Sorry, there was a permission error. The download link works now!
The idea is very interesting and well executed. The screen-space effects were quite cool (especially the bloom!). I like the entry and the narrative in there.
Keep up the good work.
Summarize this game in a sentence: "Equip every single image effect known to man at the same time and make the player WANT to play." Surprisingly, this works! It's pretty odd, but it's cool that way.
Really liked the experience, what a party! Loved the music and the effects. I like that the instructions are at the start, usually I have to exit the game to see them. Congratulations!
Trippy! I wish there was a bit more variety to the effects. Except for the raining cats I couldn't really tell what changed with every pair except that things got a bit more blurry and distorted and hurt my eyes more. It fits with the theme I suppose but I think it would be cool if every effect was more distinct and unique.
MY EEEEYYYES !!!!!!! :-D that was quite fun !! And psyche ! I liked the music too, good mood ! I agree with sikworm-seatshop ^^ If you want to check out our game it's over here : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/the-darkest-light
If the aim was disorientate and confuse the player, you sure as hell did it. This was an experience to say the least, and I usually try to comment on the gameplay but I'm honestly not sure I can. I feel the difficulty came from the graphics alone, so I was happy at least controlling the game worked well and didnt add to this. With the effects, it was definitely a situation of me thinking it could not get any worse, but then, well, it got worse. Whilst near the end you couldn't even see, I feel you used lighting to guide the player decently. I did find it got a bit repetative walking around the same rooms with the only thing changing being more crazy stuff happening, and I would have liked more core gameplay, but overall this was a quirky game that was really unique
