perhaps having WASD to move and a CTRL key wasn't such a good choice for a web game, since CTRL+W closes your tab ;)
This was cool! Felt a lot like katamari picking up all these creatures
Animation and models look pretty good! Though walking through the side of a building and dying felt quite unfair.
I would like to add that there is indeed a restart button, if you press ESC you get to the pause menu. There you will find a restart button, I didn't realise I never explained that :)
It would've been nice to display the controls in-game, I was stuck for a while before I realised they were listed on the download page
I have to be honest, I had absolutely no idea what was going on. It seemed like it could be a fun game but who knows?
There isn't actually a win condition, it's pretty much about getting a high score :)
Pretty decent entry! Although I felt like you could add a bit more "feel" to the game, perhaps a bit of screenshake when you hit civilians or some sound effect to make it more satisfying ;)
I think I discovered a bug, when I played the tutorial level I didn't die when my character touched the top of the screen. Might have something to do with me not even clearing the first drop :P

Perhaps you have a different keyboard layout than me, but the controls made it really difficult to play!
You would've been fine just using arrow keys instead
You do realise the theme chosen was "you are the monster" and not "can't stop moving" right? ;)
Really original idea! I thought it was hilarious :)
Really good and simple idea!
I really love the gameboy theme! Incredible work! The animations were cool, and the controls were nice and easy.
Though it took me a while to understand that I had to throw the bricks at the construction site to build bonehenge.
The game is pretty difficult, but I think that is mainly due to the controls. Was quite hard to move properly with the wrong camera angles and on top of that you didn't really have any aerial control which made it even more difficult.
But the voice-overs were pretty cool! I also got trolled bro :(
Cool game! Artstyle was nice and a nice and simple idea executed really well.
What an original way to make a typing game! It was nice and simple :)
This game was super funny!Though I did get stuck a few times by throwing some items out of the window...
Pretty simple game with nice 8-bit graphics. The game-over screen was pretty funny too RIP RIP RIIIIIP!
The controls did feel a bit clunky. The movement was very sudden and didn't quite feel right.
The gameplay wasn't really fun, just doing the same thing 100 times without any real challenge.
I did get to the end though but I think I accidentally skipped the ending because I went straight back to the menu.
Cool game and amazing sprites! Really gives me that Vlambeer vibe.
Though I figured out the game became pretty easy when you just stand in the corner and keep shooting.
This game was a lot of fun! Original concept, well executed and a ton of fun to play.
This was very well done, great entry!
This game looked awesome from the screenshots and luckily it was awesome!
Though the screenshake got a little bit too crazy where I felt like the screen almost turned upside down. And the sound effects were a bit too high pitched for my liking, a bit more bass would've been nicer to listen to I think :)
Great entry!
It was pretty difficult to hit all the ships! Some just moved too fast to burn in time. Great idea though and the game and models look pretty nice :)
Haha this game was hilarious! I loved that you can just choose to shoot that poor old man.
Played through it a couple of times to see what I kind of endings I could get. I managed to not shoot the old man and his dog, but the monster was unavoidable.
Great game, I had a lot of fun!
Animations are pretty good, game looks very nice! But the controls are very floaty, just using A/D to move made the character slide all over the place. The only way to make him stop was pressing W or S.
Plus it was incredibly difficult! I could only get a few hits in before I died.
Wow amazing! I can't believe this was made in 72 hours! The artstyle is just like scribblenauts. It was funny walking around, though a bit difficult as well.
And the opening cutscene looked like it comes straight out of a professional product! Amazing, just amazing work.
Really nice and polished graphics! Though the premise of the game makes little sense to me. Who is this man running into statues changing into a diamon? xD
Pretty cool game! It has really nice models and effects. I just thought it took a bit too long to get red crystals. I was only able to get 1 in about 1700 yds and by then I was getting blasted by larger ships.
Anyway, still a great entry!
Really difficult game! Graphics are... simple. I couldn't really get that far because there were some incredibly difficult jumps!
But congratulations on finishing the game anyway!
Nice cutscenes with crisp well-made sprites. I was a bit confused by the controls though due to the isometric perspective. I walked in the wrong direction unintentionally a few times which basically always cost me a life.
As said before the learn by play with the first wind up key was clever in teaching you the mechanics without any pop-up messages whatsoever. Well done!
The game looks really good! Sound effects and music fit the atmosphere perfectly. Gameplay was fun and very well done, not too difficult while still being challenging!
Don't have a lot of negative things to say really. A well executed game!
The game wasn't really appealing to me, there wasn't any real challenge to it.
It was still fun finding stuff and learning when different products were invented.
Quite a relaxing game about farming :) I really liked the artstyle! It was really well made, though I suppose the game did lack any specific goal.
Wow, amazing graphics and lighting overall! I fiddled around with the computer console a bit, was able to set a destination but didn't really have the patience to find out what else to do.
But that is perhaps more my problem than it is yours. Great entry anyway!
Wow I was really impressed by the title screen, that looked super good!
Anyway, the game itself has good looking graphics as well and I liked the fishing minigame.
There are suspiciously many boots in the water though... who is this person dumping all the boots in the water? D:
The game was pretty difficult. It was a fun mechanic with the stopping of time, but the levels didn't have a lot of interesting obstacles to use it with.
Maybe there are different artifacts and obstacles later on, but I couldn't really get far. Checkpoints would help tremendously and maybe have some other dangers like rockets chasing you or moving enemies which you can freeze and such.
@peterthehe
There should be music in the game though?
But to answer your question:
The planets, stars, planet surfaces, organisms and alien bases are procedural.
This was a pretty fun puzzle game! In the end I think I got the structure built but the game didn't seem to acknowledge it, but perhaps that was intentional :)
Haha this game was amazing. It was really funny to look at all the ways those little puppets were destroyed.
Wait... now I sound like a psychopath.
Anyway amazing entry!
Very simple game, but congratulations on finishing it! And it's your first jam as well so that makes it extra impressive!
I don't have a lot to say about the game itself, it's simple and not very engaging to me. But hey, you finished your game and should be proud of yourself! :)
I didn't really understand the game. At first I walked towards the many houses but there was nothing to be found there. Then I found out I could access the pyramid behind me at the beginning. I spawned the cube inside the pyramid but couldn't really get out? When I touched the door the text popped up and spawned me back into the pyramid chamber.
I really wanted to finish the game, but I couldn't really figure out how to go on. Perhaps there are some bugs you should fix?
Beautiful little game! Sailing was a lot of fun and the controls were intuitive and responsive.
Overall I'd say it's a really polished game which is a lot of fun to play as well. Great work!
I only got 812 points, I'm not really sure what I'm doing :P
The game looked really nice and worked like a charm! Really polished entry!
The game looked pretty decent with a very good level selection screen. Really love the map!
I have to say though I am not a huge fan of difficulty through controls, with the objective to pick up items which make your controls delayed the game became difficult to control. But that wasn't really fun to me and felt unfair if anything.
Other than that the game looked, sounded and played well.
The game looks pretty good! The graphics and audio are nicely polished.
The movement felt a bit stiff though. You probably didn't intend the wall hanging, I've made 2D platformers in Unity and I know the struggles of 2D bounding boxes with friction :P
Nice game! I really loved the animations and graphics. The gameplay was quite repetitive though.
I had a lot of fun playing this game! Probably the most fun I've had playing Ludum Dare 36 games so far. It looks great, it plays great and the audio is nice.
Except for when you die, that sound was horrible and scared the shit out of me :P
I should add that for an endless game where you try to get as far as possible I think it's too easy.
In my second playthrough I got really far really easy and I think you get more powerful quicker than the game gets more difficult, which results in an endless positive feedback loop meaning it could pretty much go on forever.
My suggestion is, make the game progressively more difficult. Increase the prices of hull upgrades everytime you purchase it or something.
That's my two cents anyway :)
Ah, the good old technology of hamsters producing electricity. Not really sure how the egyptian theme fits in. But hey, it worked and the game was pretty funny!
I do wonder though where you got the footage of the hamster. It was green-screened too so that may even be the most impressive part of this game to me.
