So, there is some .exe on windows version? Because I don't know how to run de game.

tgb20 2018-08-14 18:08

How do you play your game? The downloads seem to be a project folder. I don't see an executable.

shujal 2018-08-14 18:11

The Linux export is broken and doesn't include a binary :( It can however be run if you install Godot yourself, by just running `godot` in the directory you unzipped the game in.

The game was quite short, I would have liked some levels where the mechanics had to be used.

raccoon-js 2018-08-14 18:28

@tgb20 @rafael-endo @shujal I posted wrong files. Sorry.

rafael-endo 2018-08-14 19:00

Quick game, I understand that not much time to think a nice levels, so no problem, I only care for concept of the game and some part of execution.

For some reason I found funny the art with the music.

Only main problem is the collision with the sugarmen.

Beside that, good work.

PS: You give a nice idea to use classic music for other jams, since many of them is public domain.

binaryspark 2018-08-14 20:29

Very short, but sweet (ha!). Nice work for your first entry!

I did notice that I got stuck on walls quite often. Maybe you could try allowing some part of the player's movement, and ignore only as much as needed to keep them out of walls?

enot487 2018-08-14 20:47

Looks nice for your first LD. It was difficult for me to understand how to use pick ups. Perhaps a clearer description of the Z and X buttons will help. And it would be good to have an opportunity to play again without leaving the game. Сongratulations on your first LD =)

nam-nguyen 2018-08-14 21:37

It all goes so fast! I was just getting the hang of it when I realized I had finished it! Tried it for MacOs, Player gets stuck on the walls, keep the hard work!

raccoon-js 2018-08-14 21:44

@binaryspark @rafael-endo @enot487 @nam-nguyen Thanks for the feedback!

fenderbate 2018-08-15 14:18

Interesting idea that could be an fun game, but for your first LD game it's not bad at all

outstar 2018-08-15 16:53

Good first try! Fun thing is, you did the same mistake with player's collision as I did with my very first jam game ever, which was a platformer as well - both in your game and mine, player can get stuck on walls because of faulty collision.

To prevent that, make sure that collision is always tiny bit smaller than how objects look and make it a bit rounded (add more verticles!) on corners of rectangular surfaces.

This should do the trick! :)

ryanjavanshir 2018-08-15 17:01

I enjoyed this. The concept was funny and the sugar man made me laugh. Great for your first entry!

loadsofmana 2018-08-15 17:27

Nice short game. I agree with some other comments about the collision problems, but overall once I figured out to use arrow keys rather than WASD I got it quickly (I recommend adding both options in future games). The sugar and clock didn't seem to do anything, but maybe you didn't have time to implement them quite yet. Regardless, a nice little concept!

itssaraficed 2018-08-15 17:32

Haha, thats a fun lil idea, very short indeed. Also after i got hit by waves and had the sugar cube. I pressed z and still finished the game even tho I was dead.. << little bug there xD

stopa 2018-08-15 17:58

Great first jam game! We also used Godot in our submission, good to see other people using it. The sugar cube automatically boosting you towards the end mechanic is interesting, if maybe a bit overpowered, although I noticed it bumping me into corners on the way to the exit, too.

nuriko55 2018-08-15 18:48

Simple, but funny! I think if you had more time you could make a really good game!

alex-kurasov 2018-08-15 19:35

It is difficult to pass into other rooms, the hero constantly bumps into the walls

aszu 2018-08-15 19:52

Congrats on your first game!

diaxcor 2018-08-15 20:13

Nice First Try bro

dragojt 2018-08-15 20:46

Good job with your first LD, but the experience was so short, I want moreeeee hehe. The music pans to left, try fixing this for stereo headphone users please.

Nice entry :)

inateno 2018-08-15 21:41

Sadly there are bugs sometimes while taking a block and I die because of that. But I managed to finish XD Nice first entry! Welcome to LD! :D

grahhhhhhhhh 2018-08-16 00:39

Congratulations on your first game! There's not much to this, but that's a lot of us first time around I think, especially if you had to do graphics, sounds, all that yourself. Keep doing jams and pushing yourself, and you'll find yourself happy with your progress.

athena-av 2018-08-16 07:26

Congrats for your first game!! there are some bugs on the game while taking a block but I think if you fix those things it will be a nice first game! keep going and never give up! see you on the next Ludum :)

isaque-picao-sanches 2018-08-16 10:39

not bad for a first try

rend 2018-08-16 11:34

Congrats on your first LD! The idea is interesting, but the game still have some collision issues. I got stucked inside a wall after pressing Z. I like how you took time to make a walk animation. That's a godd basis, keep on doing games!

darthnumbers 2018-08-16 21:45

really great first try! wish it was longer but obviously that's the mood for game jams, also props for Mozart, k331 rondo is a banger

brent-chance 2018-08-16 22:52

Funny how changing the window size changes the stereo output of the music. =)

shinyogre 2018-08-17 00:26

The music was mono at times, and stereo at other times. It seems like the way you count levels completed might be off, because I died on the last level, restarted at the first level, then completed the game after finishing the first level.

As far as level design: there was really no reason to grab the sugar cubes or the clocks because you had to sacrifice time to get them and you might as well just run to the exit.

I liked the classical music though!

huskitch 2018-08-17 08:29

Concept was fun, art could use some work

fivenamefivesocks 2018-08-17 09:02

Nice entry, the game is fun, the artwork could use some refining . Good work overall :)

pickens-inc 2018-08-17 15:41

Cute entry! Got a little confused when I tried to fullscreen it, but realised after I had to play it in the window :) then it was neat! My only gripes were that I got stuck on the corners often, including when doing the sugar cube movement. But a good entry and could be really nice with mroe content and polish.

zuhairghias 2018-08-20 13:32

Fun idea and good choice of music. There seems to be a game breaking bug however where when I use the sugar rush to get to the ladder the game ends instead of going to the next level. I got the game over screen after the first level.

cristihkj 2018-08-22 09:57

Great game! Very cool and interesting! :D

hellsquirrel 2018-09-04 14:04

cool game!
