This entry has some cool qualities, but I'm afraid most players will miss it because of a lack of visual feedback. My guess is that a lot the available of time was put into the structure of upgrades and the actual gameplay suffered as a result.

I like the concept and want this one to be more "filled out" so that it can be more fun to play!

Graphics looks weird but the game is fun :) Well done.

Good potential! Has a lot of options and upgrades, and music is great and active. But gameplay is pretty straight.

Kind of meh graphics, but I liked the upgrade system and theme in general, a fun entry !

dreadloaf 2017-08-03 03:06

Pretty indepth upgrade system which is kind of hard to grasp at first but once you get the hang of it its pretty great. Nice job!

Fun game. It would be nice to have an option to move the camera with WASD/arrow keys instead of mouse.

**Good:** Interesting mechanics, feels like a strategy game. The map is nice, even if you can't interact with all the objects. The graphics are not so bad, everything follows the same theme.

**Bad:** Too little visual feedback. It's easy to understand what you are doing, but you can interact only with the power plants, so you get bored after a time.

Pretty fun and generally interesting to play, the graphics are a bit weird but fit the purpose. Overall though, well done and best of luck!

Unfortunately I cannot play your Windows 64 bit game on my 32 bit machine, could you add another build?

sokette 2017-08-04 19:12

I had no idea how to play the game, so I just attacked everything. Then everything on my side was under attack and I could not figure out a way to defend :D

We streamed your game with Danae plays on Twitch. :) Here's a link:

[Danae streams Ludum Dare 39: Day 2, part 1: Energia](https://youtu.be/bhOEvC7XxZo?t=1h56m30s)

It's a cool little game, but it is in dire need of good UI feedback! I would like to know which power plant I have currently selected, which skill does what by means of tooltip (instead of having to go to the separate help screen), when I gain skill points. I would like to know which of my power plants is under attack, without having to look around the whole map, same for attacks. Plants hiding behind the sidebar are a problem.

Other than that, how about some variety in the plants themselves? E.g. some could be "large", some "small", and the small ones could only perform two of the three utility / defend actions, etc.

It's a simple game (with a cool soundtrack!), but good job!

Cool Game idea wish the graphics were better. good game overall tho.

Great game that was fun to play. If there was more time it would have been helpful to have feedback; sometimes I didn't know why I couldn't do an ability or buy a skill. Overall had a lot of fun, thanks for making the game!

almax 2017-08-05 19:36

Nice game, needs a few extra visualisations to show exactly what's happening in places, nice overall mood

Hey @aemiliu5, @thesheepster - [you put your game on my list to play](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/end-of-time/whos-not-had-any-love-link-your-game-for-me-to-play), and [I streamed the play-through on Friday](https://youtu.be/-DEvWdMWCKk?t=6523), I really liked the name and idea of the game. I'm not a fan of the logo though, it looks like someone giving the finger, and that's not a great first impression (not great at all).

Otherwise though, I liked the game, it needs a bit more feedback, and a few hover prompts, but I liked the idea, trying to take over the city :)

jimbly 2017-08-10 18:39

Neat game. Had a hard time telling what was going on some times. Wasn't sure what got me more skill points, and when, or if there was an end goal, though at some point it said I drained all of the energy of the city and won, so I'll take that as a victory =).

maybelaterx 2017-08-10 18:57

Had a real tough time figuring out a lot of what was going on this game. Attacking/defending was clear enough once I'd read the instructions, but there's a real lack of detail in a lot of the options - the upgrades path should show a description of the upgrade on hover. Do upgrades cost money? Skill points? I couldn't see anything that told me, only that I was unable to afford them. I also found it strange that I couldn't upgrade specific skills, and it would just upgrade the tree to the next level of upgrade - what if I want my level 2 skill 1 ability early? It looked like a lot of effort was put into the skill tree but I couldn't afford to spend time flitting from the help menu to the skills tree while the game was going on. A shame, because I feel like if I understood this game a little more it would have greatly increased my enjoyment of the game.

krunoslav 2017-08-10 19:54

I liked! We take the same approach: attack central plants. I liked all the upgrades.

In some moment I did not receive more XP so I could not transform money into energy so I could not use all the power of the game. But I won ;)

norrimo 2017-08-10 20:58

Wow. What a complex game. :o I love these strategy stuff. But it would be more enjoyable if I could see what are the abilities makes direct in the skill tree. Because to switch every time to the help window is contra productive for the game flow. Thanks for this long gameplay. :)
