Awesome!
funny and simple to play
Real fun g. (g stands for game)
Awesome art, loved the caveman and the chickens. The gameplay is simple and fun. Congrats!
So dinosaur...you eat me? I think not! Me eat you!
Okay, so I had a lot of fun playing this game. It was simple but enjoyable. I would have liked to see more upgrade options, and more exploration, but the core of the game was a lot of fun. clubbing the predators down when they attacked me was hilarious. A great entry, one of my favorites so far!
Awesome concept, very simple but super funny (y)
Nice one :D just hitting dem chickens :D
Unfortunately I cannot play your 64 bit executable on my 32 bit system.
The graphics look good, though.
Thank you all for the awesome feedback!
@gonutz I just added an x86 executable to the zip if you re-download it, no code changes just a build with x86. Sorry about that.
@Garrett Hoofman
This is strange, both of your .exes give me the same error message, the one saying they are not valid Win32 applications.
Did something go wrong with your packaging?
Very fun. Also, the graphics style is somewhat unique. It's like 2.5D... but at the same time, it is very limited in the 3D part.
What I did not like is how you get thrown right into the game and you have to read the whole manual before. Reminds me of how games used to be, but in a bad way ;) Yet a tutorial or whatever would not have made the game more fun. It is cool and challenging as it is now. Good job.
very cool, good look to it and the music is perfect. Very difficult though.
@DespiteSoft I had considered a tutorial, but felt that while it could have helped, didn't really need it. I tried to keep the controls and the concept as simple as possible to where you could quickly guess and check. So, if you wanted more meta-game you could then go and look up the ReadMe, even tried to order the contents of the ReadMe that way too.
@gonutz I'm not sure what's wrong, it's definitely a 32 bit executable, even used Dependency Walker and double checked that everything it references are 32 bit.
@tartlegames Thanks! I tried to make it a challenge to win in this game jam vs previous ones I've done, success!
Nice survival game :). I like that energy is used only for actions, so you should think when you can fight with dinosaurs, and when it would be better to run away and eat some chicken first. And I like small progression in the beginning. Also I was able to run and die off the screen on the right :). And I noticed that game force player to walk instead of running, but walking is rather slow.
Cool game, I couldn't kill a T-Rex, no matter how hard I tried. (not a bug... I'm just terrible at this) :(
Really good but very hard. Love the details. Great job.
Good idea, well done in my opinion I don't particularly like the idea of 2D and 3D mix for this type of game, but I like the 2D art and animation very well done. I also dont think this fits in with the Ancient Technology theme, but good idea well done.
This game was super charming, I liked the graphics style, and the general notion reminded me of Joe & Mac.
As popular as it is in media to put dinosaurs and people together in the same place/time, it's always bothered me (what with ~60 million years between them). That being said you total prepared for that (maybe intentionally?) by having chickens in you game. If I were to say, "Why are there dinosaurs and people in the game?" You could just reply, "Because people love chickens." ^_^
The recharge time made dinosaurs difficult to attack, and since they could kill you so fast it often felt pretty unfair. It would have been nice to have increasing challenges before the dinosaurs, and maybe some checkpoint to give the player a sense of progress. Attacking trees and chickens was a lot of fun. You did good work on this!
