LD30 — Connected Worlds

Cable Theory by hadesfury 2014-08-27T15:32:00

Amazing art! It just looks gorgeous. I had no clue what to do though :P

Connecting LD30 to the Real World by Will Edwards 2014-09-12T00:58:00

The idea is pretty fantastic :P

Connect with the Dirt by Larzan 2014-08-25T13:33:00

Awesome style and the jump sound is just epic :) But the walking sound gets annoying after a while.

Anyways. I like the puzzle mechanic. Had to restart a few times but that was just me not reading :)

The Ghosts You Left Me by CptDustmite 2014-08-25T14:41:00

Graphics, Audio and Mood were pretty damn nice :P

Heart Star by AdventureIslands 2014-09-12T01:04:00

Just saw it on Ludum Dare to Believe and it is really, really good :P

Connected Sphere by mess110 2014-08-25T12:48:00

the cake is a lie :(

Whiteout by primaerfunktion 2014-08-26T16:42:00

I really like this. Spent quite some time searching this dude, haven't found him yet but I really like the atmosphere this entry has.
The whales made this just more interesting to explore. But not sure if I found anything that indicates a connected world or something.
Anyways, I rated this pretty high :P

\ \ World Shift \ \ by lambomang 2014-08-25T13:28:00

First off, I like it. Atmosphere is just great. The Style totally works for me.
But the controls are kinda wonky. I is hard to tell how fast you are moving. Maybe some dust would help to tell if you are moving or not.

Bipolar World by havana24 2014-08-26T17:12:00

First the bad thing, I got stuck a few times on the line with no enough velocity.
Now the good thing, the bad thing listed above is the only thing that isn't great about this.
I played through and I love it. The mood, but first and foremost the absolut perfect mechanics are just great. It was great load of fun floating around and solving the puzzles.
Overall Top 3 for me.

Cyperspace Connect by Xgor 2014-08-25T15:52:00

Nice visuals

Glitched by Yasho 2014-08-25T11:55:00

I like the gameplay mechanics a alot. It's better than most dual stick shooters out there.

NECLiD by 0x0961h 2014-08-25T19:02:00

There is only one thing that I don't like about this game. I doubt it can be done in 48h from scratch :D

Anyways, I pretty much 5 stars. Gratz, best game so far!

Connector by TeamEagle 2014-08-26T17:33:00

To be honest at first I thought this was a wonderful looking not so great game (ship was moving unrealisticly fast and I didn't know I could shoot).
Then I tried it again after reading the HOWTO and realized that this basically turned me into spiderman in space! :P
I really like the physics and the game in general.

GET Connected by sephyka 2014-08-26T11:47:00

Pretty awesome entry!

Data-Man by Hyoga-3D 2014-08-25T21:21:00

I love the pace of this. Audio is neat as well.

Other Side by Raphy 2014-08-26T11:15:00

The mood in this piece is amazing! If I had to describe it in one word, I'd choose: wonderful.

ORBII by Lars Faust 2014-08-25T18:41:00

Stunningly beautiful!

Escape From Animal Forest by Skyfish 2014-08-26T16:06:00

Beautiful music/visuals and a pretty nice take on the theme.

Blueprint dude by hate-marina 2014-08-25T13:15:00

Art is pretty nice, but I don't like that you don't know where the doors bring you. Kinda makes it trial and error to beat a level.

Peeka Boo by KamikaziUk 2014-08-25T15:49:00

Pretty nice implementation of the theme :P
I like it.

Line Crossing by Lissar 2014-08-27T12:15:00

Beautiful world to explore!

Arched Dimension by Tanser 2014-08-26T12:08:00

Art and mood are pretty neat, but I don't feel the theme. Going through those portals just feels like beeing teleported to another place in the same world to me.

Galilei by Psoeter 2014-08-27T15:15:00

Love the art and especially the chill music.

MMO God by Nichii 2014-08-27T13:47:00

I never got why people played games like this, but this is actually satire version of cookie clickers and I love that :P

Chipset-0 by deepnight 2014-08-31T22:01:00

just awesome.

Jane Austen Versus Slug Lord by hexagore 2014-08-26T11:28:00

crashes firefox and chrome for me :(

Bird Simulator - Worlds Connected by Poo by eastes 2014-08-25T11:37:00

Haha, we indeed have the same style, but you have a lot more poo :)
Nice game, the music awesome.

Enduring Atlas by dickpoelen 2014-08-25T11:17:00

That is actually pretty well done! Just unfair that the dark side has gravity as ally :P

Love the music, it fits it totally.

Planetary Bowling by Akz- 2014-08-25T13:40:00

I really like all kinds of orbit games so you had an easy one on me.
Only downside is that planets are too hard to hit sometimes.

Hex Racer by Kashaar 2014-08-26T11:36:00

Hey fellow UE4 users :P
I really dig the neon visuals of this one. But I am not sure what the goal is to be honest :P

Superdimensional by PixelMind 2014-09-07T20:55:00

this is just brilliant!

Ennaffa by MintArcade 2014-08-25T20:08:00

Great Graphics. Exploring this was actually fun, the lack of audio takes bit of the experience away though.

Shooty Space by Thaum 2014-08-25T16:06:00

Pretty neat one.

Drift Off by DrMelon 2014-08-25T00:51:00

Pretty good, reminds me of the movie Waking Life.

Close Your Eyes by nonetheless 2014-08-25T13:08:00

Best game so far! Pretty much a cohesive piece of work. But cn you finish the last level? I am pretty sure I fly right rought the rot target thing.

Transceiver by AtsK 2014-08-27T02:23:00

Mood and graphics are fantastic! Quite impressive and disturbing atmosphere coming from those inductors.

The Hoverator by Viza 2014-08-25T11:09:00

I like the style and love the music :D
It's pretty well done.

This Little Piggy... by InfectionTeam 2014-08-26T16:52:00

Haha, pigs everywhere! :) Great game.

Parallel Rift by liquidminduk 2014-09-08T00:38:00

I really like the idea and the art is pretty cool, but the goal is kinda meh. Without online highscores or puzzle mechanics, I just don't know why I should keep trying.

Neon Multiverse by maxrebo 2014-08-26T11:26:00

Interesting concept. Played quite a bit :P

Astroz by sputnik 2014-08-25T15:58:00

The artwork is fantastic!

Love you Planet! by Alisher Bekenov 2014-08-25T15:46:00

too easy :P

Protect Both Worlds by Perjoka 2014-08-25T16:35:00

Hi, fellow Unreal Engine user :P I like it a lot. How did you implement the UI? UMG?

Berta by Spang 2014-08-26T11:54:00

Controls are a bit floaty but the music is awesome :P
Solid entry. Sad that there is no win condition (at least none I found)

Conglomerates by A333 2014-08-25T12:04:00

I really like it and played a few rounds. But I just can't seem to win :P
Maybe next round

Escape the World by bogdanmaier49 2014-08-25T11:44:00

It has some issues but I love the idea! With a bit more work on this I can see a pretty nice tower defense kind of game mixed with exploration.
Has potential.

Starpiercer by Schrodinger Games 2014-08-26T12:19:00

Wow. Plays really well. One suggestion though, make it the goal to break stuff instead of avoiding it, since its way more fun :P

Linking by handkor 2014-08-25T21:09:00

Pretty neat take on the theme :P

Solar Buddies by BunkeyInteractive 2014-08-25T16:20:00

haha, nice game :P

but since you make use 4 of fingers on the keyboard, please implement a way to restart with keyboard and will play a lot more.

Ancient Eyebrows by StrideWide 2014-08-27T14:06:00

Ancient Eyebrows :)

Waterfly Octus by gillenew 2014-08-25T13:38:00

Art reminds me of super marios underwater worlds, which is a big plus for this :P
Balance needs some kind of work though. I died at the start of level 2 with no way of seeing that thing coming.

Different But The Same by chriskdev 2014-08-25T13:48:00

Art is pretty coold and your take on the theme is, well, kinda noteworthy :P

World Portals by Keevinw 2014-08-25T12:57:00

Is it just me or are there no connectd worlds at all?

Building Bridges! by JetL33t 2014-08-25T12:21:00

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. Regarding the performance on notebooks. I don't really know. My Notebook and desktop PC aren'ts so far appart, but I can't fix the performance on the book. Must be an unsupported shader or something.
I will look into this.

Regarding the controls. It basically steers like a helicopter. It always "boosts" upwards. But It was designed for gamepad. I uploaded a new versions that makes hovering a lot easier (especially with keyboard) - Windows _tweaked.

The beam can only be used above the ground, it will disable itself on landing. So make sure to toggle it if you are far enough off the ground.

Building Bridges! by JetL33t 2014-08-25T14:20:00

@hate-marina: haha :P I love Kerbal Space Program.

Anyways, I didn't have time to finish the ingame tutorial + my photoshop died in the midsts of the weekend (still not working)

Regarding the hard to control UFO, yes, it is kinda adviced to practice hovering and landing before you go to work.
I made it hard, so the flying mechanics were fun, once you learned how to manage not to crash. Crashing is part of the fun tough, thats why I spent a lot of time on the explosion :)

Building Bridges! by JetL33t 2014-08-25T21:05:00

@handkor
Thanks! I added this as a link!

Building Bridges! by JetL33t 2014-08-27T13:35:00

Hey, I put in some effort to make the UFO a lot more controllable and I hope I succeeded this time. Downlaod Windows Tweaked Controls V2 to test it.

What is new:
Curve driven input for keyboard (which simulates analog input, the longer you press a button, the higher the input value becomes, which gives you a lot higher precision if you tap the keys)
I also programmed a flight computer which helps you to stabalize the UFO, it automatically pulls itself straight, so flipping out of control should be A LOT harder.
It also assists you in hovering, once you hover, you should pretty much be stable and can concentrate on doing your job instead of trying not to crash :P

Trapped in a Computer by elkiwydev 2014-08-27T13:53:00

Nice conecpt. 17 moves to finish :P

A Princess' Request by Dasginger 2014-08-25T13:22:00

Really limbo like. I really dig the mood and style, but the movement could need some work.

connected dimensions by akios 2014-08-26T16:00:00

Controls a bit floaty (web version) but solid and fun game. Played a few levels and I like it.

Galactic Dump by SoulGame 2014-09-08T00:47:00

Games like these make me doubt that they have been made in 2-3 days.
But it's pretty damn nice, a bit too much trial and error, but still extremely solid.
As Mentioned above, perfect mobile game, get it to the storez :P

Parallel Horizons by kebabskal 2014-08-25T20:17:00

Solid 5 Stars form me. Go out and rate some games, so you get more attention for this piece of art.

Parallel Horizons by kebabskal 2014-08-26T16:07:00

Just came back to say that this is still my favourite game by far :P
