I am also afraid to run this game.
@Fib @omid thanks for the feedback, I uploaded it to itch.io so hopefully you won't get that anymore. Sorry for any inconvenience.
So I did get it downloaded from itch.io and it all seems good. Your game reminded me of an arcade game like the original donkey kong since you can't jump. It is very well made. Bonus points for coding it yourself with SFML! Thanks for the solid entry.
This game looks great. It isnt too complicated and is a cool idea that is very appealing. I enjoyed the uniqueness of this game and how creative it was. Overall it was a very great game. 10/10 would play again.
Extremelly simple premise, but it is fun for a while. No bug that I could found.
I got the concept immediately. This game was rather enjoyable.
fun game! I scored 30 :P
I really like this twist on the classic "endless falling" game, but I admit that I'm struggling to understand how your score system works? It seems to increment rather arbitrarily, and it's a little frustrating that sometimes I'll survive for a while and fall really quite far and score less than a round in which I survived for just a few seconds! Still, I had some fun playing this, and (minus the score) it seems to be playing really smoothly. Great job!

Nice game, but I've probably found a bug. From time to time a platform as wide as entire level is spawned - then you are unable to go deeper.
Simple game, good on you for going the C++ route! I was slightly annoyed because I felt like my movement was so limited, especially the fact that when I was in the air I couldn't move left or right at all. Blocking the arrows was a fun little challenge, although some of them seemed to fly a little over my whips and hurt me :(
Simple and effective. I like how some daggers spawn from the sides to prevent falling from one side and just using one key to block. Fun game.
really cool art, try to make it more obvious whenever ur taking any damage, and also allow us to move in mid air. i felt locked once i jumped off the edge.
speaking of witch, id love to see jumping too :) great game
Very very simple as others have said. Very easy to understand, but not super engaging
Fun little title, and very simple to play. If I would make one suggestion, I would like to get points for descending levels as well as killing things, rewarding survival as much as combat.

Many thanks for the feedback. I will be improving upon this game after the Jam so any feedback is grateful!
cool! easy and peace. it looks that the game is randomly generated so its easy to get stuck XD Nice after all, old school.
I tried running it, but in addition to being flagged as malware, it just opened up a terminal and no window otherwise. Sorry for the lack of useful information as a comment otherwise!
good job, i had fun xD
Pretty neat game. It's simple, but still enjoyable and a pretty original concept. Sorta like the opposite of one of those endless jumping games. It did lack some variety and got kind of repetitive after a while, but it was a fun bite sized game. If you were to expand upon this, maybe adding some different kinds of enemies would be cool. Also, it might be neat if you had to time your whips like in something like Castlevania; that might add some challenge. I dunno, just some suggestions. Good job for missing a day and using a whole new language.
On the first view thinking: wow, a very simple game, but i have play it a lot of time :)
Nice gameplay here, got a lot of fun to play it
So, you should do better graphics and more smooth effects and all will be perfect!
Nice job
Good job writing it in SFML, I know how much work that can be.
I wish there were some way to block the bullets, at some points you just get screwed.
This would do well as a mobile game. Can you please add a jump button and a way to block.
Simple and fun. I like the fact you can't jump as it adds to the challenge. I scored 299 - when I re-read the rules that left-right arrows attack =)
Very simple game, but congratulations on finishing it! And it's your first jam as well so that makes it extra impressive!
I don't have a lot to say about the game itself, it's simple and not very engaging to me. But hey, you finished your game and should be proud of yourself! :)
Nice, simple game :-)
Okay the game is very simple, but it also pretty fun to play. The idea of letting the player fall down through the map, instead of jumping up from platform to platform, worked super well.
Nice, maybe if you want to continue after the jam, you could add some range attack with some cooldown :)
The concept was good, but I think some sounds and music could improve your game a lot. Other than that, the concept is rather enjoyable.
The concept of the game is so cool! I really like it! The game is fun and enjoyable, but some fancier graphics and sound effects will be better. The game is well made, good job!
it is really a bullet hell! I get stucked in a wall floor row
Nice game. I love the concept. :)
Avast found some problems with it so I couldn't run it at first.
Cool game! Congratulations!
I'm afraid to run this game too after i looked at screenshots.
You waste your time with C++. Better start learning Unity and making real games.
good game :D (my score: 456 )
Interesting concept, it has potential in mobile devices. Sometimes is difficult to evade bullets, because the fall is to long, i think the falling should me shorter sometimes. Good work!
should be* shorter xD
Good idea, I like the concept of only going down and having no jump. That's really neat. The controls feels pretty good too.
The game would be great with a bit more variety on the level spacing or other ways to gain point.
Good job and congratulations !
Nice game, at first I thought I can jump but I totally figure it out anyway just by going down.
@nanimono why do you say this? I can program games in Unity (C#), in fact last game jam I did. I wanted to challenge myself by using C++ and I will be using C++ more because I'd like to go into the industry using that language. I'm sorry if you feel my game is bad but I am not as good as the majority of people on here but practice makes perfect as they say.
simple, but done fairly well. I wish there were air control. Don't listen to Nanimono! Stick with C++, it's well worth it! Look at the game he made, there are no objective, goals etc. Just random textures made in a premade engine, yea, nice "real game." It's entirely possible to compete with those who use Unity and so forth using a systems programming language. My suggestion is to write your own game framework before the LD, it helps the process a lot.
After re-reading the rules, I realized I could actually fight back! This made things a bit better. This, combined with the constant downward movement, was plenty of choice for the player and seemed like a logical constraint.
Overall fun game. It's cool that you tried something new.
Nice game! The art resembles old games from nes/arcades. Gameplay is pretty simple to understand, event though I didn't realise you could attack at first. Maybe add some retro music for the full experience? Overall, nice work!
It's a good starting point. The game is fun to play and the movements are smooth. Not being able to jump is a good idea if you can think about other original features. With animated sprites and more varied tiles for the level it could make the difference :)
Keep the good work and persevere in C++ programming ! And like AODQ suggested, prepare your framework for the next LD !
