Joey's Adventures by mato26 2016-08-31T15:26:00

@mvasko2 First of all, thank you very much for your comment and time looking at our game. We already started with further development. The lack of experiences was reason why we took wrong way of creating levels in the game, which ended up in us creating only 3 levels, thus levels started to be more confusing and much harder then the last one. But now since we are not forced to finish in 72 hours we are going to redo the whole map making system we used. But more about that possibly in the post mortem-y thingy.

Hopefuly we can make levels get harder step by step so they would not be that confusing :) But some indicators for door requirements would be also nice (how many requirements from needed are met). About the checkpoints, there are some basic ones (in the last level) but now that we have time we can play a bit more about this (maybe setting your own on some key press?).

Zooming camera also should not be a problem in the future development.

Once again thank you very much for checking out the game and giving back useful feedback!

Joey's Adventures by mato26 2016-08-31T18:31:00

Hey @Aaranos thanks for your feedback! I guess you are refering to the second level. However, there are no blind leaps in the game, at every point in the game you can see platforms where you can jump (of course if you are not out of fire already :D). Have you used S button to look down?

Joey's Adventures by mato26 2016-08-31T21:00:00

@Stending Thank you very much we understand that there is no description about the mechanics other then controls written in menu but to be honest we were happy we finished some rooms before the deadline :D in further development we want to include some tutorial levels at the beginning to show controls.

@Culturebosh_games Thank you for your time :) we are happy you enjoyed it :D

@Hero7785 I know it's not shown in the game itself but it's possible to look down with S button, so you can see platforms :). Actually it's always possible to see platforms to jump (at least from somewhere and while your torch is still not dead :D )

@Elit3dGaming Oh! Thank you very much :) really appreciate your time spent in the game :) and we are happy you liked the puzzles, they can be a bit confusing but we'll work on it! :)

Thank you guys :)

Joey's Adventures by mato26 2016-08-31T21:37:00

@burjandedy thank you :)

@Fidrik yeah, we unfortunately started with level design in a wrong way thus we've been able to finish just 3 of them and even that felt unrealistic at some point. However we are going to redo the whole system and start making levels from scratch so there will be a lot more coming :) Thank you we are happy you enjoyed the game and art :)

Joey's Adventures by mato26 2016-08-31T21:39:00

@MewSoul Cool! That sounds cool to me :) we'll bring either full arrow keys support or option to choose between wsad and arrows (probably option to choose which one you feel like using) in the future :) with much more levels of course :D

Joey's Adventures by mato26 2016-09-01T01:33:00

@TerraCottaFrog Thank you :) this is not the first time we got this point so we will add option to choose your controls :) Thank you for your feedback! And also, we are happy you enjoyed the sounds :)

Joey's Adventures by mato26 2016-09-01T01:54:00

@ErikU little hint :) do you remember how you opened the second doors in the game? :)

Joey's Adventures by mato26 2016-09-05T00:07:00

@g12345 Hah, yea, he is god damn slippery, or well, he was :) we are working on post ld release and in those builds we have he is already normal when it comes to slipping :) Thanks for your time! :)

Rescuing Atlantis by Austinat 2016-08-31T11:21:00

Nice! Good job for 72 hours, I like the mechanic when you can jump only from some blocks. Would be cool to have some checkpoints :)

PrimalVoxels by MewSoul 2016-08-31T19:35:00

awesome game! i played the game with sister and we played it like for half an hour. I wish you could collect weapons and power ups.
Maybe tweak the animations so he will not "float" around the floor.

Pharablock by mvasko2 2016-08-31T12:21:00

Dobrý nápad a super zapojenie témy :D

Escape From Foxtrott by thenanox 2016-09-04T14:09:00

I like the simple art of this game and idea in this puzzles is nice, but there are some issues and bugs here and there but that's alright for 72 hours :D For example I found out that when you die, your character is invisible but you can still walk around, and trigger for example death sounds :D But that just so you know if you want to continue work on the game :)

Nice entry I enjoyed it :)

Flight of Daedalus by Aaranos 2016-08-31T19:46:00

I like use of the theme, however as it has been said already, at the start i didn't really knew what to do and I was confused if those guys standing are enemies or not :D but at the end figured it out and finished the game. But as I said, use of theme was brilliant! :)

Cave (man) Story by Culturebosh_games 2016-08-31T20:11:00

This is amazing :D I totally love the animations and sounds the characters make in the game :D puzzles are cool and getting slowly harder every level, character movement is well done so great experiance :) Good job you guys!

Agent 3310 by TomBuston 2016-08-31T20:24:00

I'm typing this as an owner of 3310 (still alive and still probably with battery). I am going to find that old phone and start using it. It's awesome! I miss that beep sound so much. That i'm probably going to play that game more often.

Reinventing the Wheel by gonutz 2016-08-31T18:38:00

Nice one :D simple, cool music, funny animations of the player :D Good job

Ubuq by cubotrox_toni 2016-08-31T20:31:00

So basically i killed hundreds of black people with lion masks and i loved it!. The mechanic of Quick time events and that catchy music is amazing :D

Oscilloschaos by Casevse 2016-09-05T00:20:00

Amazing, for me probably the most interesting game yet :D I have no idea how you come up with this but it's great. It's working pretty well, it looks nice, it's a pity there is no sound but that's accaptable. Also I love those knobs on sides and all the notes (you gotta buy dem pizzas).

Great job! :)

LightBringer by Rakart 2016-08-31T12:14:00

Awesome, nice art style it's a pity there are no sounds but I enjoyed it anyway :)
Good job! :D

LightBringer by Rakart 2016-08-31T12:15:00

Also, I like the menu style you used :)

Temple Balls by SiberianCyborgs666 2016-08-31T19:00:00

Graphics is just amazing for such a short time. I believe you are planning for mobile aren't you? This would be brilliant mobile game. Also as someone wrote here there is not Quit button at the menu or am I just blind? :D

Anyways great job! I would play that on mobile aswell :) and the last thing was this created by team or just one person? I am sorry if that's written somewhere and I missed that :D

Five Days by DUDSS 2016-08-31T19:52:00

Oh, my, god!...I love this! :D i spent one hour playing game without the GUI. incredible. This is some really addictive stuff, sir!

Dynasty by DaanVanYperen 2016-09-04T14:02:00

I really enjoyed the game, very interesting idea and it's working pretty well. As it has already been said, some of the events occur maybe a little too often but that's alright. Nice entry :)

Perambulator by sorlok 2016-09-04T23:58:00

Great level design :D great idea behind puzzles.
I definitely enjoyed :)

Azymuth by Geckoo1337 2016-08-31T11:50:00

Cool! I like it :D It has nice competitive tint in it :)
Good job for 72 hours :)

ARMED N' READY!! by djdudes100 2016-08-31T19:44:00

cool sound effects :D i liked the "Archers! ready!"
game is kinda glitchy but if you tweak few bugs. it will be addictive! Maybe add currency system, and more backgrounds

Time Grabber by MrMordem 2016-09-04T21:40:00

Unfortunatelly I couldn't get past the bluescreen (the one after Caffeinated Psychics). When I pressed enter it just stopped working. Not sure if it helps but I am using Windows 7 :D I hope you'll be able to repair that, cause screenshots looks cool :) Good luck

Super Egyptian UFO Cat Pyramid Overlord 2000 BC by rjhelms 2016-08-31T11:38:00

I really like it, graphics, music and the whole atmosphere fits nicely together :) Good job!

Dont Get Eaten by Dinosaurs by Garrett Hoofman 2016-08-31T16:58:00

Nice one :D just hitting dem chickens :D

Ancient Invaders by Insality 2016-08-31T20:41:00

Ignac is like "more OP brother of that "second one :D""
love the mechanic and graphic!. i find that glitch when one of them is shooting by himself (like without touching H key). Nice game!. i loved it!

Gemu Namae by Elit3dGaming 2016-08-31T11:31:00

Nice, maybe if you want to continue after the jam, you could add some range attack with some cooldown :)

Run Grab Escape by MrTroy 2016-09-04T23:52:00

I really like the music and the character is cute :D even thoughh it might seem like an easy game from the screenshots it is not :D its really dificult to navigate around with that big sidespeed :D but its funny and challenging (and I like the idea of putting some old school things in there to collect) Good game I had enjoyed it :)

Plant + Birds by TerraCottaFrog 2016-08-31T16:43:00

Great :D I had a lot of fun playing that, at first it was a bit confusing for me but my mistake I haven't read the description :D I really liked how what atmosphere the art and music together made. Great work! :)

Aliens' Curse by Piotrek 2016-08-31T15:56:00

Hey, I enjoyed it, the graphic part was nice and simple but nice! I like the way it looked all together. If you want to continue the development there are some things to look at. For example the pixel in the animation as @Anudin said or some collider issues but those are some minor that can be solved. Also, when I tried to get into fullscreen mode through out the game the camera somehow glitched but that's something impossible to find until you built it so that's alright :) just wanted you to know if you are going to continue the development :)

All in all, nice game! :)

Mammoth for Speed by Lonely Vertex 2016-08-31T17:06:00

God this is amazing for 72 hours :D all the customization and unlocks and statistics of best time on the web site! You did really good job the whole team! Congratulations :D
P.S. Mammoth riding is just hilarious :D

WakeUpCall() by quill18 2016-08-31T17:14:00

Great expression of the theme :D And amazing work for combo entry :D I have no idea how you made it that fast

poramid by unphook 2016-09-05T00:04:00

Hey, this is really cool, I can totally imagine playing longer game of this one :) the music art were also perfetc. But one of my favourite thing about this were the dialogues :D Good job.

Just "". Thanks for this .

Drone Supervisor by Jimbly 2017-08-08T18:06:23Z

Great one :) It's impressive amount of work done in such a short time. I mean including tutorial, high scores etc.

The Journalist by mato26 2017-08-01T17:32:56Z

@geraldfingburke Thank you! I am really glad you like it :) Yes, I realized that the game progression is really slow... It takes a lot of time until it gets to harder, longer words with higher falling speed etc. And you are right it feels too easy. But keep in mind that the most of us in here is used to write a lot and fast (especially during ludum dare :D ) so the game for us is much easierthan for people who don't write on pc x hours a day. But to be honest, it might take too long anyway. But anyway, glad you like it :)

The Journalist by mato26 2017-08-10T19:12:12Z

@alobker OMG THANK YOU.... YOU BROUGHT THE HOPE BACK xD

The Journalist by mato26 2017-08-10T19:16:33Z

@urbanhelsing Yes, adaptive difficulty would be very good idea, did not came to my mind so thank you for suggestion! However I still feel that would not be enough tho. There would probably need to be another gameplay element that player needs to keep in mind/react to in order to make it challenging. However, as I mentioned in comments higher, to non-coding friends this already challenging was :D

This (making things just hard enough and not too much) is so far very hard part of development for me. Hopefully getting better :D

Thanks for playing :)

The Journalist by mato26 2017-08-11T08:57:03Z

@simplepotential The words are actually getting harder and falling faster every day, but it is adding up very slowly :/

@peachtreeoath Particle effects would be cool, shame on me for not thinking about that :D maybe post LD version :)

The Journalist by mato26 2017-08-14T17:20:09Z

@pedro-miranda Thank you :) Glad you liked it.

Spacy adventure by egordorichev 2017-08-10T18:35:09Z

The graphic style, particles etc. Just awesome! Loved it.

Drifter by feips 2017-08-08T19:07:21Z

The trail looks great, I like the movement of the ship. I found somehow strange to "undock" with R but after I found the key it was fine :D I somehow got into negative with coal and diamond in my inventory, which surprised me tho :D but good job overall :)

Thunderstorm by alobker 2017-08-10T19:30:58Z

Good idea with the lightning :) Enjoyed myself. In the beginning the movement of the camera with mouse position was a little bit confusing but when I got into it and realized the cloud does not have to be exactly over the battery it was fine :)

(BTW, I am glad you saw the "conjoined triangles of success" :D , I started to think nobody would realize...)

How I Met Your Great Great Grandmother by PeachTreeOath 2017-08-10T18:14:24Z

Awesome idea :)

No Sorcerer's Sky by TheFlyingKeyboard 2017-08-08T18:57:00Z

Yes, as mentioned a lot of times, hard to know what to do but idea nice and definitely took a lot of effort :) also even though some object's detail is open, it is possible to click on something in the background. Not sure if intended or bug. Nothing crucial just a note :D And I understand that the tutorial would take very big amount of time from the jam to implement so we can not really blame you :D

Neon Knights: Mech Fighter by Srolfe657 2017-08-01T16:38:05Z

Unfortunately I wasn't able to play in two players, however I tried it out anyway. Seems cool, maybe I'll come back to try it out with someone later. I was able to find a bug, after finishing one best of three I was not able to start another one. The timer wouldn't come up and I couldn't move. You might know about that but just in case :D

Coffee Hero: Powered by Coffee by Guilb 2017-08-08T18:48:55Z

Great game  I only played the jam version so those things might already been tweaked but I found a bit frustrating the delay between space button and when the letter to press showed  but awesome game!

Lithium by bveeramani 2017-08-01T17:01:57Z

Awesome :D I really like this isometric mobile-ish style. It's really a pity that the fullscreen is disabled, I wouldn't really mind having most of the screen empty. In games with this graphic style it's pretty normal I believe. But really good job overall. I've been able to find couple of bugs but that is pretty much expected in Ludum Dare. -In first location, the third level - it was possible to get through the doors without the key. -In fourth location, the first level - I was somehow able to walk off the platform after taking the portal but after restart wasn't able to recreate it. -In fourth location not sure which level - the portals I suppose are supposed to work green <-> green and blue <->blue but all the portals were taking me only to one single.

AC vs DC - War of Currents by Orbat Games 2017-08-10T18:00:56Z

Unfortunately no way to test the MP for myself but tried anyways. Simple idea but it works well :) what I found strange while playing was maybe way too big hitboxes of the player, don't you think? Other than that enjoyed :)
