Cool jam entry! I really like the way the floor wraps around, leading to interesting challenges.

I was able to keep myself alive by holding a tile under the rock/wheel/cyberneonthing, so it wouldn't fall. That didn't make the game any easier, though :P

If possible, please include a save point after a level - the first level is cool, too - but only for a few times ;)

Also, great soundtrack and cool pixel art! Well done!

@Vaiaphraim, Thank you so much for playing, glad you enjoyed :)

aroscillo 2016-08-30 00:18

I wasn't able to open this?

tedajax 2016-08-30 00:20

I really like the mechanic. It's clever and forces the player to make smart decisions quickly. Would really like to see a more fleshed out version with more refined jumping and additional obstacles.

thatsbamboo 2016-08-30 00:21

Fun game! I've never seen the dragging ground mechanic done before. I especially liked the feature where you could pickup and then replace the ground in other spaces. I found the difficulty to be quite high which wouldn't be an issue except for a how unforgiving the falling was. There were times where it seemed I had room to jump but the death animation had already started. Overall this is really good for a first game! Congrats!

teekeks 2016-08-30 00:22

The map does not reset on fail D: But a cool idea!
The music is also nice.

rudinskiz 2016-08-30 00:23

The graphics are amazing!

dragonzbw 2016-08-30 00:25

It's amaze-balls! I love everything about this entry!

austintradr 2016-08-30 00:26

@AWOL On Windows the 'RollingTime.exe' is the file you want to open (after you've extracted the contents). On Mac, extract the contents and just open the app itself. Hope this helped! If it didn't I'll come to you with my laptop and we can play.

austintradr 2016-08-30 00:27

@AWOL, you have to download go into the file, extract and then play, hope it starts to work

austintradr 2016-08-30 00:28

Thank you so much @thatsBamboo

austintradr 2016-08-30 00:29

@Teekeks could you tell me a little more about what's going on with the map not reseting? I haven't seen this issue myself. Thanks!

senor-salty 2016-08-30 00:31

Hey!You!Have you ever wanted to be a wheel?Have you also wanted to stop the apocalypse?Well now you can do both!
In all seriousness, this is a very creative and well implemented idea, with satifying music and a very nice difficulty curve. The art is very nice as well. All around,a very good game!

aaranos 2016-08-30 00:56

Really takes a lot of focus to do well. Definitely a great concept. Managed to save myself from a few falls since you can move the ground.

bigoss73 2016-08-30 00:58

This game has one of the most original ideas I've seen in a while. It's pretty challenging and extremely addicting. I would love to see this as a mobile game. By the way the soundtrack is really good!

9-ar7k 2016-08-30 01:01

Interesting mechanic. I like the amount of strategy with such a simple concept.

mrjorts 2016-08-30 01:07

Fun and very well put together. I just wish I could change the height of the jump by holding or tapping the button so I had more control over where I landed.

rubiksjr 2016-08-30 01:14

This was a great idea for a game; I really enjoyed playing this. I liked how the levels wrapped to add replay value, and I though the particles were a nice touch. I didn't like how there wasn't any sort of save or speed selector, because the first level on slow does get old pretty quickly.

This might be a little nit-picky, but I don't honestly think it looks good when sprites are made larger without actually adding detail, like how the meteors are resized to be really large.

All-in-all this is a really fun game.

avon 2016-08-30 01:44

Great game. The mechanic is fun, addictive and innovative. Pretty difficult, but also intuitive. This is really great for your first game.

A couple tiny critisism; have to agree with other commenters that you should restart at the level you died at, not so fun to have to to the first level again and again. The different art styles do clash a bit.

johnbjuice 2016-08-30 02:32

Cool concept, interesting mechanic, great pixel art, and very good music!

Definitely would be better to let players choose their level or start over at the same level - annoying to play that easy first level over and over!

You should probably prevent the player from grabbing blocks on the far left right before they go offscreen - I figured out I could basically cheat by doing that!

Very difficult, but in a good way - the challenge felt fair and interesting. Great job!

malec2b 2016-08-30 02:50

Really clever mechanic. My one suggestion would be to make it so the player has a bit more control over their jump height (by how long they hold down the jump button), as that would allow the player to make more situations for themselves that are tricky to get out of, but not impossible (for example, right now, I don't think there's any way to deal with alternating single blocks and empty spaces, and it would be nice to be able to do a little short hop to go from tiny platform to tiny platform).

wicked7000 2016-08-30 15:40

Very clever mechanic you can even place the ground in a way that there is a gap but you can still roll over it only real suggestion is maybe to give a bit more movement control but I understand if you like it the way it is overall very good game~ Good Job!

msaul 2016-08-31 22:47

May be not enough juicy things to make it more enjoyable or may be the movement are too slow.

Good hard game :), nice concept!

tmpxyz 2016-09-01 08:55

Cool design, hard game, only get to the third level.

Would it be better if player can control horizontal movement?

junber 2016-09-01 13:08

That was unbelievably fun. The idea for this is really great. The difficulty progrssion wasnt too even (The 2. level felt harder than the 3. one and as you got to the 1. one again it was even easier). Also I dont know if it is intended that you can just grab the ground behind you and thus avoid creating gaps. I quite liked the music but the art could be improved. I might be repeating myself but it was REALLY fun.

geckoo1337 2016-09-01 14:37

Fun game and really clever. The mechanics work good as well. A solid entry. Thanks ++

linus123xbb 2016-09-03 22:22

Very fun and satisfying game. It was quite hard, so maybe there should have been checkpoints so you did not have to replay all the levels again. I managed to complete all three levels after a few attempts though. Very nice for your first game. Also it worked very well running through wine on Linux :)

narkhos 2016-09-04 07:06

Cool idea. Your game is really addictive with simple and clever mechanics. Enemies graphics are a bit rough due to the upscaling and the lack of animation.
Perhaps you could add right-click for jump for players who want to play in the morning while drinking coffee.

Good game !

runvs 2016-09-11 06:59

Greeting from a 1hgj fellow :)
Very nice idea! I like the mechanics and the soundtrack! Learning the basic mechanics is quite hard, but after some tries, you get the timing. Playing with a touchpad is quite impossible, but with a hardware mouse it is ok. I think, this could also work nice on mobile devices!

Oh and you get extra points for using lua!
