Commenting to say that the Windows build will work on Mac/Linux with Mono.

2016-08-29 00:57

Played through the whole thing. A few bugs here and there but overall a fantastic game that has a fair amount of content and is quite fun!

lavwa 2016-08-29 00:59

Amazing work, as always ! Thanks for the stream, it was very inspiring and entertaining :D

multitudes22 2016-08-29 01:14

Fantastically fun to play, and really funny. I especially love the "crash" when you die.

alexv 2016-08-29 02:03

Low key watched the stream, mostly tuned in for the music though.
Surprised you didn't try to simulate a DOS console with the Unity GUI, I would've done that

geekguy100 2016-08-29 02:07

Very interesting! As I was watching you develop it, I imagined it would be hard to pick up and get a feel for, but it was very well instructed thanks to the controls on screen. Very unique and nice job!

kevkevonfire 2016-08-29 04:06

Enjoyable, and I love the old rogue-like feel. Clever writing and lots of content for a jam game as well. However, I wish you hadn't emulated the sluggishness of the old terminals as well. Waiting for the screen to load new portions of the map killed it for me.

potatoing_ 2016-08-29 06:55

Oh god, this is fun. Very simple, but really deep as well. Feels really roug-lige and with it being only in console - awesome! Really fun to play.

mcmutton 2016-08-29 07:03

Didn't catch a lot of the stream while making my own game, but not much to say besides:
Wow... really love the game. So much to explore. The management of energy makes the game even more intessting. :D

gurkan96 2016-08-29 08:31

watch you make this while i was tinkering on my own game but didnt catch much of the gameplay since i was focused on other stuff turns out your game is really fun and very well executed i mean i should know i just wasted an hour in there when i was supposed to pay my taxe;)

wevel 2016-08-29 14:41

Really nice game, using a console works really well. The slow old terminal fell really made it

xgeovanni 2016-08-29 16:02

Here's a little screenshot to show how it looks in my terminal on Linux with Mono: http://i.imgur.com/mHgPfbd.png

The only thing that doesn't work is the beeping.

Raid: Alien invasion in progress.
Dearmed Arbez is completely helpless.
At least he can flick switches.

Nice Game! Remembering the last target when firing would be a huge qol improvement.

sn0uk 2016-08-29 18:50

Really neat game

mine10blox 2016-08-29 19:45

Very nice! Could only tune in to the stream occasionally though, doing my own entry!

linus123xbb 2016-08-29 21:04

Fantastic game, it works very well in Linux aswell. I got stuck at one point but overall it was still a very nice experience.

2016-08-29 23:50

well thought out. Great expression of the theme, my #1 so far GOOD JOB

quicklyer 2016-08-29 23:58

Very impressed by this game quill. I listened in to at least half of the weekend, but I wasn’t following along close enough to know how to play beforehand.

It was simple to figure out, the aesthetic is very nice for a NetHack style game, and the flavor text is great.

Impressive game, 4k lines of code, all done while streaming. Built & ran it on my Xubuntu ‘quarantine computer’ with no problems.

aspepex 2016-08-30 09:08

Build to look like ancient technology, I like it alot :D

mffking 2016-08-30 12:18

Nice ! I couldn't see the stream this time because I was developing my own game.

yngvarr 2016-08-30 12:51

Roguelike about robots? I want to build it for linux to run it without wine!
Awsome work!

edve98 2016-08-30 17:21

My god, I can't believe that you did all this in 48 hours. I wish I was that good haha

tomdeal 2016-08-30 20:59

It's very hard to follow the stream when you try to stream and do your own entry, but the after-submit partystream was great :-)

That said, I like the game you made there. It might be a bit too long for a LD entry, but the tech behind it and the amount of content is really cool!

brackeys 2016-08-30 21:38

Cool game as always Quill! Tuned into the livestream, had a lot of fun, especially at the end ;)

hero7785 2016-08-30 21:54

I enjoyed it as always
Quill you're too good

recursiveanomaly 2016-08-31 01:05

Great game! I really enjoy the choice between using the bucket and web cam early on. The energy system is very punishing.

wr4th88 2016-08-31 02:13

I love it! I wish the old castle game from long ago was this well put together. Also a fan of your tutorials, they've helped me out tremendously.

mato26 2016-08-31 17:14

Great expression of the theme :D And amazing work for combo entry :D I have no idea how you made it that fast

keln 2016-08-31 17:54

Great game! Never played an old rogue-like before, you made me want to play old roguelikes after this

brickkid512 2016-09-01 15:58

It's really addicting. I had a lot of fun playing it!

coborax 2016-09-02 19:17

Awesome game quill, great job!! :D

hermetic 2016-09-03 01:16

Great Rogue-like. Lots of fun. You could have used ☺ for your main character and made it a dwarven warbot.. ;) Loved the references and creative content. Don't people normally spend 7 days on these?

I ran into an update bug or something when I sat on the inventory screen examining items for a while, but esc and back in and everything cleared up.

I have a collection of your games sitting around and play most of them. This is great addition.

mpe3us 2016-09-03 15:04

Great job as always Quill :)

2016-09-06 09:35

nice game quill, as always! the game reminds me of the old castle game on dos, great old times!

very nicely fitting into the theme on multiple levels: roguelike, console based and character graphics

as you've said on youtube, add procedural generation of levels and you can go miles with this game!

novotmike 2016-09-13 15:38

One of the best theme interpretation. I like how oldschool this game feels. It has very nice and cool gameplay. Great job, really fun game.
