Hey, congratulations on finishing your game! I think you have some good things going, and plenty of space to improve.
The zombies with high HP got a bit grindy near the end. Maybe do not increase their HP so much, and work on their speed or damage instead? I liked that the ground shines where the zombies will spawn.
The style of the sprites and the style of the walls was a bit too different. Maybe you should have used simple sprites?
The music made my ears hurt a bit ;-) But maybe you should add some sounds when the zombies die? or when they attack you? I think The video "the art of screenshake" on youtube has a lot of simple hints for a game like yours! I hope to see you again next LD!

The goal was to 'grind' enough in the arcade mode to beat the challenge mode but for sure, increasing their speed is a great idea!
Haha yea that's what I felt towards the end as well. At the beginning I was inspired by hotline miami art style but then it kind of dropped off towards the end.

nice but need improvements
Very nice! The shooting feels good, I love the sound effect and the blood effect, also the sprites are really well-made. I think the levels are a bit cramped with all the enemies, it's hard to move around, I had to dash through the horde and take a bunch of damage instead of trying to dodge them by moving around the map.

I was going to say my favorite part was the character sprites and animation, but I see you did not make those :/ the blood spatter was pretty cool too but the gameplay fell pretty flat. As others have said, the artificial difficulty of raising the zombies HP makes it very grindy. The procedural generation is pretty cool, but seeing as the gameplay is the same on every map, doesn't add much. Also the music was making me lose sanity

This game is really slow paced for an action shooter, and the mechanics are hard to understand. For some reason the enemies spawn inside me. The game also is reaaally grindy.
I'd suggest you spend more time on enemy spawning.
Overall though this is a great game for a first entry, keep it going!
@caspercaper17 thank you so much for playing! If you stay in the same place for too long, the enemies start spawning on top of you - its more like an anti-camp feature. Yeah unfortunately it ended up being a little slower paced than I wanted it to be. Again thank you for playing!

I had a plant. It was call camping. Let's just say it didn't work. Just needs some balancing and spawning should be fixed. Cool game none the less.
@retti01 thank you for playing! Haha yeah I needed more time to balance the game properly. The spawning on top of you if you don't move for some time is a feature I inteded to make it a little more challenging. How would you like the spawning to be changed?
@antztakeover I think that, if you want to flush someone out of camping you could you something else than spawning the on top of the player. Maybe spawn more zombies if player sits still for too long. But this way the camping prevention works well for the Ludem dare.

Nice graphics, too repetitive music even if it is nice to have some hip hop while doing some arcade.
The twist about using the __remaining__ life to have upgrades is a good idea.
The shooting unfortunately is not well done as sometimes the zombie can be in front of you, not mooving and you lick on his head and it does nothing ...
But still, nice concept and development :) see ya!
Very nice game! I really like the procedural y generated maps and how the game has a very nice sense of progression. It also feels very nice to buy new weapons. One thing that could be improves is feedback on hitting and getting hit and the store could be a little bit less complex in terms of overview . Otherwise very nice game! Thanks
good game! the graphics work well together, even if not all of them are yours. The random levels might not always work, but they do most of the time and give the game a different feel each playthrough. the upgrades are good and it feels rewarding to finally have enough points to get them! With a little tweaks it would improve a lot, great job!

Cool concept, i like how every shoot costs you life and you earn life by killing enemies. Also good graphics. Sometimes the hitbox of the enemies is hard to shoot
Cool zombie shooter that has a really nice feel to it. Some small things I have to point out though is that the shop needs a bit more love when it comes to readability. For example equiping a gun after purchas or making the upgrade buttons more visible. Another small thing is the feedback when you hit a zombie. It would be cool to see some blood(less then when you kill) when you hit the so you know you actually hit something.
Otherwise, this is a cool zombie shooter
I enjoyed the game, played it for quite a bit. It's a nice simple shooter, nothing complicated, but a great time killer. Got as far as wave 20, but it gets too hard to play. You're pretty much a one hit kill for the zombies. Still, had fun. Kudos .)

I think you should have. I'm going to be honest, and please don't take any offense: Many people will not read your description, and will rate the game graphics based on the character sprites, which are, in my opinion, very high pro grade quality. The rest of the graphics is very dev-artey and very very simple. To me, this feels significantly misleading since if I didn't read this, I'd give you 2 points more for the graphics based on quality of character sprites. But it's up to you how you deal with this.
