Great game, nice job. I love the concept that you lose health when you throw a snowball because you are a snowman.

Great game, nice job. I love the concept that you lose health when you throw a snowball because you are a snowman.
Very interesting concept here! The graphics are nice too. And the game feels very complete. There is a lot of content for a compo. Congrats!
The player was a bit heavy to move, but besides that, the game felt complete!
omg I love all the dialogue xD
its also hilarious that you are collecting sun when you are a snowman.
The regen mechanic is super interesting I like that the snow on the ground disappears when you use it, it makes your health and ammo actually feel like a limited resource that you are sacrificing.
Music and Audio is great too. Amazing Game Overall!
Great game! I like how you used the theme. Was a very fun experience! If I could change anything, I'd make the snowman accelerate slightly quicker, sometimes moving felt a bit sluggish. Other than that, nice work!
Nice work with this game. Very funny concept and graphics! Never thought I would see a living, running, jumping snowman shooting snowballs towards weaponized camels, collecting suns and shooting space rockets.
Shooting at enemies didn't feel like a good strategy, it would take like 5 hits to kill an enemy and he only deals 1 damage when he touches you. But overall, the game felt very complete and polished, well done! :)
Lovely game! I can't help but feel sad for the "free snow", but I guess it's for a good cause xD Well done!
Thanks for all the comments :-)
@ofirma85 Yes, sometimes it is better to avoid them. But there are other instances were killing the enemy is much easier than trying to get around, for example when they are blocking a sun or trying to bomb you :-)
@selina @jakobthequizguy I tried to make the snowman feel like a real snowman, where the inertia at the start is also quite large. However for the next platformer, I will make the controls a bit more responsive :-)
@andrea I had originally planned to just use piles of snow, but it seemed more fitting to see the casualties of the camel invasion ;-)
i like this game. it have great graphics , good audio and I love the concept. it's a lot of fun. but sometimes player control did irritate me. great job :)
(sorry for my bad english)
I enjoyed the theme of the game but I struggled with some of the platforming
So much fun!! I loved this mechanic. Brilliant to have the snow and grass tiles. Cute music and dialogue too.
The snowman moving around by rolling is a great touch! The enemies were a tough lot - it's easy to get into a very bad situation. There were also some low-ceiling jumps that felt hard to work with due to the way the platforming engine works. The snow-gathering mechanic was very neat, it's cool that the snowman changes size based on available snow!
Hey, I really liked this! I felt very cohesive, in both its humor, style, and gameplay, so great job on that! I maybe wish the game made me make a few more interesting choices or forced me to attack more, as often I found the best strategy was to tank the hits and run to the next free-snow men. Also checkpoints on the longerish levels could be a nice way to keep a player moving forward even if they hit a harder part (I might not be great at platformers). Great Job!
I loved the use of the theme, and the game was a neat platformer. I liked how you made the snowman cumbersome to control (Even though it made me angry on a few occasions).
The level before the last level is the hardest in the game. I fell off so many times with five suns :D,
Oh yes, and sometimes the temporary platforms (those are fall down) aren't temporary platforms, but final
You got quite a lot into this game in 48 hours. Music is stuck in my head, haha.
Solid.
Awesome job. Although the level design is a bit difficult at times, the game feels great!
Very nice interpretation of the theme! Graphics and sound effects are nice, the music does get a bit repetitive after a while. I didn't get to the end (I never play platform games so I'm really bad at them) but the level design seemed solid
@frank-gevaerts yes that is actually something I will change for the next LD. If the game has levels, add a skip option in the menu. It seems counterintuitive from a designer's point, but in a jam you want people to be able to see the whole game.
Player movement felt not enough responsive for my taste but I liked the concept of losing health when throwing balls. Throwing felt natural and was fun. I love that you have different enemy types in your game :) Keep up the great work!
Nice little game, I like the way you handled the theme and even though I'm not really into platform games I did have fun. :)
The graphic tiles were glitching for me sometimes, there were visible lines between them (I played in the browser) and I died like 10 times while jumping, because the platforms pushed me back (or it seemed that way).
Also I would change the snowman "consumption" so that I would not eat it with full HP (snow).
Overall really great game in 48 hours, good job!
I like graphics and movement a lot, sounds were really good too! I think this is a very cool idea for the theme! Cool level design
@keksa interesting, must be a bug then. The snowman should not trigger when the player is on full health. As for the jumping, that's a problem with the way I've setup the physics in Unity. With more time, I would created some workarounds for intersecting physics colliders, add better ground detection and so on. But in a 48 hour game jam, there must be some rough edges. Next time I'll definetly won't do a platformer again, too much work to get the player movement right :-) But I wanted to do it at least once :-)
Dare not to evaluate your game, because can learn so many things from your game and code
@tomdeal Yes, platformer movement was really hard for me as well in all my platformer tries. :D
