ALBI: The First Great AI Computer by Valkling-Friend of All Things 2016-08-30T18:24:00
Nice story. The computer screen is to dark compared to the room. The ascii art could have been more accurate but I like this naive way.
Great Job !

Good game. The physics is working well and it's really challenging. Good idea to make the player constructing something by throwing blocks rather than destroying it.
On the first level I accidentally made a 92% on my first try and was expecting the game to load the next level. I think you should at least give a direct feedback when the level is "solved". You could as well highlight the blocks that are in place during the game.
Great job :)
Cool idea. Your game is really addictive with simple and clever mechanics. Enemies graphics are a bit rough due to the upscaling and the lack of animation.
Perhaps you could add right-click for jump for players who want to play in the morning while drinking coffee.
Good game !
Nice graphics style and nice game. I love the running animation (it remind me little big adventure for some reason), it could be perfect with more fluidity. I found it difficult to open the chests, and sometime it trigger twice. Using 'space' key to open chests could be less confusing.
Great job
It was fun to play with this machine. It reminds me some classic demoscene effects. I think I found out the point of each button and I can control the render quite well. Just searching for how it works is fun but adding some hidden things to discover would have been even more rewarding.
Great Job :)
It's a funny little game. I think the key mapping could be much better. What I suggest is picking being automatic (or 'e'), left click to use spear, right click for the stone and space to craft. And retry should not be so close to the other keys ^^'
I got stuck at the water too until I see your comment.
It's really promissing though.
I really like the simple graphics and the story line/tutorial in game.
Want to see more of it :D
Good game !
Crazy concept ! Really fun to play.
I love the design and sounds. The light effect, shaded block by block, reminds me of 16 bit era and is really cool. I would have prefered moving freely rather than block by block because it hurt the eyes a bit and break the action.
Otherwise it's a really promising game with a well transcribed dark athmosphere :)
Cool idea to replace the now traditionnal 'wait for an hour or pay to access the next level' by an art contribution to the game. With a user login system you could add some nice community features :)
Work well on windows but I encounter a problem on android touchpad : the virtual keyboard show up but input does not work.
Very polish game ! There's even a tutorial :)
The music and graphic style are well chosen according to the topic of the game. It's more challenging that it seems at first glance. Great game :D
You should make it possible to use space to quit puzzle mode.
The controle mapping currently force the player to switch between and keyboard for solving puzzles so it's imperative to have a fluid transition in both ways.
Steps are not synchronized with the speed of the hero. He seems to slide rather than walk.
It's a little to dark for playing during the day (even if I push the screen brightness to is max), especially if the player screen contain bright things in the background. You should consider a fullscreen mode.
Nice torche effect, atmosphere and puzzles.
Keep the good work !
Just played the post-jam version and it's a pleasure not playing in slow motion.
thanks for the update :)
Amazing game ! It remind me of Rocket knight on Genesis/Megadrive. I need the rest of the game !
Great job
A really challenging platformer just the way I like it ! The respawn is too quick so I often end up dying multiple times when respawning. The white spikes are barely visible for me. I found their hitbox a bit large and when changing direction near it, it's hard not to get hit.
We need a timer and a time attack mode :D
Good Game !
It's a good starting point. The game is fun to play and the movements are smooth. Not being able to jump is a good idea if you can think about other original features. With animated sprites and more varied tiles for the level it could make the difference :)
Keep the good work and persevere in C++ programming ! And like AODQ suggested, prepare your framework for the next LD !
Nice physics puzzle game. I really like the fact that you used a "real" physic engine. The result of the rotation is at first glance counter intuitive due to friction effect and it's part of the challenge :)
The rotation sound is a bit annoying after a few minutes. Perhaps you could randomly select it in a list and/or make it more discreet.
Great Work.
Hi,
It's a good start for a challenging platform game.
There is some area for improvement :
Graphics : You should avoid this kind of repetitive texture of brick wall. And a simple background image, or a star scrolling effect could fill this black space.
Level design : Your tiles seems to be placed at random places. You should place them on a grid to avoid the little offsets between them.
Gameplay : The gameplay is too slicky or the platforms are too small. I didn't manage to pass the big pit with the small blocks across it.
Keep the good work !
@2011petia Yes, I'm working on my own game engine for a long time. Basically it consist in integrating all the usefull pieces of code I made for different project in one well designed package (managers for GUI, sprite, 3d...). I will probably distribute it under GPL license but there's still a lot of work ^^
@austintradr at least Disney will not complain about copyright ;)
@stefvanschie Did you try the post-jam version ? I added some levels and the best time is recorded for each level so you can try to beat your score. You're right, there is a lot of moves that end up with the level being cleared, but the purpose of the game is to found the best one. I admit that it is not really clear, especialy in the Jam version.
Thank you for your feedback :)
I like the story and the funny descriptions of ancient technologies ^^
Some possible improvement :
Circular saws hitbox is too wide.
The gameplay is a bit slick.
The hero almost doing a split while jumping can be confusing when jumping on a narrow platform.
I really enjoyed playing the game.
Keep the good work !
Nice idea and graphics :)
Did you think about some futur developpements for your concept ?
Well done. Keep the good work.
Cool music and pixel art graphics ! Jumping to skip dialog is a bit strange. On my first run I skipped the first dialog box because I tried to avoid the incomming character thinking it was an enemy (Did I drink too much coffee ? lol)
Your game is really promissing and I want to see more of it.
Keep the good work !
It's a good starting point.
I can't shoot down-right and down-left while walking (the other directions work well).
My suggestions :
Try to avoid using repetitive textures or break them by adding some randomness.
Vary the ennemies behaviours. In your game, when the player run in a direction, all the spiders are following. In Pac-man their was already some variations in A.I. that could inspire you : http://mentalfloss.com/uk/games/31287/the-different-strategies-of-each-of-pac-mans-ghosts
You should not use pop-up windows (Name entry and Game over message), you break the immertion of the player.
Hope that help ^^
Keep the good work :)
