Fun take on the theme with the mechanics. Would have liked to play a few more levels with different variable factors but still a really cool little concept.

cursedembassy 2021-04-26 23:41

lol clever!

ceejap 2021-04-27 00:03

Wow, a very innovative concept here. I could definitely see this as a fully-fledged puzzle game, and I also liked the take on the theme.

cinderblade 2021-04-27 10:49

the concept is super cool but was really short and easy, would be a really cool game with some more levels and graphics/sound!

smelly-games 2021-04-27 13:17

Nice. It'd be cool to have a bunch of secret interactions, as though it were a kind of physics sandbox.

fiakaiera 2021-04-27 13:53

This is short and sweet, but very innovative!

If pushed further, there's a lot of puzzles you can do with this! Quite a fun and small little concept you can definitely push further. Try to keep that in mind for the future, as this could be a nice little small puzzle you can place in other games too!

oddarock 2021-04-27 23:05

A really good idea, very innovative. I personnaly would have enjoyed a longer gameplay and more puzzles. the different interactions between the layers is very interesting and feels "natural". Nice entry.

msnider 2021-04-28 02:18

Innovative idea here! I would have liked to play few more levels with varying challenges, but very neat idea!

tengusheath 2021-04-28 02:49

Nice concept, but a little short.

jpgfg 2021-04-28 04:07

outside the box thinking thinking about the theme for sure, could for sure see it fleshed out as a puzzle game because it is a little short.

xxnolanxx 2021-04-28 04:11

Dang, I was really excited for this one and it ended so fast. Would love to see you keep going with this! Really cool idea and I could see some really interesting puzzles coming out of this.

I'll join the chorus of voices wishing that this were longer--as it stands, this feels like an excellent proof-of-concept for a cool puzzler, or maybe the first level. With additional environments and puzzles, you'd have a real winner here!

Also something really tickled me with the way you handled the "END". Maybe it was the way you read it, or the bold font over the tree--speaking of which, the animation of the tree was nice, and the art style is cool and distinctive. Very enjoyable!

beats 2021-04-28 06:33

@breadstick Thanks for appreciating the "End.", heavy inspiration from Prometheus and Bob.

eugenik 2021-04-28 14:21

Very fun experience!.

sam-minh 2021-04-28 14:27

I appreciate the text to speech. The game is quite hilarious albeit short, but sweet. It knows what it is and does that well, so good job!

binaryspark 2021-04-28 14:29

A short but sweet experience! Also, nice voice acting

neonian 2021-04-28 14:36

Very interesting and cool concept

arttu-halonen 2021-04-28 15:01

There's some potential here for a lot more! Keep it up!

sendnoose 2021-04-28 15:17

Wow that was... short. I was getting intrigued really. Do not appreciate pan in the face with the "End" there (just kidding I laughed a bit too hard on that). It's a pretty pleasant game. Shame it's a bit short.

dom-de-re 2021-05-01 05:44

Good artstyle and interesting interpretation of the theme!

alexascher 2021-05-01 11:36

too short

tigerj 2021-05-02 17:30

I thought this was a cool and unique entry for the theme. Nice interpretation and execution. Voice acting tutorial was an impressive touch.

pattedecanaard 2021-05-02 17:39

It's a short game, but a very interesting puzzle concept and a good take on the theme. Nice work !

scout 2021-05-07 00:49

Definitely a cool idea and it was an interesting idea for a puzzle game I would love to see more as it was a bit short.

dragonzbw 2021-05-08 22:56

Cool idea! The game did feel like one big tutorial, though. I would've liked to see more applications of these mechanics in some puzzles where the solution isn't told to you outright. Definitely has some great potential though, I think you could really have something if you continue working on this.

jacic 2021-05-11 22:59

Very nice! It's short, but I feel like this idea is rock solid. Rather Inception-like. :)

beats 2021-05-12 01:59

@jacic Definitely Inception-inspired for sure

coleslaughter 2021-05-13 01:19

I reeeeeeeeeeeeeally like the potential here. I can totally see this getting expanded into wider "substates" with different interactions to accomplish a goal. A pretty creative mechanic overall, nice job!

evan 2021-05-14 06:26

The concept here is really unique and interesting! I like how you narrated the game, you don't see that a lot in jam games

sparked99 2021-05-15 19:49

Very cool concept for a puzzle game. It would have been nice to have a couple more levels because the whole game feels like it's just the tutorial level. I did like the little cut scene you did at the end. Good entry. :)

pkenney 2021-05-16 16:19

Love this kind of short really unique entry, great job! The audio is top-notch: voice tutorial is a great way to make it fun to learn this really unusual system, music fits super-well, and the sound effect for moving up/down levels is nice. Graphics were clear and direct. Game duration was great -- let me play around with this system, have a few surprises and test my knowledge, and then ended without me having any chance to get tired of it: ended while I still wanted more.

Critique-wise I can only offer one thing: maybe the controls could be simplified, I don't know if there is value to moving up/down with the arrows, so instead of the split arrows-and-WS, you could just have left/right move on the level and up/down switch between. Not that this mattered at all in such a short game.

Nice entry! And so different from your soundcloud concert game that I remember playing before, love seeing that variety of types of entries.
