro so i cant talk about the shooting. letting a click finish the text would help on replays

zevwax 2026-10-19 13:52 ♥ 0

Thank you for the game!

welovegames 2026-10-20 04:07 ♥ 0

I wanted more room to experiment with the construction system, but the early difficulty made that hard. After six attempts, I still couldn't reach 1 MFLOPS. Fewer enemies and less frequent enemy fire during the first three levels would have helped me learn the game and try different builds. The intro also felt too long and text-heavy. More building options and a gentler start would have made the game more enjoyable for me.

willops 2026-10-20 04:11 ♥ 1

@welovegames Dang... and here I was thinking that I made the game too easy XD

wewrutuwertrer 2026-10-20 04:27 ♥ 0

Cool sound design and graphics!! I like the idea of seeing your previous cyberjacks in the game, forces you to be a little more mindful of your decisions. But overall the gameplay was a little too hard for me >_< Enjoyed this game anyway, good job!!

nathmate 2026-10-20 04:43 ♥ 0

I liked the audio, and the risk-reward balance of designing a build you'll have to fight later. It would've been cool to be able to rotate the components, but I'm guessing you didn't want to have to write enemy AI dealing with weird layouts, or make a control scheme for weird thruster orientations.

One QA quibble is if you go into the first level with no weapon it'll deadlock. Also it'd be nice to be able to speed up or skip the intro.

mikeware 2026-10-20 06:48 ♥ 0

It'd be great to repeat the controls in the game description on itch. I added the health box on top, then the gun, and got stuck in the corner with an enemy on each side I couldn't shoot. But love this concept and the aesthetic. So cool! Caught your game on TigerJ's stream. Great chatting with everyone there!

blus7 2026-10-20 07:22 ♥ 1

I think I’ve hit a softlock.

willops 2026-10-20 18:54 ♥ 0

@blus7 Yeah I didn't quite have time to fix that, I just kinda hoped that it would be self-evident you needed at least one gun, sorry about that

willops 2026-10-20 18:54 ♥ 0

@mikeware Added em! Thanks for the suggestion

willops 2026-10-20 18:55 ♥ 0

@nathmate Yeah I considered being able to rotate components, but it was too exploitable with the enemy AI. I would've had to write very complex enemy code to get that to work

ulziton 2026-10-20 23:29 ♥ 0

AMAZING GAME, such a cool idea, the amount of feedback and mechanincs is enormous

cheeks 2026-10-20 23:47 ♥ 1

The game is cool, I wish the r to restart would work before you die, I went in with no gun and the enemies had no gun so they just pushed me around until I refreshed the browser and had to rewatch the long intro, and then I did it again by accident when I thought I had a gun and had to just give up at that point. But I unlocked every attachment on my first run.

grizwhirl 2026-10-20 23:48 ♥ 0

Would be neat to have a bit more play with the upgrades early, difficulty curve is maybe tuned a tad steep. Seemed like I could only get past further levels when the ai glitches out and runs away the whole time

willops 2026-10-20 23:54 ♥ 0

@cheeks Ah yeah that would have been a good feature, unfortunately it was really down to the wire to cram in all the features I wanted so some polish had to be left out

willops 2026-10-20 23:56 ♥ 0

@grizwhirl Yeah... it was a bit of an oversight. Part of me wishes you could make balance changes and tweaks post-submission, but that'd be against the spirit of the compo

bigwhiteshogun 2026-10-21 00:06 ♥ 3

Hard? Naaah. I think it's spot on. Beat it on the first try, though when it says in the end screen to press any button to continue the game froze and I couldn't do anything. Even when I left the full screen mode on itch it wouldn't let me to open full screen again. I'm also a huge fan of unlocking "special" stuff for people who want a little extra on top. High replay value is always a thing I appreciate a lot and know it's not always easy to add it so kudos to you for doing so.

This game peaked my interested when I saw Tiger playing it on their stream yesterday. It is fun, clever, well polished and rewards players skills and their strategy. Even simplistic artstyle fits this title really well. Great entry!

For people who struggle, be a TANK! You do not have to be fast or mobile in general if they puny guns cannot hurt you ;)

willops 2026-10-21 00:14 ♥ 1

@bigwhiteshogun That's kinda what I thought. Reloading the browser and playing through hard mode is more of a genuine challenge, but I didn't feel the normal mode was THAT hard, but it seems most people can barely get past the first few waves

yibirabbit007 2026-10-21 01:53 ♥ 0

I think it would be great to turn the theme of Zero Day into an antivirus software to attack malicious patches on web pages. The current airplane battle is also very pleasant to watch ❤️

eugenik 2026-10-21 02:23 ♥ 1

I really liked the premise of designing your cyberjack from the ground up. That risk/reward feeling of assembling a powerful build just to have to fight your own previous, less capable versions is a fantastic mechanical loop. Great concept!

tigerj 2026-10-21 15:47 ♥ 1

ugh @bigwhiteshogun made my dream ship in their comment's image. I should have went for more health. This was sooooo much fun. thanks for sharing it.

znaxerers 2026-10-22 01:06 ♥ 1

Very fun game, I find stacking the melee attack really fun. Only peeve I have is not being able to skip the opening cutscene - also Hard mode feels really hard ToT

willops 2026-10-22 01:10 ♥ 1

@znaxerers Yeah it's pretty brutal, you have to be really strategic with abusing the enemy AI. It is winnable though!

nesmon 2026-10-22 19:46 ♥ 2

Thanks for this game! It's really amazing and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I only noticed two issues though: a soft lock on the start and an unskippable intro.

willops 2026-10-22 19:48 ♥ 1

@nesmon Yeah, it was just so down to the wire cramming in all the features I wanted (and getting stuck on the algorithm to make sure all your ship parts were connected for like 4 hours ; - ;), that I didn't have time to do a polish step like I normally do, so some weird issues and balance problems slipped through

freamdev 2026-10-22 19:48 ♥ 1

Pretty intresting concept, intro could of use a click to full print the page, I know I know goddamn tiktok generation. Would love to hear some about how you made the enemies behave correctly depending on whatever you build. Very nice entry!

willops 2026-10-22 19:52 ♥ 1

@freamdev Thanks for the feedback! Yeah that's a common suggestion. Something that would have taken like 30 seconds to implement but just slipped my mind, ah oh well, next time!

As for the enemy AI, most of them don't actually change their behavior depending on the weapons you give them, and that's part of the strategy, like exploiting how the RANSOM will only attack from a long range. With the DAEMON, I just sledgehammered it and wrote in seperate AIs for each weapon you give it XD

fifut 2026-10-22 19:52 ♥ 1

What a great find. This game has real potential. It's kind of like an incremental game with a building element.

Thank you for your game, and congratulations! 👍

freamdev 2026-10-22 19:55 ♥ 1

@willops I see 😄 sometimes brute force is the right way to go!

thoastbot 2026-10-22 19:58 ♥ 1

Nice graphics, loved the monitor effect.

Struggled a bit with placing parts cause they kept on connecting with the center piece. Sounds and music was fitting, gameplay felt a bit stiff, but i feel like thats on me for not building a better ship xd

Overall good job!

depression 2026-10-22 20:21 ♥ 1

Got to wave 8 before being obliterated

Very simple but fun game! I only wish that there was an opportunity to mismatch parts to create some goofy ships

Also you can juke enemies by creating ships with long wings - they get stuck around the corners :)

aleksey-salion 2026-10-22 20:35 ♥ 1

It's fun, it's simple and it vibes! Love it ✌️

custodi 2026-10-22 21:08 ♥ 1

Cool idea of roguelike to construct your ship from module parts. Like the simple, minimalist visual style Had some problems with first levels, but dealt with them!

darwyn 2026-10-22 22:26 ♥ 1

Hehe, I had exactly the same situation as @blus7. The text at the beginning should be skippable or at least playable at a faster speed. I think the monitor effect is really well done, as is the ship's momentum. Nice game

braulio-jg 2026-10-23 00:00 ♥ 1

For me, this is a top entry. I would also like to be able to use "R" before dying and see the parts you remove marked in some way, as I found it not being exactly the part your mouse is at. Also, I got stuck between the enemies and the wall a few times, but the idea, the difficulty, the strategy and the cleanliness of the finished game is peak!

ethernal-tech 2026-10-23 00:23 ♥ 1

Absolutely impressive! Being able to build my own ship is such a complex and interesting system, and the quality of the execution is amazing.

Great job! Definitely one of my favorite games I’ve played in this Ludum Dare edition.

cupofcuppuccino 2026-10-23 17:08 ♥ 1

Eyyy very cool monitor!!! nice intro and the game itself is also fun to play. The positioning of components have a bit of an offset, but does not hinder the construction (simply a bit weird to control) Also got softlocked somewhere during the game, and without a button to exit I had to restart. Still, nice concept and artistic theme! Great job without AI, I enjoyed playing this.

rolly 2026-10-23 21:20 ♥ 1

Wow that's really difficult! I couldn't make it further than wave 8 😄

I really like the concept of fighting against your previous blueprints, and their AI is actually pretty convincing! Good job!

Also good job on your visuals, your monitor is very convincing.

The music was a bit too repetitive in my opinion, but it has this nice retro vibe too it, so it fits pretty well!

Good job overall, nice entry!

tomtomgome 2026-10-24 19:19 ♥ 1

I really loved it! I loved the music, it's amazing.

Took me three tries, and my strategy became : "Just be stronger and faster that the previous run", and it works more than trying to outsmart the waves (at least for me). But I think that would not have worked in hard mode.

Everything is well put together and feels polished, congrats!

willops 2026-10-24 22:54 ♥ 0

@tomtomgome Yeah on normal you can win by just making a better and better ship, but on hard you really need to strategize. Thanks for the rating!

coleslaughter 2026-10-25 00:34 ♥ 0

[Thanks for submitting your game to stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2909045755?t=02h26m22s)

I loooove this idea, having to fight hordes of enemies modeled after your previous build.

I wish I was a bit more motivated to experiment with different weapons and variations, but once I unlocked the ricochet bullets, I was basically all set. 😅

Balance is tough to get right in a jam tho, so I'd bet with a few tweaks this would be an easy problem to solve.
