Unfortunately I wasn't able to play in two players, however I tried it out anyway. Seems cool, maybe I'll come back to try it out with someone later. I was able to find a bug, after finishing one best of three I was not able to start another one. The timer wouldn't come up and I couldn't move. You might know about that but just in case :D
Some pros & cons of my first play through:
Pros - Really like the games title/thumbnail image thing, its why I am here! - Player graphics & halo thing at start are great - Game play mechanics were good once I checked the controls. - Would be fun if I had a friend to play, playing alone is interesting lol
Cons - On my play through I got kicked to home screen after first game over state (no end game screen?) - After that kick out I couldn't play again - Wish background/platform/GUI graphics matched the quality of player/halo thing - UI scaling issue when not in full screen.
Overall though I think ya'll did a great job, congrats!
Cool intro you have, the graphics reminds of some '80s theme. The soundtrack is nice, and it's interesting to have a local multiplayer. I was confused at first by the Control menu, the windows build doesn't have this issue:

A pretty fun game for 2 players, I'd change the attack mechanics a bit to be more responsive but I liked your approach, plus a mech fighting game is neat by default. :P Good job!
I had to play this by myself, so I cannot judge how well the combat *really* works. First off, sweet logo on the menu screen, supported with some very good music. The game's graphics are a lot simpler than I expected after seeing the menu though. There's room for balance there, and to get a more uniform visual aesthetic. The music in the game is still good quality.
Like I said, I can't really speak of the combat as I cannot play against anyone, but the movement of the mech felt a little slow.
I ran into one bug in the web client where I couldn't get out of the Controls screen.
All in all, pretty good!
(A mech game was one of our own ideas when we were brainstorming, quite different from this game, but it's fun for me on a personal level to end up playing one nonetheless.)
Looks like it would be pretty fun with 2 players but alas I am alone. I didn't count off any points for that though. Controls felt okay and it looks and sounds great. The Controls screen doesn't let you out of it as others have said (I used HTML5 version). Not a bad game, maybe add a basic AI for Player 2?
Graphics and music are pretty good with this one ! Liked the ambiance, eventhough I was alone I enjoyed seeing to mechas fighting each other. It's not really related to the theme, I think. But who cares ? It's cool and NEON.
I think this game has a lot of potential but the execution just wasn't that great. I feel like the attacks would have been way better if you added more effects and screen shakes to emphasize it. I think work on it and polish it. This could be an awesome couch co-op game if you improve it. Otherwise really cool concept.
Edit: also the controls where a bit weird and unresponsive.
The concept looks cool but it is kind of buggy in my web browser. I love the 80’s style graphics and the robot animation.
Thank you everyone for the feedback, we're working to improve this version and we've actually decided to take it further and make a full game out of it as a long term project. Question for @flobar and anyone else who thinks the controls are unresponsive. Could you elaborate please? What exactly about them makes them feel that way?
I really liked the retro feel and it reminded me a lot of one of my old favorites, Joust.
Spectacular graphics overall, but some of the game elements like the platforms aren't tied into the neon theme quite so much.
Effective gameplay, pity there's no AI option (I didn't mark you down for that, I'm not a monster!)
Improvement: avoid allowing players to disappear off the edge. This might be the scaling issue you mentioned.
Nice game! It is entertaining, but it would be interesting to have at least a single player mode. Also, the bots can leave the screen and they shouldn't.
nice concept. Could have been push a little further.
