Neat. The mechanic of having to switch between the knife and the syringe ties well to the theme, and adds up to some complex gameplay. Really like this sort of art style as well.

jsec 2019-04-29 09:37

Fun game, pixel art rocks!

danidev 2019-04-29 09:38

Woah this is a really fun game! The graphics, audio and gameplay really checks out, good job!

caspercaper17 2019-04-29 09:41

Really solid game! The only thing that could be better are the sounds.

memel06 2019-04-29 10:04

Woah.

it's really, really polished and clean.

Gameplay was rock solid without bugs or big problems.

I was really into the game and I had lots of fun

nakami 2019-04-29 10:48

I like the surgery view attacking the bad cells. The well polish game nice graphic, but after 4-5 parts replace the it kinda lose is interest.

chuckeles 2019-04-29 10:48

@jjjjason @jsec @danidev @caspercaper17 @memel06 thank you for the feedback guys! :yellow_heart: I'm glad that you like the game!

evolus 2019-04-29 10:50

Cool game :) Feels really polished

paragonraptors 2019-04-29 10:55

Nice concept! Loved the art and the mechanics were pretty neat.

jani-nykanen 2019-04-29 11:05

This is probably the most surprising game concept I have seen this far. A well made game, also!

saladon 2019-04-29 11:11

I had a lot of fun. Very well made game. I think I stumbled into your stream while you were making it. Good job!

chuckeles 2019-04-29 11:16

@evolus @paragonraptors @jani-nykanen @saladon thanks for feedback!

@saladon I did not stream this time, that means that someone was working on a similar game :scream:

pwroff 2019-04-29 12:25

Pretty impressed with the amount of work you did for this game. I really like the game navigation!

gruni 2019-04-29 12:44

Lovely. It was a pretty fun experience and I think I will play it again. Keep up the good work!

theviraldragon 2019-04-29 13:08

The concept is so unique

joemanaco 2019-04-29 15:07

Great job.

barrier 2019-04-29 16:08

Nice concept, good art!

speedframe 2019-04-29 16:21

Really fun, love the artsyle!! it's also well polished! The gameplay gets slightly repetitive but still a well made game!

suchista 2019-04-29 18:55

Amazing take on the theme! I liked it a lot. At the end it got a little too hard for me, especially that sometimes my knife wasn't responding. Enemies spawning on me weren't that great, but I guess it was partly my fault. I feel like the suringe wasn't necessary, maybe some more uses for it would be good. Overall - fun game!

eldemarkki 2019-04-29 19:22

Really nice idea and great execution!

corny 2019-04-29 23:57

Now this idea is very unique! Some levels overwhelmed me with the amount of red cells, but aside from that I enjoyed this one a lot. I'll be honest - when playing it I forgot this was a jam game and played it for half an hour straight trying to beat the torso level...

chuckeles 2019-04-30 11:42

@corny thank you :yellow_heart: I must admit that I did not have any time to balance the levels, some of them I just created and never even tried to finish myself because there wasn't enough time for that. The chest one in particular is way too hard...

@suchista thanks! I agree with the syringe, I had more plans for it but in the end I did not have time. All it can do now is to heal cells and also make red blood cells faster.

Thank you all for the amazing feedback!

nexusviper 2019-04-30 15:33

nice idea and game is also matching the theme as well. Really enjoyed it while playing it. Sounds are simple and matching with the game. pace of the game is slow and that is the only negative i got. you had many different levels which is also amazing.

repine 2019-04-30 20:37

Super charming game, great job!

omercanbalandi 2019-05-01 12:16

5/5 from me! It's very fun and creative! Good job dude!

jamesolivermusic 2019-05-01 19:19

Nice graphics. Very innovative. Maybe include some additional features to maintain interest after the first few levels.

daniel-moreno 2019-05-02 07:38

Good game, pretty solid and clever idea! My only complaint is that the levels could be better balanced, but I understand that this is a compo game and there's very little time to balance things on the game. The text on the HUD could have a black-ish stroke to be more readable.

But, overall, a really good job, and well executed game! :)

awesomealliterationalliance 2019-05-02 20:34

Thats a super fun game! I really like the concept and execution of this one. The playable tutorial is great! The sound effects and graphics fit quite well and progression between the levels (with the money you make) kept me engaged. Nice entry, good job!

chuckeles 2019-05-03 08:19

@nexusviper @repine @omercanbalandi @jamesolivermusic @daniel-moreno @awesomealliterationalliance thank you for the feedback guys!

wassim 2019-05-03 23:47

Great game, Love these bionic games amazing and solid concept teh torso was really hard to beat! Great job on the compo!

duke 2019-05-04 10:24

Nicely done! The core gampley and the idea behind it is really cool and well executed. Art and sound come together very well. Some of the gameplay mechanics did stop me from playing the game through the end though. The gameplay felt pretty slow and after the 5th level it kinda seemed like the game was wasting my time unnecessarily. The walking speed could've been a bit faster and I didn't like how the syringe mechanic worked. Just picking it up at the beginning of the level and then waiting (again, time waster) until some of the blood is regenerated. I would've preferred A more integrated gampley mechanic. It kinda felt like an afterthought. The controls were very responsive and tight, I like that. Though, I'm not the biggest fan of the "wii mote swinging" attacking mechanic. But I see how your level design and core gamplay needs this to make precision cuts.

All in all, well done game!

flamus 2019-05-04 10:42

Well done finishing compo game! Very unique take on the theme, i really enjoyed playing the game for a while. Only thing i was missing is some kind of progression level while i destroy cells. Other that that, great game! Good job!

jorbits 2019-05-04 11:15

Really fun game, although sometimes it felt a bit slow, maybe upgrade would've helped. But I think that would have been hard in that time span (considering it's a compo game), so well done!

chuckeles 2019-05-05 00:53

Thanks for feedback! @wassim @duke @flamus @jorbits

I'm well aware that there is not much progression in the game. I did not make it in time for the compo. It makes the operation levels very repetitive and boring after a while. I plan to improve this in the future.

Wow, being a heart surgeon really is the hardest job!

Really cool game! Nice graphics and animations, I love the pixelly art style.

The sound is good, a little background music could have made the atmosphere a little more tense, I am thinking something scary.

At the end I think I replaced everything but the game does not tell me that I won. The heart was very heart (ha!) to find so I am afraid I might miss something else...

Really nice mechanics, I like the way you move your knife with the mouse. The syringe is not really necessary I feel, but balancing issues here and there could probably be fixed by reducing the blood you start with in some levels. Or take out the syringe altogether, would be fine for me as well.

Sometimes I cannot hit enemies when they are too close too me. The knife should have a larger hit area, all the blade through so to speak. This was a bit frustrating.

Speaking of frustration, I did the heart level last - after the torso - and only after ten tries realized that you could destroy the blood emitting bad cells! That was a relief, I though you had the toughest game, but with that I even finished the heart level.

Great job on this one, I am looking forward to your future LD entries, keep up the good work!
