LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Re:Call by Porcus_Pie 2018-12-02T14:43:47Z

Awesome game, there's nothing bad about it. Played it for at least 15 minutes.

The M.O.N.K. by arkiruthis 2018-12-03T16:37:20Z

Awesome game, the graphics and animations are done really well, and the gameplay i quite good once you get it. There are little flawed, good job!

Monastico: LD43 entry by gafblizzard 2018-12-06T09:19:30Z

Pretty interesting game, but VERY fast paced, and theres little included strategy. The overall concept is good, but a bigger map and longer game would make the game more interesting.

Ps. Phone support is really appreciated.

Winter Summer Land by tomdeal 2018-12-04T15:19:16Z

Awesome job. Although the level design is a bit difficult at times, the game feels great!

Diaball by Antti Haavikko 2018-12-03T17:06:44Z

Its really hard, yet very engaging, you did such an great job on the art, there's little i can say but amazing job!

Mystic Shepherd by kromeboy 2018-12-03T15:49:55Z

The.... walking... is... so... slow... Overall an awesome, well-executed concept, next to improving the walk speed, I dislike your audio, although funny, its not so much of a pleasant sound. You could've used an sound of a knife scraping another metal surface with some hefty reverb, creating a kind of mystic sound. I'm not much of a sound engineer but I think that'd work.

Overall good job!

Save Or Sacrifice? by Riemann Integrable 2018-12-03T15:24:59Z

This game is very rough around the edges:

- You can conserve and even raise the amount of all animalks without going banktrupt - The UI elements are partially off-screen. - There seems to be no end.

I wish you luck in further game development, and next time try balancing you game a little more.

Card Grangers by verysoftwares 2018-12-02T14:03:31Z

Certainly interesting. You mastered the artstyle and really got a 00' / 90' feel to your game. I also havent been able to find any bug. Only thing I do dislike is that you can only use the arrow keys for a cursor instead just a selection method, anyway, good job.

Inflame by Talia 2018-12-03T16:41:34Z

Good job on the art, but I think the art could be a little less if there was more gameplay. Well at least I still was allowed to keep the laptop so Im fine.

Offerlings by eldogg 2018-12-04T16:29:41Z

Oh hello!

The voice acting on this game is awesome, though I found one bugg, if oyu hold a blobby during the tutorial the drop button will stay on the screen, whilst the blobby is already dropped, the only way to get rid of it is sacrficing it :P

Amphora delivery by Tomáš Selmeci 2018-12-03T16:00:44Z

The animations and art look really good. And the sounds are implemented nicely.

About the gameplay, its quite good, but the enemies arent very interesting, making it repetetive quick.

Furtherwise, Good job!

43 and Me by Atium Addict 2018-12-03T16:22:24Z

This game is extremly well-polished, and it could very well be a mobile strategy game, so good job on that. I got the controls after jsut minutes of fiddling around.

Non-increasing 451208114412965 by vilix64 2018-12-02T14:25:48Z

This is probably the most best game I've yet played this ludum dare. Although I didnt immediatly get you had to click on the text, once I did, I really liked the story.

Voxel Leper by BumDag 2018-12-02T14:10:57Z

I will say, you did a good job on the visuals, and for a first jam it's pretty good, I'd say its better then what I did, but there are certainly some parts you could've improved the moment you die there's no restart for example, for this you could've used

int scene = SceneManager.GetActiveScene().buildIndex; SceneManager.LoadScene(scene, LoadSceneMode.Single);

With using UnityEngine.Scenemanagement;

I hope this is usefull feedback, good job.

Voxel Leper by BumDag 2018-12-03T14:44:28Z

@bumdag Good job on updating the game. The last level showed the mechanic of the sacrificing a little better, and the resetting also made it feel a lot more polished. Awesome job!

Voxel Leper by BumDag 2018-12-03T14:46:54Z

Also @bumdag You can add collider detection with raycating, Im not too good at this, but you could look up some tutorials on that. In fake code it'd look something like this

// Raycast a line in the 4 directions // If you hit a hitboxes to the south, you cant move south // Etc

One Life Ain't Enough by oda 2018-12-03T15:17:43Z

Highscores.png

hehehe.

I love this game, I dunno why, I played it for at least 20 minutes XD. The mechanic of killing yourself to finish a level, although not so original proves time on time again to be fun, great job.

Ps: Bare minimun of deaths is one, as you need to kill one guy at 2-3.

Volcano Fling by Barrier 2018-12-02T11:34:42Z

Okay this is hilarious XD. i love the sound effect, and although the gameplay gets a bit stale over time, I really enjoyed the 5 minutes I played it.

The robot's adventure by CrispyPin 2018-12-04T16:09:07Z

Solid game, didn't really get the connection to the them though. Also I'd like to have a screen vibration or hue change when I get hit.

War never changes by Trevor Phillips AUT 2018-12-03T15:33:34Z

You did a great job on the music and the art, but the gameplay is a bit stale, almost non-existant.

I think your point was that you had to capture the city whilst still remaining citizens in the city, but theres no win screen and/or objective.

Also the lack of an exit button was kind of a pain in the ass. A simple example (out of the top of my head): ``` void Update { If (Input.Key(Keycode.esc)) { Application.exit } } ```

Be The Bridge by Codesity 2018-12-04T14:52:11Z

It might just be me, but i constantly ended up trapping myself into myself.

Alain's Sacrifice by Daniel_Abeleira 2018-12-03T17:32:02Z

Interesting game, overall worked out great, the only bugg-ish thing I cna find is that the characters have no backward walking animation, which is kinda hilirous to see walking actually.

Save the swarm by Ternarycat 2018-12-03T16:05:39Z

Wow, this is quite good!

The control is smooth and the art is amazing. I never got to the big guy though.

Sacrifice innocent people! by alex.n 2018-12-03T15:52:14Z

The Last Grinder by yush 2018-12-03T16:15:27Z

Okay, this is kinda hilarious, yet is still represents the way humans are going kind of accurately, overall it works, and the gameplay is engaging for a little while.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-02T17:53:37Z

@atium-addict I really appreciate all the feedback you gave me and ill certainly look into resolution.

The game:

You have resources on all sides, the point is to make sure both sides have more then 0 of every sort and to make sure gods opinion of you stays above 0, every time you sacrifice, gods opinion raises by 50.

You can shift recources between sides to make sure dyou have sufficient amounts of resources to sacrifice or to supply to feed amother side.

Consumption is every 15 seconds and will deplete random amounts of all resources.

Collecting happens consistently depending on the sources (I mever finished that part, theres a static amount of sources now)

I hope that makes the game clear, I will add that to the description as well.

Now for my original idea, to make my desisions a little more clear.

The initial idea was to have villages producing resources depending om what recources they could locally produce. The villages would have to trade to make sure theyre all stocked on all goods.

Youd also have to regulary sacrifice goods to god to avoid disasters, this sadly quickly proved to be too farfetched for my skills.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-02T17:56:44Z

@daniel-abeleira That should answer you as well.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-02T18:31:39Z

@mathoslink The sacrificing of recources by pressing numbers 1 to 6 increases God's opinion

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-02T19:47:16Z

Thanks @sargonius. I never thought people would find it hard to understand XD. Its a good lesson, I shouldve included a tutorial.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T05:54:46Z

@tomcat94 thanks a lot for the feefdback, in future games I will definitly put more time in the UI. Its was the first time I made the UI so right now its one messy contraption inside the editor.

I think I might expand on this idea making it a real strategy game during this month.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T05:55:49Z

Ans @mantou Yes, thanks for the feedback, this is a function I think I implemented too quick.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T08:38:33Z

@ikbenkaspersgrootsefan Have you got any feedback? As your comment seens very sarcastic to me.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T14:39:25Z

@nakami What are you Pc specs, loading the game can take a while. Loading the game takes about 10 seconds for me but if you have a lower end computer it might take longer

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T15:14:39Z

@radical-dog Thanks for the feedback, next LD ill be back. Better.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T15:51:27Z

@theboss12 Thanks for the comment, indeed I had some issues with UI, but @atium-addict Helped me out with this :D

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T16:12:19Z

@kaisenthegreatone Ich kann probieren du ein handleitung auf deutsch zu geben.

Du must das essen auf beide zeite <0 haben. Du kann das essen mit q,e,a,d und z,c swischen dem seite transportieren.

Du must Got blei machen. Mit 1 6/m kannst du das essen zu Got geben. Als Got >0 ist, verliert du.

I hope that will help, I only have had 2 years of german, so it's probably really flawed, but you might be able to do it with that.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T16:27:57Z

@blodyavenger I really appreciate the UI and control suggestion. I think im going to practice a little with buttons in the future, as thats obviously a good thing to learn. Also including a difficulty curve would be a good idea. The biggest problem i had whilst trying to include a difficulty curve is that the game becomes prectically impossible at some point. Thats why I left that out.

Thanks a lot for the awesome feeback, i appreciate a lot.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T17:24:11Z

@william-derksen Thanks a lot for that feedback, I spent a lot of effort on making the game balanced. As I explained in a earlier comment it was the idea to have several cities trading, and occasionally offering goods to god to keep him pleased, if not he'd destroy settlements, and eventually kill your civilization off. This trading mechanic also would allow for cities not producing certain goods. Which I thought would be a cool mechanic

But after I spent 2 hours just on the resource counters i realised this wasn't gonna happen and I simplified it to this.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-03T19:52:31Z

@barrier What is your operating system? Also it takes a while to load the game, so once you clicked the visible button text near the start button, wait for a while it should load the scene.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-04T16:04:03Z

@j0ye Its ashame, its didn't work for you, I heard this issue more, and I dunno what causes it, could you tell me wha't your OS? Also I will work on the graphics, I'm using Photoshop CS4, Just need to practic a little more.

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-04T16:17:11Z

Overall it worked once i exported it, but I had some issues with the UI, it might be the resolution that scrues you over, you could try playing it in 1280 x 720 this way the buttons are almost accurate, press the right corner and you should be fine. @j0ye

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-05T06:07:01Z

@bartosz eYou were not at all too rude, when I uploaded this game I expect way more rude comment, Ive had a LOT of usefull feedback, and I have already and certainly will inprove more due too this. Thabks for your feedback

God n' food by Caspercaper17 2018-12-05T13:12:15Z

@boundtotheearth Its really not bad that you rate fairly, so do I. I want to see where I stand compared to other people (and mainly if im not the worst 😆😆). Thanks for playing my game anyways:D

WackDonald's by rickyhan 2018-12-02T10:56:38Z

Hey rickyhan, I does look like your game functions but i dont get how it works, can you explain it?

Oh My Diety! by tadpolily 2018-12-04T14:58:38Z

Although it'sobvious you did not finish, I did enjoy giving aphrodite an Dove, resulting in her hating me.

King's Guard by pssilva 2018-12-03T14:58:41Z

Okay so, for a first ludum dare game this is quite good. (Im comparing it to myself :P). And overall its working, but late game it gets impossible to manage all troops. There not too much to say about it since it all works fine, but I think it would've been good to make the difficulty a little easier.

Cultist Clicker by TheseusInABottle 2018-12-02T13:50:46Z

A game.png I'm done, this is getting too crazy, ill leave the tab open and see how far I come.

Overall for a clicker game this is pretty good, one thing I did really miss was the amount of sacrifices per click. At some point it takes SO long to click youre way to the next upgrade. For a first game: pretty legit, put it on my list for games to be rated after the timer runs out.

Welcome to the North Pole! by fre 2018-12-04T14:47:22Z

Wow, amazing game.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Entity Manipulation by JCMonkey 2019-04-29T18:02:58Z

Amazing puzzler, with android support this could easily be something I'd play in the bus. The sound track is a bit repetetive, but the idea I quite nice.

My only real graps is the excessive red glow once you get low on health, that could be a little toned down.

Fancy Flying by superchihuahua 2019-04-29T12:33:16Z

Solid game, the gameplay is just a bit boring.

Projekt Rekt by AntzTAKEOVER 2019-04-29T17:55:56Z

This game is really slow paced for an action shooter, and the mechanics are hard to understand. For some reason the enemies spawn inside me. The game also is reaaally grindy.

I'd suggest you spend more time on enemy spawning.

Overall though this is a great game for a first entry, keep it going!

At all costs by zimennik 2019-04-29T07:26:30Z

Wow, amazing game! There does seem to be a bug where the furnace keep on delivering warmth forever, not sure how that mechanic is supposed to work, overall, the game was quite well balanced! Its ashame there was no music for in the shelter though.

GREED by mmason 2019-04-29T18:11:03Z

That quote at the end made the game. The jump could've been a little more smooth. But damn, nice entry.

No Pain, No Gain by PixelMonkey 2019-04-29T08:14:20Z

Its not so well balanced, all mechanics work great, but because every enemy drops a live you can spare them up and create a line of lives just just og back and forth on. (PS: the game crashed at 100 enemies per second (I believe the code tried to make it 1 enemy ever 0 seconds instead of 0.01)

Try to live by Remicy 2019-04-29T12:18:52Z

The concept is really cool, but there seems to be no way to survive, and after awhile you have to die.

Monolith by jsec 2019-04-29T15:44:53Z

The things I liked: The art, it was really appealing The story, it made sure the game makes sense The overall Idea

The things I disliked: With the heavy ship, I beat all enemies wiht like 20 energy left, resulting in my depleting all my energy just to go into the negatives, at least send me back to the attack selector at 0. The intro took too long, it wouldve been a lot more impactful if it was twice as fast.

Clunky Bird by ditzel 2019-04-29T13:29:17Z

Really nice art! The camera shake was a bit excessive though.

Self Surgeon by chuckeles 2019-04-29T09:41:16Z

Really solid game! The only thing that could be better are the sounds.

The Joy of Creationism with God Ross by AndideBob 2019-04-29T11:56:13Z

Haha, what a hilarious game. Its well polished, and although there isnt much gameplay, I could really enjoy God Ross' talk.

Life is Currency by Rancoud 2019-04-29T18:20:03Z

It was a interesting experience thats for sure. I suck at puzzles though, so I couldnt complete it.

Great job with the 3d modeling though, a realistic game is really ambitious. I do think you should put a little less smudges on the wall, the amount you used is rather unrealistic.

Ollo's Life by Memel06 2019-04-29T07:39:22Z

Really nice game, I love the music. The puzzles are really difficult though.

Health Risk by Raziyya 2019-04-29T18:25:10Z

Overall, a solid, well polished entry. Though I think you couldve spiced it up a lot with screen shakes and other visual effects.

One More Drop by ZAX 2019-04-29T16:38:22Z

Something about this game didnt feel right. There is this extremely relaxing music, in a happy and nice envirionment. With a guy shooting laser at monsters that come out of caves, violently making them explode. This main character is mentally ill, or theres some weird logic in that guys universe.

All personal feelings aside, the game was pretty solid, the environment just didnt fit the game.

Cursed Fight by Kylene 2019-04-29T06:51:27Z

The idea of the game is solid, but there are quite a bit of exploits/bugs.

So at first I got used to the controls , ran a bit around shooting the cubes, but after I died I adapted a new strategy, I bought homing missiles and piercing, and stood still and clicked. I got to level 51, decided it was enough, and gained -1265 lives by buying all upgrades. You could've fixed the negative lives bug by adding and simple if statement.

Also, I found the enemies a bit too simple compared to the main character. Overall, good job!

Space Robots: Fight for Freedom by Fenderbate 2019-04-29T11:33:19Z

This game is really nice! The music is subtle but really makes the game a lot better, the gameplay is solid, just a tad easy, and the art is great! Overall just a great entry. Maybe a main menu would've been a nice extra touch.

World Trader by timbs 2019-04-29T11:19:53Z

Overall, a great game. I love strategy games so it was fun to see this.

I have a few gripes though; The fact that you cant see the entire map at once makes it really hard to manage all countries. The desision need to be made really quick, so quick you just cant manage them all. It wouldve been nice to have it all go a little slower.

Save and sell them by ROBOWARRIOR1982 2019-04-29T08:43:19Z

A simple game but really well executed, good job.

Battery Life by Attala 2019-04-29T08:52:42Z

Great puzzle game! I did manage to get my battery inside of another battery but furtherwise it works really well.

Tower of Soulon by Jickamangah 2019-04-29T11:43:44Z

It seems like a great game, and the narrative is amazing, but I regularily fell through the map, and the mouse sensitivity was too high.

Those cons make it really hard to give this game a good rating.

A Heart of Gold by Fat cat 2019-04-29T12:04:22Z

Amazign art and animations! The gameplay is a bit simple, and its ashame there isnt a clear goal (or at least I couldnt find one).

It was a bit hard to understand at fist but its a really cool concept once you get it.

Rent is Due by JakobTheQuizGuy 2019-04-29T11:25:34Z

Really well polished! The gameplay is a bit simple though, next time you maybe want to try something more ambitious, even if it turns out less polished.

Grow by Caspercaper17 2019-04-29T08:02:14Z

@pwroff I know about the shaking bug. Im not really sure how to deal with it. I maybe could've added a raycast stopping yo ufrom moving forward if theres an obstacle, but I didnt have the time nor the coding skills. Thanks for pointing it out though.

Grow by Caspercaper17 2019-04-29T09:03:08Z

Grow by Caspercaper17 2019-04-29T09:23:58Z

Grow by Caspercaper17 2019-04-29T09:49:33Z

Grow by Caspercaper17 2019-04-29T12:12:13Z

Grow by Caspercaper17 2019-04-29T17:49:00Z

@icylava Thanks for you suggestion, but I dont think it would fit the relaxing eastatic, it wouldnt be a very relaxing experience to be continuously mashing a button to get the darn fish to go faster.

ThoseBloodyGoblins by mikouaji 2019-04-29T07:11:35Z

It seems like a pretty decent game but the controls ruin it. It would have been tons better if you could controls the character with your mouse. E.g. buttons on the upgrade screen & the character following your cursor.

The world border is really weird, It wouldve been better to have an invisible wall there.

The enemies are programmed in really solid though, props for that.

And finally the sounds... I got jumpscared by the attack animation, and the other sounds, really, are just awful. I dont want to be rude, but it wouldve been better without them. Practice a little bit on sounde design is my suggestion.

Reach Together by Nakami 2019-04-29T16:27:05Z

Really nice game, it lacks story though, with a good story/dialogues and some animations this would've been an amazing entry.

Life Cycle by zubspace 2019-04-29T07:47:58Z

The cube is like usain bolt. It makes it kinda hard to control. The font also didnt really fit the game. Furtherwise you did an amazing job. Some simple pixel art wouldve spiced up the game a lot, but hey, not everybody is an artist.

Nebula Rush by Erukolindo 2019-04-30T08:40:15Z

A very well polished entry, my biggest complaint is that yo udidnt hide the mouse cursor during gameplay, and the ship in the main menu.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Hungry Henry by MayhemGaming 2020-04-20T06:45:42Z

Interesting game. It took a bit too long for the man to explode imo. With this kind of simplistci gameplay, I would op for shorter games, because now the first playthrough took so long I didnt feel like playing it again.

There also were some issues with the food spawning. Sometimes it spawns too close to Henry or it spawned in the trash can. Apart from that no issues.

Anyways, this game helped me burn a little more time of my music class thanks!
