I enjoy the typing mechanic, it was intuitive and added to the game quite a bit. Overall it felt very linear, and while I didn't play more than one life, I didn't identify anything that could have given me a reason to try a second time.
that was really dark. the game was a great experience, i played until the end. one thing i would have liked is if the letters you were typing would have spelled something in the end... the whole thing was really great, nice work!
Dark and awesome atmosphere... totally enjoyed it!
Is there alternative endings ? I don't want to spoil the game for other players but I'm wondering if I made the good choices. At the beginning I collected all the "orbs" but I told to myself at some point that maybe I could continue my journey without all of them, to go further. I'm wondering if it was the point of the game. Good concept and good mood. Good work.
Really artistic, I enjoyed it.
What a very curious game! Certainly the most unique I've played so far. I was a bit disturbed at portions of it, especially the end. The mechanic is interesting, but feels disconnected from the game. I'm not sure why what I'm typing matters to the world. Maybe I would have instead required the typing of words like "LAMP" or "HOTDOG". You did nail the atmosphere though! Very moody and the soundtrack supports it wonderfully. Thanks for making this!
I really love how creative this game is. It keeps you on your toes and you never know what to expect next! Plus it has excellent sound design, and a very unique mechanic that made me a better typer. :)
really drew me in. i just know i enjoyed it
my life only lasted for 41 years... well done, interesting take on the theme. it would have been cool to type actual words fitting to the topic rather than random letters!
Althouth I was anxious with the press the buttons mechanic, after the first four encounters it started to get boring, maybe it should be explored a bit deeply. The key moment for me was on the bridge, it was shocking to me and a good example of the approach of the game!
Awesome take on the whole theme, loved the idea and the graphics. Did not saw any bugs or anything bad really, just some great game which I really enjoyed playing keep up the work :D
@julienlussiez @schitzn @tambosi @bitzawolf @hyperbian-games
Thank you everybody for playing my game. In my original plans I had a more player-decided game play (less linear), and the typing would have spelled out words. There also would of been more endings; but I work alone, and even after pulling 3 all nighters to work 24 hours a day, I ended up submitting the game with only 4 minutes left. Thank you for all the feedback and support, should I update this game more?
Understandable Camocc! These jams are really intense and difficult! I barely finished too. This is a great game for only 3 days of work!
@bitzawolf I just played your game. Now I see why you barley finished, your game feels so polished and every aspect of it is perfectly tuned. Great work. Do you use Unity? Or some other engine?
Aww geeze, thank you for the kind words! I used Unity, yup.
I'm absolutly impressed. The Athmosphere makes me feel like real. Good Work!
I was just a little desappointed by the order in layer on the UI XD but good job ayway, not easy to make a jam :)
@paullyaudet What do you mean by the order layer on the UI? (just want some feedback for future games)
@camocc-studios your age is displaying behind some environmentals elements. Which engine did you used ? Unity ?
This is a really impresive atomspheric game - the audio adds a huge amount i.e. the ticking of the clock and the footsteps. I really like the typing mechanic but I don't feel like there's a rush to type quickly or any consequences for typing incorrectly. Great entry.
Great mood. I love this game. I wonder if there is a true ending.
That was a great experience. This game is very atmospheric and makes me think
@paullyaudet Thanks for the tip, and yes I do use unity. I did not have much time to play test the game so the polish was minimal. For my next jam i'll make sure to bring the canvas forwards.
I liked it a lot. I love art games that try to communicate something. This game does a fantastic job at that. Easily the best part is the atmosphere you created.
@ayama I only had time to make one true ending to the game, which is where you jump. I was going to make it have no definite ending, as you would be able to be killed by your environment at any time (car crash, trip off bridge, shot up, etc).
@wrimo Yes, making a game that can communicate a message is quite something. Thanks for playing and giving feedback!!
Nice concept, the atmosphere is really helping to understand the game's message.
lol, didn't expect that finishing though :) Cool concept although clicking different letters as 'job' was tidious and unnecessary.
Interesting interpretation of the theme, the dim graphics and various noises create a strong sense of atmosphere.
I think the story could have been portrayed better, perhaps if the environments and sounds became darker as the game progressed, or if you could observe more characters also going through life.
@sparewizard That's exactly what I was thinking too, but unfortunately I ran out of time and just had to go with what was already there. Thanks for playing!
@bartosz Yeah, the ending is a bit sudden, and I do agree that I could have thought of a better way to complete the task orbs, but time was not in my favor this jam. Thanks so mush for the play and the review!
A super interesting game with an really interesting atmosphere. The gameplay is okay, but it is not what makes the game anything special. Both the sounds, music and visual style fits the game idea very well. The story is overall okay, but the way the story is told is what makes it pretty good. So overall a good LD game. Well done.
Feel like the narrative could have driven deeper, I know time is a constraint with writing stories for LD... Really enjoyed what the game was trying to say though, and I love that you tried to do something different and more meaningful! Great Job!
@camocc-studios I see:) Thank you for the information. Anyway this is a good game and I see a great potential in the game.
Very cool game. I don't know if i'd say I had "fun" but I definitely appreciated the art style, it's a gorgeous game, especially for a game jam. Very eerie mood and neat little experience. Well done, keep up the good work. :D
I really liked the way you told us a story about life, even if it is a bit disturbing. I think it's more like an art piece than a game, but that's something special. Well, done! Hope to experience more stories like that.
By now, it's only game that make me play twice. I got really interested to understand the message behind the game. Nice work!
@jeison-pandini I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks so mush for the review.
@ohfiddlediddle @zubspace @ruddiculous I agree 100%, I got distracted with audio and graphics and failed to put much effort into the story of it and the "enjoyablility" of it. Thank you for the feedback, I really do appreciate a review that's not just "cool game", but gives an honest review. Thanks for playing!
The mood and athmosphere are great, i think the idea is cool too, but after a while walking and typing random letters a got bored, if they spelled something i would be more intrigued to understand there meaning and would have kept moving forward.
