Pretty nice game! The movement feels good and the attack satisfying. Visually, it also looks quite nice, especially the main character. The idea of having to save up your strikes is well executed and it seems pretty hard at first, but after the first few tries the game actually becomes quite easy and the gameplay feels a bit samey. Some more enemy types could help with that. Overall though, I really enjoyed this and played up until wave 12, good job!

I like the visuals. The mechanic is interesting, but it gets a bit repetitive as the strategy is the same every round, run in circles till the melee enemies bunch up then kill them in top of a turret. Could use some more enemy types to vary things up.

@gideon @erkberg thank you guys for playing, i had more enemies on the list but had to scope the whole game down to make the deadline. I also felt that the balance of the game is wonkey but the THE TIME :cry:. Man this THEME was really hard to work with took way to long to get an idea.

Thx for playing. @loadsofmana i wish i had more time dude I HAD PLANS :frog: :gun: But insted i made like Pause menues and shit that people properly never use :cry:. I make it a point to make it easy to exit my game :rofl: i dont know why that is important to me. Thank you all for playing :clap:

Feels good, but didn't have any life counter. Playing on Linux. Game locked up after I lost and I had to hard quit it, not sure if I was supposed to return to a menu. Overall a solid entry.

@marcmagus Sorry about that dude The Linux and Mac versions are untested. I wasn't originally going to release for them but i thought what the heck. I will Re-upload them and see if that changes anything. Sorry for you inconvenience.

On linux it seems to be working for me. I used a bit the easy mode to see the next waves, i'm not that good :smile_cat: I liked the player spirte a lot!' I would definitively include some music in the backgroud.

The art is very polished and feels great. Having a limited count of attacks to clear a lot of ennemies definitely works well as a game mechanic. It's challenging and fun. It missed a background music though.

i love the graphics. I love the motions. I died a lot. Wasn't sure how to attack people. I just seemed to die. If i hit them they died, but i died too. you NAILED the theme 10/5 on that one. I even tried easy mode but the game cursed at me and I died again going back to hard mode. interesting that even this game had a personality tough to beat!

@vinegarlove Did you have all the UI and no crash on death ? That's really good to hear, i re uploaded after fiddling with some settings. I had never built for Linux and Mac before so didn't know quite what i was doing :frog:

@owlycode Man it really means a lot to me when people say they like my pixel art :cry:, I definitely need to find a way to make music, Audio has always been my weakest point.

@commanderstitch DUDE I also felt that when i was playtesting, the last minutts i was trying to figure out a way to make the player NOT die if he kills the last enemy with his last HP.

This years Theme was very :frog: :gun: i feel my game meets the theme goals but i understand arguments against it to. you all make wonderful points that i will take to heart next time i make a LD submission :frog: :clap: .

Graphics are really nice and the movement's beautifully smooth. Using that giant attack to wipe out a huge clump of enemies all at once is super satisfying too!

Really nice looking game, I liked the concept of spending your health to take a swing. Though I felt like the game was very unforgiving, a few spare health points in each round would've been nice, or maybe a health powerup? Overall though I liked it, nice work.

Good job with the game. It felt smooth and was fun to play. I felt like it could have benefited from a different way to aim your slashes that wasn't tied to movement and a way to hit above/below you. Overall cool game.

I really liked your idea of forcing the player to spend their attacks wisely, especially when the HP is based on it. The graphics were also pretty good, especially that attack animation! The sound effect also worked well, although the landing sound could have been more loud/satisfying.
