Aaaaahh I hate you, at the end it's toooo long to get the wanted character, and finally, killed everyone, take all towers and destroy all portals, no end >< 30min playing wasted ><
Ok, the game is nice, we should select characters with cursor.
@BloodJohn I'm on details right now, I have changed the way to count time you should reach higher level easier now :)

Thank you, yes the chesshorse move when you reach 5-6 links is intentional, it's not easy to reach balls quickly with this move so it's a risk for player to play this but if he need 1 or 2 balls and can get it only with this move it could be usefull, it's not a problem to prevent it so I let this move.
About the easiness of the game, I'm on, I mad few tests, I think now it's not to hard and not to easy depend of what kind of player you are, around 5-6 it's harder.

The game is already playable on mobile and tablets (trough mobile browser) I'm on a new version to release it on stores :)
I also changed ratio and arts more simple, and reworking fxs. Of course this will be a version post ludum dare but I'll put the link here for those who like the game :)

@Colapsydo thanks, I almsot finished the new skinning, now I'm on more feedbacks and differents challenge/objectives or combo, looking for something that add various gameplay / objective without changing the base gameplay
Sorry about timer I know it's a bit frustrating but if there is not timer it's to easy to go far far away (I tried some different level progression and this one seems to be great, if I give more time for each pattern it's really to easy).
If you have any suggestion please let me know ;)
But each stars reflect a sun with a solar system with potential worlds inside (let go your imagination further :D).
About time skipping, it is possible because the counter is set inside the Gui that is a newly featured in my engine and I probably mess to uncount time with delta (like I did for scene time sync) I'll fix it in coming days :)
Aw, on the compo version (the first one) I mess something to play the music when it's loaded, so the first time maybe you don't have the music, just double click on mute button or refresh page (on post-compo it's fixed I think)

Ok I played it, look like spore first phase.
You should made a mobile version or make screen bigger on pc because when we are big we cannot move anymore.
There is a bug sometime the second bullet don't follow our position.
Otherwise good idea !

Also, we want to continue this game it was something we wanted to do and the LD was a good moment make something fast (then go on updates).
@digibody don't know the power of your mac, I know that apple don't let a lot of memory usage for browser on iphone (maybe same on mac ?) also it's chromium and not chrome (not exactly the same right ?) so these problems are in general about memory usage, the game run in 1080p (so big buffers) I will upload the 720p assets later, should work better.

Join now there is few people around, the gameplay is quite simple, the point is to use light or darkness :)
Thank you all guys, I know that the problem is to play when there is someone else, I do my best to stay on the game but it's "faked" and I don't like this also after few hours I get borred.
The best solution is to play with a friend (and on skype you'll laugh a lot) you can also ask on twitter I'm sure you can find someone ^^'

Doing a multiplayer game in 72hours or less is not so hard when you are used to it.
Also the engine I used is in native JavaScript so yes this run in the browser.

Is that a LD game seriously ? What a game men ! This is fu***ng awesome, level design is really well designed (especially the one when you have to get the key and come back, make me cry first time).
Awesome arts and sound, the concept is really interesting but more level design would be enjoyable.
A big map with nothing I had to move long time before finally understanding that I only have to camp before the port xD (alos lot, lot decoration all around the sea, but we cannot do any interactions with it, so sad).
And, sharks are really OP, I was a 53 size and get killed in few seconds, no way to go faster than he, when it's on you you can just die :/

Oh I'm now a "bar" yay game is quite faster and more interesting, triangle then square and at square game is finally interesting !
What disappointed me: Hitboxes.
On the "explosion sprite" it is completely unfeet and I died to many times for nothing.
In shmups games already do a hitbox smaller than what it looklike, never the opposite.
No music and almost no arts, I know it is hard to do everything in a compo entry ! ;)
Anyway, the game as a potential, is cool and need more tweak.

But I've got some problems with controls, it's hard to jump when the ball is rolling sometimes it does sometimes nop.

Thanks for feedback guys! @Joschi Controls are quite simple, wasd/zqsd or arrows, space for "action" there is also UI buttons.
There is no "goal" excepted building the world by placing tile, but all actions and ui is not "clear" :/
@drevilbrain you have to place tiles inside the void where there are no others tile. No feedback so it's hard to understand when something is ok/not ok :( that's the first think I have to fix lol

@dumivid yeaaaaah I know XD well, I had the "solo" game running saturday, but I lost to much time on shitty points without documentation. And I know it's overkill but I don't do gamejams to make a polished product, it's good for relaxing and try new things (as well game-design, arts, technical stuff).
I'm sad those points are missing (and will be the first I will add after judgement period) but it's part of the game jam!

@capitals well if you managed to put things so you played it! The ambition is nothing more than "crowd-creation" but the implementation is not "perfect". I'm actually working on a better balance, too much things spawn at the same time and tiles 1 by 1 is also to painful (will do a 3x3) and add a mouse controller to put tiles.
@riptidestudio mmmh strange, can you try a refresh? (check out the console also, and be sure the window has the focus) I just tried and had a problem on load but after that, everything is ok.
@capitals I don't register every iterations but every entry is in database with a date so yes this is something I can do! Nice idea, I will create a dump of the db before scratching it and try to do a "first version timelapse". I added yesterday what I was talking about but want to clean more stuff and balance before uploading, it's way better (just few fixs). Thx again for feedback, I will be commenting here when updated.

I made an update to improve the way of placing tiles, rendering, and spawn.

I found a bit to frustrating to be killed by boxes when I try to move them out, I wanted to use one to push the other but then I accidentaly touched the corner of one lol.
I don't know what is the timer to be rescued, looked like an eternity lol.
Man, to me it's actually the best game of the Jam. Do a complete version, release on steam, success guaranteed lol
PS: A8N-SLI with an AMD 4000+, remind me my first config it was a M2N-SLI DELUXE with a 4200+ and a 8800GTS :D Quite a good config for running win98 lol

Hard to control the cars and understand all the buttons on the bottom right, to much cars coming XD But it was fun to play, nice concept with the theme dude.
We should use the mouse to orient the character, I've been stuck in walls to much time. Also there are "humans" unreachable from the beginning (random generation?)
Excepted those small points, nice idea and realisation, the use of the theme is simple but works fine and nice arts also ^^
Nice! You have to add towers upgrade and rebuild, and also it could be nice if we can preserve the space or win previously lost space every time we kill an enemy (and the opposite, an enemy going through our defence would destroy space).
Wow, I loved the idea, quite unique, nice arts, and awesome theme's interpretation.
As improvement just offering the possibility to control the same fish more than just one click would be very cool (have to click the fish/click the position every time is painful) with a little glow or something to remember which one is active.
Interesting way of doing a game actually, it's a little bit like "book game" where you have to go page X and go back to page Y etc. It's quite difficult and time-consuming but when you manage to be "immersed" it's very cool. Will share this with my boss, he kinda like this kind of stuff! (huge fan of a normal lost phone)
