Great game! Enjoyed a lot, though mechanics could have been better. The movement felt snappy and accelerated movement would have been much better. Other than that it's a good concept with really cool graphics.
I liked your game! I am not quite sure if I understand it, though. But here's my interpretation anyway. I think when your character goes to sleep, he encounters all his negative thoughts in the form of "monsters". The green patches are his "safe space" where the monsters can't come? I might have completely butchered your narrative lol. Also, I didn't understand what the pickups were supposed to be. I guess it's too subtle? Or maybe I didn't play it enough. The gameplay and controls were really intuitive, and the graphics were pretty neat too. Good job overall! Last but not the least, lack of sfx and background music really showed and messed with the atmosphere you were going for. Cheers!
I really dig the design and the atmosphere this game creates. Solid entry! P.S. I managed to break the game somehow? Screenshot (194).png
@norrimo I believe I am way high up in the skybox. I fell into the tall white structure, that's when it happened. I can't seem to reproduce it now, may have been a collider issue.
Very well done! I would have never expected this much depth from a game jam title. A unique spin to the theme, with an awesome score in the background. 10/10
Looks really polished with the clean graphics and minimal UI. I really love the concept, but the movement felt a bit jarring to me. Because the platform is round, I often tried to go forward using the UP arrow key when I was on the side of the platform. Other than that, the game is top notch, the music complements the mood you are trying to set.
Excellent gameplay. It was a bit hard at first, but then I figured out the key, you can not possibly win without taking damage. I was struggling with the first opponent for too long before realizing that the combo doesn't reset after taking damage. I just hit her with a 50x combo and that was the end of that. Required a lot of focus to play, I was completely zoned in. Also, loved the art style! Would have been awesome if the notes were synced to the beat, but I had plenty of fun regardless! Solid entry.
Very nice mechanics! I liked the pace of the game and sound effects did justice to creating the tense atmosphere! I feel like this would make an excellent multiplayer game! This would be very enjoyable as a couch multiplayer and I really hope you release a full version of this!
I loved the art style and the music! Also, this game seems like a new take on Tetris. Got really hard after a few minutes. Good job overall!
Clean graphics! The music gives off a foresty vibe as well, creates a nice atmosphere. The animations could have been better though. Don't be afraid to go all out and create over the top exaggerated animations. That works best with 2D assets!
Nice mechanics you have going on there! I almost had a mental breakdown on the special mode lol. As others have already said, needs some polishing and sfx. Otherwise, I liked it, it's on the more innovative side.
So much content for a jam game! I liked the combat and it was fun exploring all the different combos! Loved the characters as well. Solid entry.
Nice concept, but the game could use some sort of tutorial to help understand the mechanics. Fun game after you know what to do!
Fun game, very nice atmosphere thanks to the artwork and music.
Nice use of shader graphs! Loved the aesthetics of the game. Also, I was able to keep the weapon I equipped even after I died. Not sure if it's intended behaviour or a bug, thought I'd let you know.
