Thought it was quite a fun experience loved the setting.

A fun little game. Would have been nice if there was a marker or something for the position the fish was heading to. Also at one point I could make my fish leave the water and fly away. Not sure if that is a bug or not?

htmichael 2018-08-13 15:31

Nice! Game-play got a little boring early in. Not much variation

akaneiro 2018-08-13 15:35

Funny idea, very relaxing :)

danielefisher 2018-08-13 16:13

Very nice!!! I do feel like it was lagging a bit on the theme. I did enjoy running away from the piranha though. Maybe if the piranha grows after it eats a fish, that would help tailor it to the theme a little more. GOOD JOB BUD!!

sinnis 2018-08-13 16:14

Very relaxing indeed !

esmouc 2018-08-13 16:17

I like the idea of saving fish, but I think it offers few mechanics and it can get a bit repetitive after a while. It would be nice to make the game faster, maybe using arrows as a control instead of the mouse.

juke-games 2018-08-13 16:30

@tednesday yeah that's a bug unfortunately. Thanks to you and everyone else who reviewed my game so far, appreciate it!

jakub-kazimierski 2018-08-13 16:54

This s really unique game! I enjoyed playing it a lot.

louckousse 2018-08-13 16:57

Really nice interpretation of the theme.

hi-irie 2018-08-13 17:07

pretty easy game to get a hold of. Feels a little slow though and fishes are super tiny. Overall a great idea and amazingly executed within the time frame we all had.

melmo 2018-08-13 17:24

Round 4: get cool new red and white fish.

Name him Codsworth.

Round 7: get new red and white fish.

**"You are not Codsworth."**

Straight into the maws of death.

harry-jacobs 2018-08-13 18:00

Love this! The fish seem to have a deathwish sometimes which keeps you on your toes. Unique idea and very enjoyable

elnu 2018-08-13 19:00

I agree with pretty much everyone here. It is a fun game, and the fish really do have a deathwish as @harry-jacobs has said. However, I feel that it is rather slow. Also, the pirana's AI is anything but fantastic. My favorite tactic with this game is to let two of the fish get eaten, then just swim in circles around the pirana until the water runs out. Then repeat. Good concept and art, I like the skeleton of LD42!

Really cool idea with the water level descending. I wish there was more stuff to do with the fish in order to escape the pirahna.

juke-games 2018-08-13 19:10

@mertios Yeah the piranha needs to train a bit more  . Anyways thanks to you all for taking the time to play my game :v: !

A Starcadian Tiger has landed on a game called Save that fish! made by JUKE Games for LudumDare! This is what the Tiger says:

Roarr Roar Grr

Yeah, I agree too! Wait? What's that? You guys don't understand? Let me translate it for you!

Translation: Really cool idea but I thought the theme was "Running out of space" not "Running out of Fish"! Haha, I'm joking the water loss was a great idea!

king-kujito 2018-08-13 19:23

Nice entry. Fits the theme well.

red-iron 2018-08-13 19:26

An interesting idea, requires further development

elnu 2018-08-13 19:27

@juke-games No problem! Good luck on future projects and jams!

elnu 2018-08-13 19:28

@juke-games P.S. If you take this game any further, it may be a good idea to add food in the lake that the fish can eat for bonus points.

juke-games 2018-08-13 19:36

@mertios Thanks, that's a great idea! Good luck to you, too!

bog13 2018-08-13 19:50

I like how the theme is used here !

2games2easy 2018-08-13 20:31

Suicidal fishes incoming... :skull_crossbones: This game was intense so :D

g4mr 2018-08-14 00:52

Pretty neat concept. would be good for a mobile game. Only issue is I couldn't figure out the distance the fish were meant to go.

keppu 2018-08-14 13:48

Quite unique idea. There are not many simulator games where you are inside aquatic ecosystem. Fits the theme nicely as the water keeps vaporizing, making the play area smaller. There is the big fish, on top of the food chain and needs to be avoided. I hauled all the fish as a cluster for maximal survival, but things can get difficult with more and more fishes.

There is a problem, if you force the fish above surface, they go off flying. Abusing this bug lets the player use the whole starting space whole game.

Graphics are functional, everything is clear and distinct from each other. The dino skeleton reminds me of some childhood comics. Those old comics use to always have skeletons underground. :skull:

Game would benefit from some music.

pixelformedstudios 2018-08-15 20:43

Really liked the idea of this game, very fun to play. I think little adjustments like selection sounds when clicking on fish. Cool idea!

mrsylar59 2018-08-18 12:25

I enjoyed the idea a lot, it was quite fun. The hitboxes are a bit big in my opinion which makes it hard to survive when there is not much water left. Controls are a bit funky as you have to select multiple time the same fish to make it change its path. I would have liked to be able to select one fish and then move it around as much as I wanted. I liked the fact that each time you launch a game, you have different fishes, it's a nice touch. Solid entry overall, well done!

poffle 2018-08-19 16:17

Nice take on the theme! I wasn't sure what it had to do with the theme then realized half the water had drained. It was fun for a few levels but the clicking got a bit too much in the end. I think it would be a lot more playable on a touchscreen though. Nice idea and good effort! :)

saoi-games 2018-08-20 04:36

Thank you for sharing your game with me. I played it on my stream tonight at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames

I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream. It was in the middle.

You can hear my comments in the archive at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299357576?t=05h53m49s

juke-games 2018-08-20 18:54

@saoi-games Thank you very much for actually playing my game on stream I really enjoyed it, unfortunately I wasn't around but thank you for your feedback!

inateno 2018-08-21 14:45

Wow, I loved the idea, quite unique, nice arts, and awesome theme's interpretation.

As improvement just offering the possibility to control the same fish more than just one click would be very cool (have to click the fish/click the position every time is painful) with a little glow or something to remember which one is active.
