I really liked the visuals of this game, they really made it for me. I had some problems where dead circuits would kill me right as I spawned.

I really liked the visuals of this game, they really made it for me. I had some problems where dead circuits would kill me right as I spawned.
The graphics and sounds really mesh well with the concept of the game. Bonus points for Clippy being their usual annoying self, while also being a subtle way to tell the player how to start the game. The entire intro sequence in general is just a big barrel of humor and nostalgia.
An issue I found was that when the game lags, the player slows down, but the spread of the red tiles keep going at the same rate. I got stuck at a certain level because the slowdown always stops me from making it past a certain area before I'm cut off.
The music is really nice and participe so well to the mood of the game. The intro of the game is cool and it's really a good point that we can click on the folder and pictures, to be able to click and discover some new fantastic pictures. And the "do no touch" makes me laugh a lot.
Starting with the beginning, the Windows XP desktop was really well done, and rather funny, with lots of different things to poke around with and discover. I personally didn't quite care for some of the humor in some of the pictures (mostly the ones with the bundle of wood, a clear stab at the homophobic slur), but the DO_NOT_TOUCH.bat and Clippy were really funny and got a laugh out of me.
As for the game itself, it's pretty simple to play, but every aspect of the game works in conjunction to deliver a really awesome experience. The graphics: amazing. The music: AMAZING. The level design leaves you just enough room to feel threatened by the corruption, but it's still forgiving enough that it doesn't frustrate the player. Overall, I'm pretty impressed by the entry - great job!
WOW!!! Starting off in the interface was a great idea and then having a mini tutorial to get you into the actual game of it. Perfect!!!
Graphics were amazing as well as the artwork The idea is very sound and brought to life with everything complimenting each other. Great Job and awesome execution!!!
Loved the graphics and audio. The levels were well made and I thought that the pipes that the corruption could travel through really added to the game, as they gave subtle hints as to where you needed to be at certain times so as not to be caught. The levels were well balanced, I never got stuck in a dead end thinking "where am i supposed to go", but i also found the levels challenging but rewarding to complete. Great Job. Also that screen before the title is just great.
This is probably the best title screen I have ever seen in Ludum Dare. The game really looks amazing
This game has a nice introduction (Windows XP), that as made in a humorous and awesome manner. I REALLY like the intro and first "escape the corruption" sequence, because it was so well made, synchronizing the gorgeous (and very stylized) art and the very very superb music.
I missed a in-game introduction to "how to play" (if there is any, I missed it entirely) and this keep me a little confuse. I simple couldn't pass the third level of the game, the first one with two corruption points spreading. I don't know if was a problem with optimization and/or my potato computer, but I couldn't play much longer than that... unfortunately :(
BUT my compliments are still intact. Great art, great music, great vibes. I only wish my Data could run a little faster in my notebook. I wish to look up more games of you guys, because your great sense of humor and artistic production. Keep the good work ;)
Very well done! Your use of the theme was wonderfully executed- I especially like the data corruption patterns- I I don't know how you did it exactly (I'm more of a designer-ish kind of person, not a programmer) but they somehow felt like they were bearing down on me and subtly guiding my way at the same time. Good touch. I especially like when, during one screen, you let the players see the exit but walled it off- I of course thought I would never make it because you did such a good job of making everything appear very dangerous, so it felt like a mad dash to the exit and picked up the pace nicely.
Love the presentation in this one! The visual style and the music were great! Loved how it started off in Wondows where you can just play around for a bit then you get to the real game. Fun game too! Great work!
Awesome entry, I loved the graphics ! We had the same theme idea as you during the brainstorming, as many did I think, but you actually got the guts to do it !! Really nice mood, the music is real good too ! I would have loved some sound-design and sfx too, or at least a bit of dynamic music, to make it perfect ;-) Big GG
The graphics are very impressive! The intro was hilarious. I still don't understand what's going on, but it was well made. The gamelay is simple, doesn't introduce any further mechanics. The flooding is surprsingly very well timed, which I was very impressed by. There was one level in particular I had a problem with, it was a series of rooms that was almost maze-like with no indication of direction of where the goal is, therefore it was all up to trial and error which wasn't very enjoyable. But all the othe r levels were very good. Very impressed by the presentation.
CLIPPY ... The overall good game, kinda got repetitive but many games do. I would suggest you add more hazards in the levels instead of just A > B. Other than that, good sound design, Good CRT monitor emulation, And good graphics, Good job!
I really liked this game for one thing, the level design. This kind of game has very simple mechanics, and so it's hard to make a level interesting at all, however the levels were designed well enough to make it flow and easily figure out where i'm going, and it was also fun.
wow.... wasnt expecting that... one question, what were the random blue things? thought they were like checkpoints or powerups but nothing seems to do anything so i beat the game without knowing.. maybe they were markers for where to go? not sure... but wow amazing experience and it has an end! i love it.
Very Fun game, it is one of my favorites so far.
What a game introduction! I like a lot the windows XP loading screen, I thought it will be another closing window simulator, the running game was something unexpected.
