@kr4ft3r if it's a jam call me ;-) for a compo, I suggest using synths, like in cubase or some other DAW, (maybe you can practice between jams !) and mix them together with several free sounds you found online, for example you take the start of a sound, the middle of an other and the end of a third (chosen wisely) to give birth to something new :-) For the music, you can do some loops that go well together (you can use synths too) within a DAW again, and then use FMOD (or just your own coding skills) to make conditions for the different instruments to fade in and out, and for the different loops to transition from one to another, etc :-)
