Wow!! This was incredible!!!! So much effort clearly went into this, amazing job. Took me quite some time but finished it (I think heh). Love how you have to search all over. Defnitely my favorite entry for LD42, incredible job once again.

I see you have 0 karma points.. Having more makes more people see your game on lists. You should go around and rate/comment on other games to get that score up so more people will see this gem!

merpader 2018-08-15 03:51

Amazing. Great game. only weak spot is it doesn't tie in with theme so good but very interesting. managed to finish it and can't find out what to do with completion code

ryanjavanshir 2018-08-15 04:10

Thank you both! Regarding the completion code: if you have it then that's the end of the ARG! To be honest with you I didn't think anyone would play it all the way through and I included it in case someone did. I ran out of time to have a nice conclusion to it too haha. Thanks for playing, I am genuinely surprised.

I will make sure to play and rate your games!

beelzeboss 2018-08-15 15:06

First time playing an ARG. Creativity is trough the roof. Really cool. :)

afendar 2018-08-15 15:15

The principle is interesting but how does this correspond to the theme?

The work is just huge. I feel to find myself on ouverture-facile.com

monetai 2018-08-15 15:16

WOUAH!! It's awesome!! I'll share it at faster than light speed because it's so damn good! Not finished yet I'm going back to it =)

davidlibeau 2018-08-15 15:24

Wix is really something to avoid, with a lot of third parties. Except that, it was cool.

leonel 2018-08-15 15:28

Have no idea how to start, what do to. what employee ID, what password. Sorry, but the gatekeeping is high

michael-feldman 2018-08-15 15:57

What I like about this is the level of immersion. After a few minutes of reading online PDFs and visiting very legit seeming webpages, I can almost imagine that this is a real company in real need of assistance.

It's very cool.

Technologically speaking it's very impressive as well. All of the layers all working together in browser is huge for convenience points.

Interesting story too. Well done.

johnyf 2018-08-15 16:13

I LOVE IT

This is clearly my favourite game on this ld submission, i just like it. It took me about 2 hours to complete the game, but i enjoyed the process)

Hope you get more ratings!!

raccoon-js 2018-08-15 18:18

Nice idea but I got stuck in the loop.

wujood 2018-08-15 18:40

One of the most creative and boldest games i have seen, not just in this game jam, but of all jams i took part in. You guys have no "keep it stupid simple" policy to help "get everyone the full expierience" but rather tried to be just what this game is supposed to be. A riddle packed inside a story. Awesome job!

paulo-augusto 2018-08-15 18:45

perfect project man, it's beautfull

mrsylar59 2018-08-15 18:52

The idea is nice, Wix breaks a bit the experience in my opinion. Sadly I couldn't get how to get the employee ID and the password to start.

crawlingrevo 2018-08-15 19:27

Cool idea and graphics !

sibi 2018-08-15 19:32

Ha I finally beat it! The generators took me way too long just because of a typo  Awesome experience! Would have liked some quality of life improvements like copy paste and no case sensitivity. Also getting the feedback that the command is invalid was a bit confusing at first. But overall really great! Didn't plan on spending this much time on it but it had me hooked :)

mediyaz 2018-08-15 19:52

Sorry! Fell at the employee ID and Password hurdle 😞 the only thing I can think of is 'Ryan' and 'olympusmons' but that doesn't seem to work. I like the vision and if you let me know how to get past that first bit and into the command line stuff I'll give it another shot

ryanjavanshir 2018-08-15 21:18

@beelzeboss @monetai @michael-feldman @davidlibeau @sibi Thanks for your comments, and trying out my game!

@mediyaz Thanks for trying my game! Did you find the Twitter clues? (Linked from the mars web site)

inateno 2018-08-15 21:36

Interesting way of doing a game actually, it's a little bit like "book game" where you have to go page X and go back to page Y etc. It's quite difficult and time-consuming but when you manage to be "immersed" it's very cool. Will share this with my boss, he kinda like this kind of stuff! (huge fan of a normal lost phone)

cg-fred 2018-08-15 21:41

Awesome concept! Haven't seen anything like that. Feels very real and authentic. What a lot of work you put into this. Still haven't completed the game.

thatsommes 2018-08-15 21:49

Seems very interesting but TMDP TBH

echo-team 2018-08-15 22:18

Unfortunately I can't get past the first login screen. I suspect my internet protection suite is to blame.

acronaut 2018-08-16 00:18

A nice rarity to have a chance to play an ARG! 👌 I wish Unity3D WebGL build is pretty hungry and prone to hang/crash for users that still have too many tabs open (power users).. I played on chrome and it gel'd good! It's a nice touch of approaching mixed-digital media.. 👍

Optional Suggestion: - If there's chance to utilize Twine and exploit HTML5 tags for media, etc. for more options or to execute the multi-screen: controls, hacks and input on tablet while you interface console on desktop screen.. 📺

noahro 2018-08-16 01:10

This was amazing! Super unique entry! I'm generally not very good with ARGs, but this had just the right amount of difficulty _(for me)_!

This was a very fun experience, thank you for putting in the effort in making this work as well as it did!

__SPOILERS:__ I like who marsweborg follows on Twitter, nice touch! One question though: What was the clue for solving the servers on RMWOS (if any)? I just ended up brute forcing them, as it was a pretty quick process.

ryanjavanshir 2018-08-16 01:15

@noahro Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it! The server clue is on the 'hackers' twitter XD

noahro 2018-08-16 01:30

@ryanjavanshir aah I see, totally forgot about that tweet. Thanks for the reply!

rainbow-rave 2018-08-16 01:47

Loved the visuals of the game, didnt expect such puzzles, made me think a bit :D plus for the long play time !

j-carlson 2018-08-16 02:48

Guess I'm not a hacker, couldn't get through the first page, but the website and twitter page were cool

tomg 2018-08-16 02:51

Ooof. This one was a noodlescratcher.

I love the whole realism of it. You built a proper site and twitter page, and even the company letter was excellent.

Found myself more confused than anything else. But I love what you've done with it.

Couldn't quite make out how it ties into the theme. But perhaps it was more evident later on. Unfortunately I didn't get to finish it.

noah-beckman 2018-08-16 03:14

This game is truly puzzling and i am going to come back later when i have more time. Couldn't even get past the Id and password part. lol. it looks like you put tons of work into this and i want to attempt this again. It reminds me a lot like an escape room game. Great Job! Ill be back!

sdrrv 2018-08-16 09:45

Liked it a lot!

ceasar 2018-08-16 09:50

Very interesting!

ignf 2018-08-16 11:34

Blocked at the login page... I don't seem to be the only one with this problem. Any help to overcome this barrier?

ryanjavanshir 2018-08-16 12:54

@ignf hey, what does your browser say when you get to the login page?

ignf 2018-08-16 13:22

@ryanjavanshir There's a message popping up saying "An error occured running the Unity content of this page. See your browser JavaScript console for more info. The error was: Script error."

ryanjavanshir 2018-08-16 13:41

@ignf Thanks for letting me know. I'm not sure what's causing this, but perhaps going in incognito mode will work? If not, thanks for considering my game anyway! I'll be sure to play yours.

josscomposer 2018-08-16 15:05

WTF You guys are crazy, this is an awesome idea..... Still I was stuck at the login page for a long time x) ... And I can't fihure out how to play the actual game, code lines don't seem to work ! But this introduction sequence was really something !!... PS : Any audio somewhere ? (appart from the audio code ?)

ryanjavanshir 2018-08-16 16:07

@josscomposer Hey, thanks for trying out my game! Btw this was a solo project. Regarding the code, it needs to be in caps and the commands are in the PDF manual (found on the staff page at the bottom). The audio code is the only audio in the game (I can't make music XD). Thanks again for playing!

josscomposer 2018-08-16 16:09

Yeah I got the pdf thing, and even in caps, couldn't figure out how to active it ! but thanks anyway ! IF you want some audio for a next jam or project, I may be the guy for it :-)

yetman 2018-08-16 17:21

I couldn't go far into this game (sorry for being stupid) but I am still fascinated by the effort and visual design aspect of this game; The website looks gorgeous and the interface looks great. I will try it again with more patience since the game made me really curious.

mccarlp 2018-08-17 01:12

Interesting. Not at all what I expected.I have never played anything like it.

star-garden 2018-08-17 05:55

Lots of fun! Really neat submission. I enjoy rabbit hole ARGs like these. My only gripe is that for one of the bits of the puzzle (trying to avoid spoilers here) you have to actually have a twitter account so I had to make one just to finish the puzzle. Otherwise a fun experience! 059x894

cristihkj 2018-08-17 17:25

Nice game! Really cool and interesting! :D

ithildin 2018-08-17 21:28

Brilliant game! It was quite immersive (The Wix banner did break it a bit, but I like to interpret it as if the real Marsweb company, an interplanetary ISP, actually relied on that service to host their website, and that touch of absurdity works great for me) and the way you wove together different media and puzzles was really original. I love games where the narrative is combined with gameplay, and you did a fine job.

The puzzles were interesting as well. The main challenge was in finding the information to solve them, and that was super rewarding. After that they were relatively straightforward, although one of them might require additional knowledge that might confuse non-tech-savvy people.

The connection to the theme was a bit loose, but other than that this is one of the best entries I've played so far on this edition (and probably the others I've taken part in)

zicboy 2018-08-18 08:32

Awesome game! I enjoy the art and mood of it. Keep up the good work!

ryanjavanshir 2018-08-18 21:04

@star-garden Thanks for playing! Yeah, that's something to remember for any future ARGs I make! I use Twitter a lot and forgot some people don't use it.

@ithildin Thank you for playing! Yeah I was going to get rid of the ads but didn't know if it was worth it since I didn't think anyone would actually play it. But you are correct, in the end it was totally a creative decision >.> Mars Web only has a limited customer base and couldn't afford to get the ad free Wix subscription! XD

rother-games 2018-08-18 23:07

Very innovative game! I loved how realistic this game was.

digital-bacon 2018-08-19 06:03

Very good! First time playing an ARG, and quite a bit of effort has obviously gone into this. Well done!

darkguardsman 2018-08-19 16:58

Interesting concept, didn't make it too far due to the unity web part breaking. However, from what I could see it is cool.

ctrble 2018-08-21 03:49

Whoa! That was very cool, what a neat concept! Super good design and graphics, and I loved that it really was a "rabbit hole"!

bradleypollard 2018-08-25 14:26

Loved this, glad I took the time to play it even if it took longer than I expected. I am annoyed at myself for not finding the clues for the servers and rads until I read the comments here (even though I - *spoilers* checked the "follows" and missed it amongst the red herrings). I brute forced the servers because it doesn't take long to, but once I saw a comment here I found it and got the rads.

Some feedback would have been nice from the login screen (it doesn't tell you incorrect user/password when you try wrong ones) and the console could have been more user friendly (give a different error for a correct command that just isn't calibrated, instead of saying the command doesn't exist. Also, auto scrolling down when entering commands and supporting case-insensitive commands too). Overall though it was incredibly innovative!

zeu31 2018-09-03 01:53

Very interesting idea! Some guide(or cheats) would be good tho.

hellsquirrel 2018-09-04 13:49

cool!
