Hey guys, I can't see the links, it's some sort of bug I'm having?

iceeye 2018-08-14 21:57

Your download link is broken friend, I'd really like to check out your game :)

iokin 2018-08-14 22:00

I wanna play your game, but I have only Linux Mint on my machine. I can’t rate your game, sorry. See our game (it’s multiplatform).

player-2 2018-08-14 22:01

You link leads to an empty page, would love to check out your game as the pictures look interesting. Almost Super-Hot esk.

rother-games 2018-08-14 22:09

Your game looks very good, but I didn't understand what I have to do

jk-studio 2018-08-14 22:10

The game has nice art and is really relaxeing but I dont see how it relates to the Theme?

monetai 2018-08-14 22:15

I had no problem with the link, the game is beautiful, the music add a lot to the atmosphere, I really like the simple puzzle but I couldn't find what to do after the second one.

joschi 2018-08-14 22:31

I could download your game. Realy nice graphics, but I couldn't understand the goal, after I get the two balls nothing happened. The Soundtrack was really nice too!

norrimo 2018-08-15 04:03

@iceeye @rodrigo-molina @player-2 The link works. :D

@monetai @joschi I am really sorry for this. D: Usually something would have been activated at the altar by the balls. The problem has now been solved. It was just a missing tick on one of the prefabs. Chek it out now. Everything should work.

@iokin We will check it out. :D And a mac build is coming soon.

iokin 2018-08-15 07:32

@norrimo thank you, I will wait)

noah-beckman 2018-08-15 17:41

This Game is Amazing! I love the graphics and visual effects like the clouds. The music also add a great ambient touch to the entire game and makes it flow really well. I would recommend that you add some form of instructions because i found it a bit confusing, i just walked around till what i thought was the end of the game. However, this game looks and feels amazing. I could totally seeing this visual type of game being expanded into a very large exploration, puzzle, story game. Overall great Job!

Come check out our game as well! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/bus-stop-blast

plopsis 2018-08-15 17:45

could use some pointers as what to do. Had some errors about mono, but the it did start on second try. Theme didn't really work with this.

marin0104 2018-08-15 17:51

Very nice graphics and mood. But i did not get the goal of your game, despite i've understood your message  . What am i supposed to do at the top of the blue structure? I've just fired a lot of stars

In the end, very relaxing gameplay and a nice experience.

maskinmask 2018-08-15 17:57

This Game is really cool! I love the graphics very much! welcome to check out my game( ˘꒳˘ )

lootgrounds 2018-08-15 18:20

The mood and visuals are very well done. But I didn't get when game ends or if it ever ends, though shooting stars was kinda cool

yetman 2018-08-15 18:23

Art and mood are great. I spent some time just staring at the clouds wondering how you did it till I realized that they were particles. I understand the message but I still prefer to give my dark thoughts 100% of my capacity. I am not sure whether I finished the game or not; I quit after the white thoughts appeared and nothing else seemed to respond to my actions. Overall, it was nice experience. Well done.

flower 2018-08-15 19:51

Game looks awesome!) It's one of the best game on this LD)

landberglife 2018-08-15 20:29

Hello sasinka and Norrimo, I really liked the game you put together, I'm not sure if I finished it or not though. A nice confirmation on when the game is completed would be nice. I hope i did not miss anything. Another thing I would like to add is that since you game is very bright and you have a white text it could at times be hard to read. Maybe add a border to the text or something similar to make sure that the players don't miss out on your story.

antoined73 2018-08-15 21:15

Wow, super nice experience. I just love game like that, you have a nice color palette, the music is super nice (but doesn't loop very well) and the sound made when the elevator was rising is super cool. Just to make your game better, I think te sound when you collect a dark tought doesn't fit in the theme and is very loud. And when you reach the top of the elevator there is 3 holes and I thought i needed to place the dark balls in these but apparently not. Also a properly end could have been nice to indicate that the game is finished. Anyway super nice entry, gived me emotions and made me thought about my own feelings and try to think less about dark things. <3 Please play my game if you wish, i tried to make a game with a lot of mood too :)

eoku 2018-08-16 02:16

It's beautiful. I love it.

norrimo 2018-08-16 08:36

@noah-beckman Thank you. :D Well, we wanted to create a more 'walk around and try things out' experience, but It can definitely improved. If you have found the new created thoughts than you have reached the end of the content. And yes, we planned to work a bit more on this project and want to do more beautiful stuff. And I will check out your game today too. :)

norrimo 2018-08-16 08:45

@plopsis What for errors? I had never seen something of this before. Could be problematic if this happens more often. D:

Yeah, maybe the theme is not so obvious. We wanted to take more the abstract idea of 'Running out of space' because it's often related to physical situations. So we wanted to go in a non-physical direction. It is the space in your mind. :D

norrimo 2018-08-16 09:40

@marin0104 Yes, you have to fire these stars to create new thoughts. :D

norrimo 2018-08-16 09:44

@landberglife Really thanks for that advice. We will improve this. :)

inferture 2018-08-16 13:42

I also reached the point where these pure thoughts appeared and was confused as to what I had to do. I found the secret key to generate stars and spent a few minutes trying to catch one as I thought it was what was needed to continue x) Very nice graphics, the music is totally adapted to the game. The mood and the calm reflexive atmosphhere were enjoyable. Nice game overall ^^

talia 2018-08-16 14:41

One of your best jams even if you have not finished. The mood you create is really great. It consists of the feeling of being above the clouds, to be alone and yet not alone and also to be not quite finished at the end. It's nice that you took the time to work on it.

tuism 2018-08-16 15:50

Is there anything for mac users? Web? Mac build?

xarras 2018-08-16 16:13

Great, something different feels so good, graphics are great, the concept is good, the music fits perfect. I feel like it could have so much more with little narrative effort while keeping it minimalist, of course. Awesome overall.

aayush 2018-08-16 16:14

I really dig the design and the atmosphere this game creates. Solid entry! P.S. I managed to break the game somehow? Screenshot (194).png

norrimo 2018-08-16 17:10

@talia Tank you. That means a lot for me to hear that I have become better at making games. But you also.:D

@tuism Not yet but we will upload one soon. I inform you if that happens. :)

@xarras Thank's. :D Yeah, at the beginning of the Ludum Dare, we planned to implement much more storytelling than we currently have.

@aayush Yeah, thank you. But how you did this and what happened exactly? Do you mean this thin thing in the sky? :o

kokonaught 2018-08-16 17:13

The atmosphere is great, the art is extremely pleasing and the music relaxing.

I like the sense of mystery your game has, and its introspective nature. The "puzzle" were not very imaginative though.

I'm not sure if I finished the game. I got to the top of the tower, shot stars, then found a secret platform that told me I could shoot stars with "R" and... that's it?

Good entry overall, even if I'm not too sure how it fits the theme.

One last point: if you're gonna use WASD for your control scheme, please make a rebind option so that other types of keyboards can play too. Not everyone uses a QWERTY keyboard :)

aayush 2018-08-16 17:17

@norrimo I believe I am way high up in the skybox. I fell into the tall white structure, that's when it happened. I can't seem to reproduce it now, may have been a collider issue.

norrimo 2018-08-16 17:37

@kokonaught Yeah, maybe the theme in our game is not so obvious. We wanted to take more the abstract idea of ‘Running out of space’ because it’s often related to physical situations where things shrink or become less. So we wanted to go in a non-physical direction. It is the space in your mind and some thoughts takes sometimes too much space and blocking us in our daily life. :D And thank's for the QWERTY advice. The funny thing is, that my keyboard is a QWERTZ. xD

@aayush Ah, I understand. I will see if I can fix this. Thank's for the bug report. :)

jeke 2018-08-16 18:31

Amazing environment you have created.

rodrigo-denubila 2018-08-17 05:50

Beautiful!!! I loved the philosophical touch in the game and your approach of the theme. Really good job!

bustosman 2018-08-17 10:46

It wasn't as fun since this game is really just a walk and interact game, but did excellent in terms of visuals and audio. I feel that mood could have been scored higher if there was dialogue that better suited the game, because it came off as pretty simple. Good entry!

kiirohanabi 2018-08-17 10:47

Clouds and shooting stars, all I need in life! Great graphics and interesting narrative, I like how low-poly 3D spaces give room to more abstract places and ideas.

Did you choose shooting stars because of the current meteor shower that reached it's maximum during this Ludum Dare? I'd really like to know, I did it in my game and it would be really cool if someone had the same idea :D

demn 2018-08-17 10:50

Hey ! I really your game's whole vibe. It's smooth and chill, and I found it great how you did insert other elements in this atmosphere (with the vinyl CD for instance). It reminded me a lot of some stuff you can witness in The Witness (now that's a pun), where some elements might seem odd, but actually add another layer of meanings to the game. The audio is good, and the game plays good, but I would really like to give you credits for the art and design, which reminds me a lot of Rime in a more "terrestrial" palette, with brownish colors. Also, I used to little secret to take a shower made of stars. It was really good. Thanks you for this experience, and please keep working on games like this. Good job !

leeloo 2018-08-17 10:56

I love the style, this is definitly one of the most beatiful games so far. The sound and atmosphere is perfect. The little side quests with the dark shadow thingies are cute, but I wish they would react somehow when you solve their problem, even it is just another text exccept that the dark cloud vanishes. It is quite performance heavy, I had a very un-smooth gameplay which reduces the fun alot :( Another critism is that I don't see the theme anywhre. But beside these points it is an beatiful and really good game.

ekilibr 2018-08-17 11:25

Awesome mood. Went to talk to the second thoughts, no additional orb to find right? It's been a super calm and relaxing experience for my lunch break. Thanks for that! :)

anaglyphcoding 2018-08-17 11:40

Really nice atmosphere in this game, I managed to find the secret key to generate more stars :D I did find a glitch though I think, in the part where you need to find the heart and put it on the holder thing, I used one of the music discs instead and that seemed to work. Other than that, it was really relaxing and well made! Good job!

keyurrana 2018-08-17 12:48

Beautiful visuals and very relaxing game. Audio is good too.

However, a better indication for end game would be nicer. I kept wondering if there was anything more to do after finding the pure thoughs and the secret key.

Besides that, it's a pretty good game. Good job!

pnghasemi 2018-08-17 13:36

The gameplay was a bit off. I think it needed more work as an entry. But the graphics look good and the music matches the mood perfectly.

n-feofentov 2018-08-17 16:58

Really good and relaxing experience. A bit laggy on my old PC but looks very beautiful. Especially clouds) Music also creates specific mood.

I guess I didn't get to the end, but I found the 'secret' said I can shoot stars with button, but all the stars just flew through the ground and I couldn't catch them.

Good luck with your game!

norrimo 2018-08-17 17:20

@kiirohanabi Haha. The funny fact is that I didn't knew that a meteor shower was on the weekend. I found out only yesterday about that and was very surprised by this coincidence. :D

@n-feofentov If you have found the new created thoughts than you have reached the end of the current existing story. And thank you! I will improve it by time. :)

coomzy 2018-08-17 23:02

I'm not really a big fan of walking simulators, and for me it didn't offer anything it terms of gameplay so I didn't find it "fun" however, the overall art was really nice the only little niggle (and it is a little niggle especially for a game jam) with the graphical side is gaps between geometry and sometimes the lighting would come through this. I didn't really find the way of interacting and reading that text that engaging but hey that isn't usually my kind of thing, so maybe that's a unfair point.

All in all, still really cool looking game and it had a nice atmosphere.

You mention in the description that "Sounds from freesound.org" if you got the sounds/music from there you should opt out of the category, if it was stuff created during let me know and I'll come back and rate that category.

norrimo 2018-08-18 00:01

@coomzy Thank you for your feedback. Yeah, the graphical aspect is something we could'nt fix at the end of the LD. But we will do this in a later version. :) And yes, it's true that we used some sounds from this page. We only made the soundeffects by ourself but not the nice ambient background music. We were not sure if we should accept a rating or not. So, you are probably right because the most of the people have rated in this categorie because of the nice ambient track.

hyprgloo 2018-08-18 01:33

Incredible, meditative game. The cloud effect surrounding the level was a nice touch. This is one of the few games this LD that seems to have really mastered it's aesthetic. I actually completed a class final exam today, and I felt like this game communicated a very applicable, very reassuring message (thanks for that ). Superb job!

randomphantom 2018-08-18 07:45

The mood and atmosphere is awesome in this one, so serene and peaceful, very different from the other LD entries. Not sure if there's a proper ending, but I managed to make the white beings appear and find out the trigger for the stars? Not sure how the theme works in here though. Still, really nice!

namnam 2018-08-18 12:34

Nice atmospheric game. I love the way you did the could (and i'm quite curious about it). Very relaxing mood but a little bit too short.

virtual-turtle-studio 2018-08-18 13:53

What an experience! This is exactly something I wouldn't expect from a jam game, but I love it. It's the art of taking something so simplistic and fragile and turning it into a thought-provoking experience. You guys have done really well! I really don't have any feedback, there were some minor visual glitches here and there, but that really doesn't matter in a game like this. I totally relate on the use of the theme, sometimes you do feel like your whole day can be filled with certain thoughts, whether these are good or bad can really change the kind of person you are that day. The visual style is exceptionally pleasant and really compliments the theme choice, also. Keep doing what you guys are doing, congratulations!

nam-nguyen 2018-08-18 19:40

I really like the overall experience, the game scores very high for graphics and mood for me. Shooting stars is very satisfying, and after that I didnt know what else to do. I wish there was another camera down at the temple so I can see the beautiful stars falling down like in your introduction. The connection to the theme is a bit loose, otherwise I think the game is very polished and is definitely worth a post-jam version!

andrei9 2018-08-18 20:55

Nice game! Really good job!

drikdrok 2018-08-18 21:07

I'm honestly not a huge fan... It was kind of confusing to figure out what to do, and what you did was not very entertaining. There was some sort of deep message which was fine I guess.

For me the best part was the graphics/artstyle

Overall ok game :)

toboggan 2018-08-18 22:19

Really lovely art/aesthetic... I got stuck and unsure how to proceed (playing the jam version), but i enjoyed what I played. The white text against white backgrounds made the UI hard to read in places, some shadow or a different colour would have been nice.

rayne 2018-08-19 01:04

This looks and feels amazing. I want to see more of this team

norrimo 2018-08-19 10:32

@namnam Thanks. :) In the coming days I will also explain how I did the clouds.

@virtual-turtle-studio Oh, that makes us happy. Not many see the LD theme in our game because we have used it maybe a bit too abstract for a jam. xD And we will make a polished post-jam version of this in couple of days. Will not so much bigger but maybe more beautiful as now.

@nam-nguyen Spoiler: Once you have found the "secret", you can shoot the stars from other positions. ;) And yes, we will do a post-jam version.

@toboggan Thanks for the advice. We will make the UI more handy in the next version. :)

@rayne Maybe soon. :D

mza 2018-08-19 19:23

Graphics are gorgeous. So is the choice of music. Its a great showcase. I found it difficult to get the thrid anf final black core though.

lndrstrll 2018-08-19 21:37

Beautiful game i love the atmosphere, the graphics (specially the smoke) and the music :cloud:

tuism 2018-08-20 08:32

Gorgeous and gorgeous and gorgeous. The art was simple but masterfully done, the sounds and music was great, though I think I missed sound effects? But it wasn't a big gaping hole, just a little nagging feeling.

The atmosphere is amazing. Those billowing clouds are just sublime. The models are simple but with enough variation in them to make them look great with static light source. Really good. They don't look like they had baked lighting? Why not? :)

Never found the last secret :)

The sentiments are surreal and good, though the "gameplay" was a little lacking, but that's just the nature of something like this. It's not really engaging in a mechanical sense.

anastasiats 2018-08-20 21:06

The graphics and sounds are beautiful. I could lose myself in this environment. The first part where we had to gather the balls was nice, especially with the little hints given by those black spirits. once I collected them all and went in the tower, I did not understand what the goal was :(

That was the only true drawback for me. Congrats for this game !

wrenpirate 2018-08-21 02:52

The choice of sounds had a lot to do with creating a mysterious and engaging mood. After that, things didn't quite fulfill my hopes. The topography you've created is beautiful, but the bright daylight doesn't match the ethereal quality of the music. Perhaps toning down the palette would help. I liked the anachronism or whatever of a phonograph in the middle of this world. I liked the choice of music from the record. I liked the particle effect and sound of the cannon/star shooter. I just didn't know what any of it meant. Is there an arc? Is there any kind of story here? I understand that these are abstract thoughts, but I don't see how they connect to running out of room in memory or attention. Since the theme is not required, maybe it would have been better to simply say, "Hey, we made a pretty thing." I'm glad I took the time to explore your world.

norrimo 2018-08-21 09:48

@lndrstrll We are really proud of these clouds too. We will make a tutorial soon how we have made these. :D

@tuism Thanks man. :D Yeah, we changed really often something in the leveldesign and at the end we simply missed to bake it. And maybe it would be looking different as now ... so if we do it now it would maybe influence the graphical category and because of this we doing this in the post jam version. :) And the secret lies in a ... secret place. xD I can link you if the Post Jam version is released, if you want. Then you can try it again. ;)

@anastasiats The only "goal" for us was more that the player explore this world and feel good by wondering about all. You can create new thought and read them and that's it. I think games are more experiences which we create for other peoplse and sometimes they have no goal no end only the feeling to be in this creative world. (I know thats really abstract xD)

@wrenpirate Thank you for your advices. :D And there is no really story in there. Because to the end of the jam we had not so much time left to implement all thoughts. And it's only about these thoughts, about the thoughts everybody has sometimes and which block us in our daily life so that we have no room for other thoughts and things we could do. Hope that explains it a bit.

mowztouch 2018-08-21 10:55

Nice entry! the atmoshpere is well rendrered, with good graphics and audio. Original take on the theme, i liked it. If the game was longer, i'd have played it longer. I liked it, well done :)

corbak 2018-08-21 10:58

A lovely experience, without any doubt something cute it is. Shall we ? Well done :)

deniskazantsev 2018-08-21 11:08

Amazing art style! Found the secret place.

adroitconceptions 2018-08-21 11:51

* text was hard to read at 960x540 * graphics were well done * not really fond of walking simulators, so didn't find any fun. * the clouds were GPU intensive (made my FPS drop really low when I was 'outside')

inworks 2018-08-21 13:04

Very orginal entry and the visuals are stunning. Its a nice experience

vekstr 2018-08-21 13:14

Really love the atmosphere in games like this. Any clue on the final secret?

I think the game flow could use some improvement. I get that you want the player to move and discover things on themselves, but I still think it's important to give small clues or nudges here and there to guide the player through the game. It can be visual, audio, etc.

For example, you could rearrange the stone at the starting cave so that the player starts with the character facing the music cave. That way: - most players would probably go towards it first, which is actually what they have to do; - on their way back to the starting cave they probably find the staircase to the upper cave; - when putting the first ball and/or on their way to the upper cave, they would almost certainly notice the spire.

The thing with the current setup is that most players would probably go towards the spire first since it's likely the first interesting thing they see outside the cave, not to mention that long inviting bridge. At least that's what happened to me

Of course, that could be *the* experience that you intended. But I feel I should still point that out since I really like this kind of games and the subtlety in which designers can guide their players.

Oh and I noticed the blocked doorway at the starting cave, and the third ball slots at the stone that was already lit from the start. Was that intended or supposed to be a third thought that was cut due to the time limit?

Anyways, well done!

zinski 2018-08-21 16:24

I found this game really beautiful! Very poetic and dreamlike! I would have liked a few more puzzles and a longer life of the game but the atmosphere is already cool! I think that with some more puzzles, it would become an unforgettable experience like RIME in the same genre. Great job!

By the way please feel free to leave us some feedbacks on our game!

saoi-games 2018-08-22 07:16

Thank you for sharing your game with me. I played it on my stream tonight at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames

I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream.

You can hear my comments in the archive at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/300361630

syrapt0r 2018-08-22 20:34

Pros: - The mood was fantastic - Amazing soundtrack - Felt very complete - Nice art style

Cons: - Walking could be a bit faster

Fantastic entry! Thanks for making it!

pyrodaes 2018-08-27 10:41

I completed the game without trouble (didn't find the secret though!). Here are my thoughts: - I looooooved the graphics you managed to pull out! I loved the color palette, and the shapes, and the clouds! The mood is 5* - the controls could have been a bit smoother, but it's a jam after all - maybe its greatest weakness is narration-wise: I liked the actions and the symbolism but the dialogues sounded quite 'commonplace'. - the music could have had a bit more personality - I loved how you built the world: the long way to the crystal to build anticipation, the window showing the black star particles... I found it very intuitive. (only the jump to the star-shooter felt a bit wierd).

Great entry! :D

ava-skoog 2018-09-03 17:08

You really set a mood here! It's a pity I can't rate you for the audio since it fit so well and really helped the atmosphere. Really nice graphics and setting. Like everyone else my only real issue is that the game seemed to abruptly leave you with nothing left to do without properly announcing the end of it, but I guess that's how game jams tend to go sometimes! Would be cool to see what you could do with this post jam if you kept working on it. c:

bradleypollard 2018-09-03 21:39

Art and mood were fantastic, I think the walk speed could have been a tad higher. Couldn't find the last secret that was teased but enjoyed by time with the game nontheless.
