The Legacy of the Pharao by BossHunters 2016-08-30T15:19:00

I really like the concept: While being quite simple, enough content is generated. It's a shame, that the physics are a little bit buggy (cannot move like before if hit by a ray). The game itself is an all time classic in various games with puzzle content (e.g. various Zelda games, Resident Evil (5), etc. ). Brings up all memories from playing those :-). I like!

@BinaryProvider you can recollect the mirrors with space. Once pressed rotates them, twice pressed and they are all yours again :)

TOS Legends by Strike 2016-09-10T13:53:00

Clearly, a lot of heart went into this. The menu is neat, the graphics are an interesting blend of old and new. I do not know much about the Atari ST, but I assume that many of its games are referenced here.Clearly, a lot of heart went into this. However - the game is very easy and rather short. This would be okay if the first level was somewhat of a tutorial, but it is the last level, too. I can notice the time constrictions. Maybe you could have passed of this game as a demo version in universe? I do not know if that was a thing for the Atari ST.
I would love to play the "full version" with many more levels. This is carefully crafted, and it's a shame you did not have the time for more content / fine-tuning.

Balloon by Kableado 2016-09-12T20:20:00

Cool art. However, I did not get the point of the long platform-only stretch in the beginning. Whenever I lost, I had to start over and do the boring part.
Very late in the game, the platforms get a strategic value. You really needed to plan ahead! I liked the mechanic.
Too bad the game is dilluted with the dull stretch in the beginning. Otherwise it would have been more enjoyable.

Glutenburg by Ebriosus 2016-09-10T14:19:00

Cool idea, neat presentation. Music and graphics are great. So are the little machines, and the fact that you have to walk back up in case you forget the order.
As others have noted, the ink mechanic is not so fun. I did not get the game at first, because I thought there must have been more to it. But it was that simple. Of the top of my head I would propose any of the following:
If you had to put on specific bags/bottles for each color, and then you can only pick up that color, while the other colors spawn much more often, it would at least require some thinking.
Or if you still have the entry hall as in the current version, but also a far away room in the back for each color. You would have to either be okay with the front spawns, or plan a little adventure: eat food first, and then embark on the journey to the cellar of green color.
As your post-mortem says, you have many cool ideas to expand your game. I guess it is somewhat usual that people really love their first finished LD project and try to expand on it. I did so myself (note that this is a shared Jam account, so you can't find my real first [solo & compo] entry), and it definitely became my finest work as of now. Yet I stopped because there is not really a platform that will give you as much feedback as this LD. I do not know if this is supposed to be a warning, but I thought I would just let you know.
Anyway, I am going off-track. To sum it up: Nice presentation, but the gameplay itself needs to be tweaked.

Temple Balls by SiberianCyborgs666 2016-08-30T19:20:00

Great game. Incredibly polished. I could see this do well on Google Play!
However, what is the thing with "You are the most coolest ball"? Was there a bug where Indy got stuck and you decided to compensate it with a message? It kind of feels like it. I can see this be infuriating when you almost made it through the whole level, and then you have to take the cheap way out.
Otherwise: Truly a complete experience.

Temple Balls by SiberianCyborgs666 2016-08-30T19:47:00

A simple game made interesting by upgrades. All time classic concept. Very smooth for such a short time. More types of upgrades would be interesting.
e.g steadfastness, health, jump width, etc. The stone image could swap after a set number of updates made ;)

Rampage of Technology by kokiriandco 2016-08-30T17:19:00

Astonishing intro! Cool graphics and cool view on the game (through a TV).

Sometimes this view made it hard to decipher the helping shields, though. Also the game mechanics need a little more refinement. Especially swinging was my enemy. It would also be nice if the character-swapping would be of more use because I really like that idea (and the way it is implemented: tape swinging, old mobile phone being heavy and cd- or whatever-player emitting rays)

All in all a already a nice game at the moment. But: Thou shalt not stop improving!

Why Am I In The Past? Who Cares! Shoot The Romans by Whitepot Studios 2016-09-02T12:29:00

Really sweet game. You have to develop a few strategies to survive, and it goes a long way (made it to wave 6).
However, the death animations are really long. I would have preferred if they just fall over without any animation, because this way I could not tell if they still lived sometimes :D
As said before, the Jump action was quite pointless.
Otherwise, I had a blast.

Tower of Egypt by DespiteSoft 2016-08-30T20:55:00

Dev here:
You are supposed to lose health when you kill the slave driver while the guy on the left of the crane is looking. This means that you can either
1) watch out for the looking observer , who spends more and more time paying attention as you progress, before you smash

or

2) try not to smash the slave driver. This takes patience, and it is not impossible that a problem in the game's code prevents the guy from making enough space once in a while. When you move down the stone gently in small bursts, you are not going to smash him any way.

We understand what was supposed to be a minor challenge in the game is very hard. In a revised version, this would be worked out, possibly he would just wait on the ladder.

Same with the rising difficulty: It is there, but in very small increments with every stage. Some hard new challenges would probably be more fun and intuitive - like a second slave driver showing up, or him getting a whip which hits multiple slaves at once.

Thanks for the feedback so far, guys!

Desert Strife by HuvaaKoodia 2016-08-31T14:27:00

Really cool! Seeing today as the ancient age of tomorrow is a use of the theme.
I enjoyed the game much more than I usually enjoy turn-based strategy games.
The dynamic choice between getting resources and attacking was tough. Plus, I loved the "mystery box"-style of the rewards. Made this rather stagnant genre fresh.
However, I sometimes forgot which ruins were already looted. A graphical queue/ even just removing them would have been nice.
Sound and music worked fine in my Firefox. Again, really cool use of the theme and genre.

Taxi No Roman by Nichii 2016-08-31T12:04:00

I would love to see a whole GTA1/2-style game set in Ancient Rome! Really took me back to driving the taxi in that one. Or just playing one of the bonus missions in GTA 2.
So, I loved it. What i would change however is the way the drop-offs work. I wish there was a visual component, e.g. passengers move to the edge of the cart when you are slow, but hold tight when you move fast. Only when they are on the edge they hop off. Currently it is kind of hard to understand at which speed they jump off.
Ooops, I just read that you press "down" to drop them off. So there was an automatic drop-off and a manual one?

Ancient resurrection by LittleBlueFrog 2016-09-14T13:10:00

I enjoyed the gameplay. Not sure about the Dutch flag background, but there is definitely a game here. It is like Swords & Soldiers Lite, yet you could have a strategy. Paladins are good for defence, as they beat everything. But they are bad for offence, as only one guy would come through.
I did not understand what priests do. I assumed they have an aura or something, but I could not confirm this.
All in all: It's functional and the genre is always fun.

Dont Get Eaten by Dinosaurs by Garrett Hoofman 2016-08-31T21:27:00

Very fun. Also, the graphics style is somewhat unique. It's like 2.5D... but at the same time, it is very limited in the 3D part.
What I did not like is how you get thrown right into the game and you have to read the whole manual before. Reminds me of how games used to be, but in a bad way ;) Yet a tutorial or whatever would not have made the game more fun. It is cool and challenging as it is now. Good job.

Grab & Defend by fragileannihilator 2016-08-31T12:44:00

I was too confused by the multi-purpose of the wood. Especially because the hand of the arm just stopped moving when I almost had the fireworks directed straight down the wall... I thought I was just failing to control. Fireworks debuting in a later wave would be cool.
But the idea is very nice. I almost always wanted to control three joints at once, but I could not. I guess that would simplify the controls too much.

Obsolescence by kmitz 2016-08-30T12:36:00

Awesome game, music and graphics form a great atmosphere! Reminds me of Seiklus, although I played that game a long time ago.
Spoilers:
A cogwheel that clicks right into dinosaur bones? Genius.
However, I did not get all the progressions. I was the cogwheel and came to a fire place (after you build the wood bridge). It looked like I could get the next update there, but I guess I was there too early or too late? I could not progress and did not find anything else.
Were there hints in the cave drawings? I could not decipher them.

Pyramid Breaker by DifferentName 2016-08-30T19:40:00

Very cool game! I also failed to see the possibility to upgrade at first, but the game made fun nevertheless.
After I started upgrading I soon discovered the following equation:

Simple Brick-Breaker Game + Overpower-Upgrades = Perfect Chaos Fun Game!

It was so satisfying to see my army of scarabs grow! After the point where you get money for 'buying' scarabs all hell was let loose!
It's a shame that the time for reaching the 'overpowered state' is far too short.

More sorts of scarabs and level in a future version would be very cool! :)

Hero of Alexandria by Drury 2016-09-02T14:52:00

Awesome game. You took out the most ingenious part of Super Crate Box though, and it shows. The random crates in SCB force the player to improvise and make every round its own thing.
In this game, I just come up with a plan to use the sword, then I do that every time until I get the second weapon. Then I die because of a mistake. I have to go through the boring first part again, always with the sword. Then I have my newly revised shotgun plan. I die. Back to the sword. Etc.
It is very static this way, and while this might make the game easier, I stopped after a dozen attempts because I did not feel like doing the sword part again. The visual problems with the sword add to this (see above).
Yet, I am excited about the remaining weapons! I might come back to play this later.

Very good looking Game! Although it is some kind of pointless at the moment (like mentioned in the description) it makes fun to roam the world nonetheless. This is especially the case when the a few streaks of light part the rather dark atmosphere and you can submerge yourself in the atmosphere. Has lots of potential! Keep on!
