Interesting gameplay mechanic! it was pretty tricky in the last level to not fall. But you can get stuck on walls (dont know if intended). Otherwise great concept!

edve98 2016-04-18 14:13

Really cool mechanics! Last level took quite some time for me. What tools did you use?

solocov 2016-04-18 14:42

How do you turn on the Light (as in the picture ?)

ichbinkeinreh 2016-04-18 14:45

We used the phaser engine (http://phaser.io/). Basically the trick with shifting between the two worlds is that there are two games running that are overlayed, one for the light and one for the shadow world.
Tools we used: Notepad++ (https://notepad-plus-plus.org/), Pickle (http://www.pickleeditor.com/), BeepBox (http://www.beepbox.co/)

Interesting gameplay and really tricky:D
Well done

jhemmings 2016-04-18 20:24

The 'phase' mechanics was definitely very cool! As a few others said though, the last level was pretty difficult, it would have been good to have it split in to two to show off the mechanics a bit more :)

tinyhugger 2016-04-18 23:07

Not bad! I'll admit that I was pretty terrible at it. But, nonetheless, it was a great load of fun! I sincerely hope you win.

flummox2d 2016-04-19 05:52

Loved the light mechanics, but I was terrible at adapting to them. :( Great job! :)

weaverdeveloper 2016-04-19 23:15

Man, this really challenges my spatial sense. Very engaging and well executed. Definitely in the top 5 LD games I've played.

llucile 2016-04-20 00:12

Such a cool entry ! Really nice gameplay idea and graphics. Congrats :)

matzigon 2016-04-20 12:19

Interesting idea, only it's too short. It has nice potential. Well done.

eemmbbeerr 2016-04-20 14:44

Curious!
Would've loved some more exploration of this platformer mechanic, I think it holds great potential!

larzan 2016-04-20 16:29

Wow, nice, thought about sth like that too but couldn't make it work in my head, but this is very well done, thumbs up! :)

kostik1337 2016-04-20 18:16

Nice idea and interesting levels, good work!

lonestranger 2016-04-20 20:26

Excellent game. I was immediately impressed with the simple mechanic that expanded in interesting ways. I think you're onto something here, and with more levels and more manageable difficulty climb, have something to market.

sftrabbit 2016-04-20 23:28

Nice idea (would have been most well-suited for LD30!). That last level was actually quite tricky.

applejam 2016-04-21 20:08

For some reason lights don't work for me :(

ichbinkeinreh 2016-04-21 20:31

@applejam. What browser did you use? Try to use a recent version of chrome

roland-m 2016-04-21 21:51

Great idea man, really enjoyed it. =]

ellian 2016-04-21 23:19

Really short, but the level with the moving lights was actually fun and challenging!

oscar-reyes 2016-04-21 23:30

I like the level changing based on the lights. It was really tricky for me on the last level. Hope you keep doing more Ludum dares :) p.s. my first one too

ludumanthony 2016-04-21 23:33

Short amount of levels, but a great concept. In most games like this the hidden walls would still be there (just you can't see them), which is why this game was a lot harder. I didn't expect it to be so literal.

dvdagames 2016-04-21 23:34

This was a really neat little game.

The light shifting mechanic was nice and level four really showed off it's interesting possibilities.

teamscripta 2016-04-23 15:33

That was awesome! Great job! Really fun and challenging puzzles, especially the last one. The controls felt fantastic too.

My favorite detail is how the monster shifts between sprites as the light passes over it. I have no idea how you implemented that in Phaser, but NICE job!

iceburg7 2016-04-23 21:17

That was a very interesting idea, having the actual level change in ways that the player can't perceive. It does leave a lot of guessing to the player though.

ggaliance 2016-04-23 21:55

Good audio. :D I Nice mechanic, the last level took some time for me to pass... Do more levels! o/

coderjoe 2016-04-23 22:50

Fun, very neat idea! would love to see more levels

guoboism 2016-04-26 01:14

Great game! Nice level design for level 4! Quite potential!

tomlum 2016-04-26 05:57

Truly wonderful puzzles and really fluid platforming and animation :D

inateno 2016-04-26 12:01

very nice I'm in trouble around level 4 but I'm bad xD
Good job

victordoval 2016-04-27 19:53

Very interesting, fun and great sound. Well done!

crimson713 2016-04-28 14:04

Short but very nice game. Great idea to implement the theme. Last level was challenging and fun. Great job!

For people asking about the lights, the lights were always out for me on Chrome for some reason, had to change browser.

axoona 2016-04-28 21:05

nice entertaining game, the gamehas quite a potential, you should defenitely add more levels!

meganukebmp 2016-05-02 15:57

Woah. Didn't expect this. Great game! Sweet mechanics.

ainoraz 2016-05-03 21:37

Very interesting core mechanic!

lereveur 2016-05-06 14:20

A plateform puzzle with a very innovative mechanic, that's the kind of game I like ! With a little polish and a bunch of more levels, you could sell it ! ;)
