Awesome Game !!! Easy to understand but still chalenging! I like that stating against average users! Furthermore, the music really sets the rigth tone, u guys really got it! :D
Nice clean and polished UI. Miserable sound effects :) The prose is excellent and it makes you want to discover the different characters. I won the game without changing the default tax setting so it was a little on the easy side. Good job!
The tutorial was very useful. Nice voice acting even though it's a bit silly. Gameplay was challenging and a bit tricky. I got busted by a guard's light shining through a wall. I was expecting the vases lying around to break if I touched them. Could be a nice addition. The slowdown effect caused by some hostages was a nice variation. It was nice that you had multiple and varied levels. All in all, a solid game. Good job guys!
Love the concept and the graphic style. The moving camera makes it fun but it's sometimes hard to fetch items on the sides. The cart dynamics are a bit extreme. At one point, I bumped into it and the cart flew outside the room! The UI is nice and polished. I didn't quite figure out how yelling at the kids is supposed to help :) Overall, the game is fun. It would really get a boost if you could polish the controls. Congrats on the great entry!
Good story! The climax gets built up very nicely. I played to the end. I found the final scene was relatively lite compared to the rest though. I wonder how much of an impact your choices make. The story was a bit heavy for my tastes so I won't be replaying to find out. Anyway, great job. The mood was very well crafted. The color, text and sound effects were perfect in that regard.
Very nice use of the theme. I really like the top ranking feature. I also am also bad at the game. LOL
Very stylish game. I love the graphics. The welcome screen with the snow falling is very enticing. The music and sound effects also fit perfectly. The game physics work well so the gift boxes rebound naturally. I didn't manage to win after two tries so I found it rather difficult. After a while the gifts seem to be thrown at you at an exponential rate! Solid game. Good job!
I could really relate to this game because I have been feeding a litter of homeless cats for the past few months. Now I know it will end badly! I played the post-jam version and had no problems except for the start screen that was cropped. I had to figure out I could press Enter to start the game. The graphics and animations are cute and appropriate for the game type. The difficulty ramps up smoothly but I was a bit puzzled when I tried not buying anything for the cats and unexpectedly lasted a long time. The happiness meter seemed to go up every time a new cat appeared. Maybe cat deaths should make it drop more. The game is well aligned with the theme. It's impressive you used your own game engine. Congrats on the solid game!
EDIT: I got my kids to play, 4 and 6, and they loved it :)
Sorry, there was a permission error. The download link works now!
Cool game. I love the water depth effect. The color style is nice. The intro was a nice touch. I had a tough time with the controls though. Trying to turn while going forward totally throws you off course because of the 45 degree increments. It wasn't immediately clear to me what the ennemies were. Many times touching the gold objects did not increase my score so the collision detection seemed a bit finicky. Trying to go out of bounds restarts the game. With a bit of bug fixing and polish this could be a really fun game. I'm a Blenderhead so kudos for using the Blender Game Engine. Keep up the good work!
Btw, you should change the game link from source code to Windows because it makes it seem as though only source is available.
There seems to be a problem with the package for Windows. I only see a black screen on startup.
