I saved christmas and now I know how santa's helpers feel!

saramartins 2017-12-09 02:15

Hey @ebim thank you so much for playing! I'm glad that Christmas is saved and I hope you still want to save Christmas next year :D

patrick-d 2017-12-09 03:00

I like the art style. Took me a sec to realize I need to match the colors of presents to boxes but after that it was fun!

roaring-cat-games 2017-12-09 03:48

Pros

- Looks great - Audio matches appropriately - Reindeer and snowman are great models

Cons

- Controsl are sluggish - Kept bugging through the house and out to the yard - too difficult to quickly - Stress isn't rated in candy canes ( :) this isn't a serious con, sorry)

Not bad. I can see where this idea coudl be successful. It just ramped up too hard for us too quickly, and the collisions put us in the stables too often.

saramartins 2017-12-09 04:27

Thank you so much for playing @patrick-d, glad you had fun :) We will think about how we make it more obvious :)

@roaring-cat-games Thank you so much for playing. We really appreciate the feedback and the time you put into detailing. We participated in the Jam version, however due to work we only had less than 48h, so we do know there can be more bugs. About the house, we are aware of that, and already tried some fixes, seems to be of no avail unfortunately. We will also look into balancing the difficulty. Thank you so much again!

spiria 2017-12-09 04:56

Very stylish game. I love the graphics. The welcome screen with the snow falling is very enticing. The music and sound effects also fit perfectly. The game physics work well so the gift boxes rebound naturally. I didn't manage to win after two tries so I found it rather difficult. After a while the gifts seem to be thrown at you at an exponential rate! Solid game. Good job!

adhesion 2017-12-09 06:27

Cool! Simple & straightforward concept and pretty good use of the theme. I like the graphical style and the music is great too. Some control issues held it back from being as fun as it could've though - picking up presents was a bit finicky and the mouselook speed felt a big sluggish. Also the cursor still showed up which was pretty weird (I'm on Windows FYI). Would be really fun with some tweaks, nice work!

jasperarmstrong 2017-12-09 06:46

Cool little game. I love the art and the music was nice. You used the theme well. It was kind of distracting having the mouse visible on the screen while playing. Since you used Unity, all the code you need to make that happen is "Cursor.lockState = CursorLockMode.Locked;" when the game starts and "Cursor.lockState = CursorLockMode.None;" when you open a menu. Also, the game started to fell sluggish after a bit of time playing. Otherwise, this is a very solid game, and would be even better with a bit of polish.

tuomo 2017-12-09 07:40

Overall great game with fun idea and wonderful atmosphere. Art style is nice and crisp. Music and sounds build atmos very well. My only complaint, as others have pointed too, is the controls. I found picking up the presents really hard, and stressful after they started piling ;)

doc-ill 2017-12-09 07:43

I very much enjoyed this! The game gets pretty hectic near the end, and being able to make throws at far away crates is essential to winning.

There's only a couple of things I would suggest changing:

First, I would suggest hiding and locking the cursor, as it can be quite distracting to look around while the cursor is flying across the screen.

Second, adding a cross-hair in the center of the UI would make it way easier to aim over the presents and pick them up. I found myself overshooting/undershooting the presents pretty frequently (even with the super helpful glowing effect), making it a little frustrating just to pick them up.

All in all, making dirty Santa trick shots ended up being an experience that I didn't know I needed in my life. :)

puarsliburf 2017-12-09 10:37

This game is really pretty and the idea is really cool. I did, however, find that just choosing one colour of boxes and focusing on that was enough to win the game, so I can't really agree with the people saying the game is too hard. A crosshair would also be nice.

All in all I had great fun playing this, good job!

wolfo 2017-12-09 11:23

I had trouble aiming cause I have 3 monitors and the cursor wasn't locked and whenever the cursor was out of the game's window, grabbing gifts stopped working correctly.

Except for that the game was pretty polished and nice, cute music and concept, nicely done!

yishalee 2017-12-09 12:11

Definitely perfect art and sound. The gameplay is also very focused and big fun. I like it when I'm busy sorting things. Love the sceens outside the windows too. Actually the first time play I thought I'm supposed to throw gifts outside the window and it really can be thrown out so I kept doing it, ending up with failure..... Then I noticed crates. Really suggest to polish the view because it's tricky to pick up the gifts. Sometimes I thought I was aimng them but I was not actually. Sometimes when I point at one gift it took a while before glowin.

cliff-lee-cl 2017-12-09 13:00

Great mood and graphics! (v1.0)

- Need to improve the control feeling to make it easier to navigate around. - Make the presents easier to grab.

Good job!

saramartins 2017-12-09 14:58

Thank you so much @spiria, I'm glad you enjoyed playing. Yeah, the difficulty increases over time :P Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you for playing @adhesion. We are aware more aware of the control difficulties, and will look into it later today. Yesterday after yours and @jasperarmstrong comments we released a 1.2 version of the game, with mouse lock and hide in game. Thank you so much for your feedback!

Thank you @jasperarmstrong, I'm glad that overall you still liked the game. As I said to adhesion, after both of your comments we released yesterday a fix for the mouse. Thank you so much for the tip about the cursor lock! We will also look into improve the controls. Thank you again :)

saramartins 2017-12-09 15:06

Thank you for playing @tuomo, I'm glad you enjoyed :) We will look today into improving the controls, so thank you so much for your feedback!

@doc-ill I'm really glad that you had fun and were able to manage the hectic environment on the middle of the North Pole :). We did already release yesterday a lock and hide cursor fix, I'm guessing you either played the original version or that we put it up roughly at the same time you downloaded the 1.1 version. We also yesterday debated adding a crosshair, but we left it to do with more time today, so we will look into that later today, so thank you so much for your feedback. Also, making dirty tricks might turn you into a naughty boy, but as you're now Santa, I guess it doesn't matter! :D Thanks again for playing!

Thank you so much for playing @puarsliburf, I'm glad you were able to save Christmas and have fun in the meantime!

saramartins 2017-12-09 15:21

@wolfo thank you so much for playing :) I'm guessing you played the original version? Yesterday we released a fix for the cursor lock. I'm glad you enjoyed it even though :)

Thank you so much @yishalee, I'm glad you enjoyed it! We are definitely going to look into the aiming today. Thank you for your feedback :)

Thank you for playing @cliff-lee-cl! And thank you for your feedback, we are already looking into improving both of those points later today.

timestop 2017-12-09 15:21

This was a cool game. Music fits the feel really well. (:

sgadrat 2017-12-09 16:30

It is a really nice game. It would be perfect for an endless mode, with the stress bar but no gifts one.

On the technical side, the Linux version was buggy (unable to move, camera blocked on the floor in the middle of the room) while the Windows version worked flawlessly under Wine.

lorenzos 2017-12-09 17:16

Nice graphics, nice music and sound effect.

I can see the use of the theme.

As the others said, the biggest problem in this game are controls. I also tried the fixed version, but it doesn't change much. Maybe a crosshair in the center of the screen could help. I really spent long time before I noticed the white glowing and be able to pick up presents.

joror 2017-12-09 17:18

Lovely mood - really got into the Christmas spirit! Had a few issues with present grabbing / mouse exiting the screen, but could work within that. Could have made the game itself a bit more diverse, but length-wise it is good for a LD game.

annie-owl 2017-12-09 17:48

Nicely done game. It's great to see that you already polished most of the problems the original jam version had. It would have been nice to have some sort of "crosshair" that would help to "aim" at the boxes, but that's not a big deal.

merdeboi 2017-12-09 20:36

Great mood! Putting the boxes into the crates was little too hard, let me just throw them in with a left mouse click. Overall nice work.

sibi 2017-12-09 20:44

Cool little game. I have only played the jam version yet, but might give the updated one a go as well. As others have already stated, there are a couple of technical issues, But they don't really take away from the game.

I liked the modd it was setting with the music and the overall presentation!

This would be amazing in VR ;)

clemzd 2017-12-09 22:01

The game makes me really stress . It fits the theme pretty well. However, i think the idea is not really original and it's not super super fun to play. Just my opinion ^^ Otherwise the graphics, audio and mood are pretty cool so I think you just need a cool idea to make a super game !

fixedgerald 2017-12-09 22:17

Game didn't capture my mouse correctly. Graphics were very pleasing.

zipp 2017-12-09 22:21

nice simple game, mouse capture would be nice though. Great aesthetics.

saramartins 2017-12-09 22:32

I'm glad you liked it @timestop, thanks for playing! :)

Thank you for playing @sgadrat. The endless mode does sound like a cool addition, we will look into that when we have more time. Unfortunately neither of us has Mac or Linux, just Windows, so we couldn't test the builds :\ Thank you so much for trying our game in another way (using Wine), it means a lot to us that you went out of your way to test it. Thank you again :)

@lorenzos thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed the look of the game. A new version with crosshair and controls is definitely coming out today, that was already added and we are just testing a bit more the improvements on the controls. Thank you for your feedback :)

naali 2017-12-09 23:17

I think you did a good job on the graphics, and the music fit the mood of the game. It would be interesting to see what kind of mechanics could be added to give it more debth.

I have a lowpowered Macbook that it didn't work well on, but on linux it worked great. I just needed to rename the data folder and make the binaries executable.

saramartins 2017-12-10 00:04

Thank you for playing @joror, and thank you for your feedback. We would have liked to expand it more, but being just two to deal with programming and art and in less than 48h (we work on monday :( ) the time did feel a little bit short. When we get a chance we would like to think on how we could expand it/diversivy it. Thank you again :)

Thank so much for playing @annie-owl, and we are deep on working into fixing as much as we can during the weekend! We have just released a version with crosshair, which we hope that improves the experience.

@merdeboi thank you for playing! We hope that with the latest controls and camera improvements, saving Christmas will be a little easier. Thank you for your feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed :)

saramartins 2017-12-10 01:19

Thank you for playing @sibi, we'd love if you tried the updated version as well. I'm also glad that you enjoyed. About VR in facto we did discuss it during the Jam and intend to develop it, as we bought Oculus and want to start experimenting with it. I just don't know if it will happen in time for Christmas :)

@clemzd thank you for playing, it really is stressful being Santa. Thank you for your feedback.

@fixedgerald I'm sorry about that, hopefully you can try an updated version and check if it still happens? If playing on Mac/Linux we don't have any so we couldn't check the builds. Thank you for trying to play, and I'm glad you enjoyed the setting.

saramartins 2017-12-10 01:23

Thank you so much @zipp! We made an update, I hope it improves the mouse for you if you decide to give it another go :) Thanks again!

@naali thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it. We would like to think how we could further expand it, when we have more time. I'm sorry it didn't work on Mac. Great hack with the Linux though. Thank you for going out of your way to try it :)

peachtreeoath 2017-12-10 08:18

Played a few sorting games this LD now, the element that makes yours stand out is you can skillshot the presents into the baskets to be more efficient. It's a small optimization move to do but it feels really visceral doing it and it made this game more engaging than the others since execution was involved. The overall polish is excellent and kudos to your music person for making such a fitting theme!

jaimuepe 2017-12-10 17:56

Damn, this game really is stressful lol. It looks great, and the music fits it very nicely. At first i didn't know you could throw the boxes, which made the game much harder! But then i was throwing them from the other corner of the room and it was very satisfying. I played the 1.3 version btw, the controls were fine. Good job!

ango 2017-12-10 18:28

Pro: 1. Graphics cute. (Especially when I fail an attempt, that's the best)

Con: 1. Now I know why Santa quit.

artur-hawkwing 2017-12-10 21:20

Very fun! It fits very well with the theme, and I love the holiday twist! Everything ran very smoothly for me--great job!

youbestrong 2017-12-10 22:05

Great entry! It's very much in the season, the graphics and music are really cute! I like how the throwing was a lot less simple that I initial thought. I would have probably inverted my y-axis had I had the option to do so though, I'm sure I still would have missed as many in any case haha.

I think it would be cool to have the possibility to set the speed at which gifts are sent in game. Like a speed button on the machine. Players that think they could handle more gifts quickly could give themselves a challenge, or lose to stress, heh.

owen-davies 2017-12-11 00:40

Cheery Entry! I enjoyed the design however I personally felt the difficulty increased very quickly. Though I still enjoy soo many parts of the game! Well done!

saramartins 2017-12-11 01:58

Thank you so much for playing @peachtreeoath! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for your compliments :)

Thank you for playing @jaimuepe, sorry for the stress :P I'm glad you managed to get the hang of it throwing the boxes. Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you so much @ango, I'm glad you liked! And Santa apreciates you taking his place :P

saramartins 2017-12-11 08:56

Thank you for playing @artur-hawkwing, I'm glad you enjoyed and it ran smoothly!

@youbestrong thank you for playing. We might think about customising the mouse and other options, as well as a speed button. It is an interesting idea, but we won't probably have a chance during the week. Thank you for your feedback and for saving Christmas :)

Thank you so much @owen-davies, we might think about an option to balance the increase in speed. I'm glad you still enjoyed :)

spacemonkey 2017-12-11 09:52

So stressful for such a nice looking game ! Which is the intention so very well done ;-) I love the music too. Good job on making a 3D game, I know first hand that it's not the easy choice haha. Perfect connection with the theme too. For real it's exactly what I would expect out of a jam game : simple but well polished. I hope I'll be able to achieve something as nice next LD! Good job guys, now I'm jelly AND stressed :p

lamossus 2017-12-11 10:26

The game is waaay too easy, you can just throw presents from basically any point in room. I also didn't understand how stress works and how exactly is theme implemented. But overall nice little game, graphics are simple but fitting, background song is pretty nice and christmas-y, creates the right mood for upcoming holidays

notspaghettigames 2017-12-11 21:47

The mechanics of this game are simple and go really well with the theme. I really enjoyed the music as well. Making a 3D game with good models during a jam is extremely difficult and I applaud your accomplishment. Over all great job!

maybe 2017-12-12 00:27

I really liked the mood of the game, it has a really good atmosphere. however, I have dual monitors and the mouse kept going t the other window. Also, something like a crosshair would be nice to make it easier to pick up the gifts.

That`s it, the controls were a little clumsy, but I enjoyed the mood =)

creamybacon2 2017-12-12 01:09

Great Job! I greatly enjoyed the challenge that your game presented! You guys nailed the theme, look, and sound of your game. If I had one critique I would say put in some x-mas themed crosshairs to more accurately pick the present. Other than that Fantastic job!

reax 2017-12-12 01:45

Really nice graphics. Fitting with christmas theme, great mood.

Controlls felt nice. There wasn't much of a challenge though, I never received more than 25% on the stressbar. I would find the game more enjoyable if it had more gameplay mechanics.

The music was also really nice, but the "toggle music" button doesn't work (bug).

theloneplant 2017-12-13 05:28

I knew what I had to do right away, controls were straightforward and I hadn't even looked at the game page yet (I play the games first to see how intuitive they are). Gameplay got a bit repetitive, but was very charming and fit the theme well. I think a couple more mechanics to make it a bit more in depth would be cool, maybe have the player able to throw the presents and have parts be a bit like basketball, or you could have conveyor belts and robots to configure that turn it into a little puzzler. The core mechanic is get A into B, C into D, etc. Pretty much anything could happen in between :)

saramartins 2017-12-13 10:15

Thank you for playing @spacemonkey, and thank you so much for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed, and don't forget that your 3D game was also really good looking and polished :)

Thank you so much for playing @lamossus, I'm sorry you felt it was way too easy. We might try to add a way to increase difficulty for different players. The stress goes up the more gift boxes you have on the room. I'm glad you enjoyed it though :)

@notspaghettigames thank you so much for playing and thank you for your kind comments!

pcmxms 2017-12-14 00:06

I saved the Xmas! :D I like that you don't have any tutorial at all, so one have to figure out that each present must go in the correspondent box. One thing, though, is the controllers: Something very weird happens here (Linux build, playing fullscreen) that I don't know if it's a bug or a "feature" :P : When I'm turning my char, it reaches a point where I cant turn it anymore. It kinda breaks the pace, but I was able to do just fine.

Had a good fun with it :) Cheers!

Captura de tela de 2017-12-13 22-03-25.png

saramartins 2017-12-14 10:06

Thank you for playing @maybe. I assume you played the original version? We have a crosshair (with the shape of a little snowflake) and improved the controls in the updated version. Thank you for your feedback :)

Thank you so much @creamybacon2! I assume you played the original version? We have a snowflake crosshair in the updated version :) I'm glad you enjoyed!

Thank you so much @reax! I'm glad you enjoyed even though it was simple. With the time constraints we had we didn't have time for implementing more unfortunately. I will check the toggle music button, thank you for alerting us.

illabom 2017-12-14 23:31

I really liked your game, the graphics are great, the music is great.. All around an awesome game. However, it doesn't have a lot of replay-ability. The first time I played, I lost pretty quickly because I was just confused about what I was supposed to do. The second time I won very easily after I figured out the perfect place to stand. I would suggest adding a little more to do during gameplay...I'm not sure what that would look like because its a simple mechanic. Overall I thought it was very well done, fits with the theme and was fun to play for a few minutes.

Also how did you do the edge highlights when you hover over the presents? I've been trying to find information on it but I haven't had much luck on how to do it.

Best of luck to you, Cheers!

jandourek 2017-12-15 15:56

Fun game. I always enjoy games with a Christmas mood, and the graphics and audio were beautiful. There could always be more challenges, like putting boxes on conveyor belts etc. Good job!

saramartins 2017-12-20 17:48

Thank you for playing @theloneplant :) I'm glad it was intuitive what to do :D We know the gameplay is really simple, but with the limited time we had we didn't manage to design and implement more mechanics. The mechanics you suggested are really interesting and we'll surely think about them (the time we have to implement is the biggest setback to us). Thank you so much for your feedback, and we're really happy you enjoyed it :)

Congratulations @pcmxms! Not having a tutorial is sometimes a bad move, as we had a few players initially confused about what to do, but we're glad that most player figure it out easily :) About that bug, it is not a feature. We don't know how does Unity build differently to Linux (and probably Mac) but that's most likely what's happening. Currently we only have Windows to test, but we're thinking about installing Linux too to try and figure out what's wrong. Thank you for playing :)

Thank you so much @illabom :) We do know the gameplay is a tad simple, but with the time constraints and wanting to really finish something, we kept it that way. We are thinking about other possibilities in improving that. About the edge highlights:

1 - Create an empty game object in the inspector (lets call it HaloObject)

2 - Add an halo component to the HaloObject

3 - Make the HaloObject a child of the game object where you want the halo.

4 - Now through scripting you just have to enable/disable the HaloObject to show/hide the glow. I used a game object with only the halo component because you can't control it through scripting.

Thank you for playing, and we're glad you enjoyed even though it was simple :)

robert-newman 2017-12-21 15:28

nice use of theme and seasonal as well! its cool to see you fix some of the issues people brought up in earlier reviews of the game

Good work all round

hisfantor 2017-12-21 15:30

full screen is buggy sadly

saphires 2017-12-22 18:30

Nice art style, definitely liked it. And lol at the games general premise, poor old santa haha

zanzavar 2017-12-23 15:46

Interesting idea! It was difficult grabbing the boxes and throwing them correctly inside the cases. Also had some bugs when touching the walls of the house. I can easily see this as a mini game! Good job!

saramartins 2017-12-24 23:47

@jandourek Thank you so much, we're glad you liked :) Definitely, more challenges would make the game more replayable. Thank you for your feedback!

@robert-newman Thank you so much!

@hisfantor Could you tell us what happened in your computer?

@saphires thank you so much! Poor Santa indeed xD

@zanzavar Thank you for playing! Do you have any suggestions about the grabbing? About the walls of the house, I think it was solved in the later updates of the game. The controls were also a little modified. If you'd like, give the updated version a try! Thank you again :)

justinooncx 2017-12-25 04:54

Simple, yet surprisingly cathartic game! It's fun to just... pick up boxes and toss them about. While there seemed to be some sort of time limit regarding the number of boxes, I found myself not being stressed about it and taking my time throwing presents. Maybe it's the cheerful music and bright colors. Either way, it's very polished and fun, though I'm sure there are ways you can expand on this idea. Good job!

omiya-games 2017-12-25 22:50

Per Ludum Dare rules, I'll be rating the Ludum Dare submission.

Oof. It's very rough. The good qualities are the graphics and general presentation. It's polished, most of the UI elements are clear, and it's easy to figure out how to play the game, what the success condition is, and what is the failure condition. But that said, controls needs....lots of work (post-jam build does fix this significantly, by the way). The difficulty to select a box was very frustrating. It's hard to figure out where the center of the screen is, and even the box highlight flickers madly, making it hard to figure out when is a good time to hit the E key to pick something up. For a concept so simple, this flaw adds up very quickly.

I also found the box dropping sound effect super-annoying. A lowered volume, as well as randomizing a couple of sound effects would really help. Alternatively, changing the pitch each time the sound is played would help, too.

potatolain 2017-12-25 22:59

Very cute little game, with easy to pick up rules - I like it! The graphics and music were both enjoyable. (also bonus points, I played it on Christmas since I just noticed one of you commented on my game :D)

My only complaint was that it didn't capture the mouse pointer in windowed mode, so it was a little awkward to play. I still managed, and from looking at other comments it was fixed in a newer build. So, no harm done!

Thanks for a fun game

ayame9joe 2017-12-26 01:38

I like the Christmas theme really and the atmosphere.

sugiuro 2017-12-26 10:02

Fun game ! I love the graphics and the music, and the XMas theme is cool :D

ithildin 2017-12-26 12:04

Lovely graphics and cute music! Both feel very polished in general.

Focusing on the game, the concept is simple but it fits the theme well. In terms of gameplay, though, the submission version could use some work in terms of gameplay. Targetting the boxes to pick them was pretty tricky sometimes, which combined with the fast pace boxes would start appearing became a bit frustrating.

It shows lot of promise, though, and I've noticed there have been several updates, so good job!

stratoskakalis 2017-12-26 13:18

I love the visuals and the audio as well as the overall christmas mood that it creates! I can also see that you emphasized a lot of the theme of the jam which i always appreciate in game-jam games. Thanks for sharing your game with me, good luck in the ratings :) !

themonsterfromthedeep 2017-12-27 05:31

The game concept is solid, but is really brought down by the controls.

I found it near impossible to pick up gifts most of the time, and I can't really think of a good reason why. When you're not holding a gift and there's one in your view and pick-up range, it should simply by automatically made pick-upable (i.e. highlighted with the white glowing effect), no questions asked. Instead, however, I often have to move my cursor to just the right spot as a gift jitters between selected and unselected.

Actually, whatever changes you made in the post-compo version made the whole thing a lot more manageable, and my suggested changes are likely not needed.

mr-mcgibblets 2017-12-27 14:13

One complaint: gift were hard to pickup. Other than that I loved to sounds/music/visuals! Who thought that cleaning up your workshop could be so much fun?

zirconcode 2017-12-27 14:39

It was beautiful, the graphics are so crisp and polished ^^ I enjoyed the hectic element of it, the music was good but the loop was a bit too short imo. Great job!

toccs 2017-12-27 19:27

How did you make something so polished so quickly. really amazing and quite inspireing. the only issue i had was with the controlls. Keep it up though cant wait to see more.

saramartins 2017-12-27 22:08

Thank you for playing @justinooncx! There was a limit of boxes on the screen indeed, reflected on the stress bar. I'm glad you had fun messing around, that's part of the joy too! Thank you for your feedback :)

@omiya-games thank you for playing. Thank you for your detailed feedback too. I'm glad that the post jam build improved on the problems you felt about the controls. About the box dropping sound, you are completelly right, it's something that we missed due to bigger problems, but we will check on that. Thank you so much again :)

Thank you for playing @cppchriscpp :) And right on time for saving Christmas! The mouse pointer has had a few improvements in the builds (perhaps the most tinkered of all aspects) so I do hope it's a lot better for players as it is for us. Thank you for playing even though it was awkward :P

I'm glad you enjoyed @ayame9joe!

I'm glad you had fun @sugiuro, thank you so much for playing!

Thank you for playing @ithildin :) I'm glad you enjoyed the mood. It is indeed a simple game, we wanted something really light, and also in terms of mechanics, due to our work, we managed to create just the simple sorting game. The controls have been improved thanks to feedbacks, so I do hope it's easier to play the updated version. Thank you for your detailed feedback, and again for playing!

Thank you so much for playing @stratoskakalis, I'm glad the overall mood appealed to you :) Generally we tend to follow and emphasize the theme. Sometimes we could make something more subtle, but generally we like direct approaches. Can be bad and good at the same time, but if we make enough games we'll (hopefully) fill all kinds of genres! Good luck for you too, and thank you again :)

Thank you for playing @themonsterfromthedeep, I'm sorry the controls were so hard. About the automatic pick-upability, I'm not sure how we'd do that with our current configuration, but it is worth thinking about. I'm glad that the later updates make the game a lot more playable. Thank you for your detailed feedback :)

Thank you so much @mr-mcgibblets, I'm glad you enjoyed the mood! I do hope the gift pick-up feels a lot better on the updated version :) If you had fun, maybe Santa can hire you again next year :D

@zirconcode thank you for playing! We agree, the loop was a tad short, but our sound designer @gtavares made the sound taking some limitations into account, that later were found not to happen, but he didn't have time to re-create the system. Thank you again :)

Thank you so much @toccs, I'm glad you enjoyed! The controls indeed were hard, but hopefully the updated version takes that away!

Haha this was great! I didn't realise at first that you could throw the boxes, and when I came to comment to suggest that function I noticed the controls mentioned throwing so I gave it another go and I had a much better time! I think it would've been a bit stronger game if it started off with a very easy level and then escalated.

Overall this was a fantastic submission! I loved the graphics and music and it was a really fun challenge. I did not manage my stress levels well at all :joy: Great job!

Very nice entry :) the music was fitting, loved the consistent art style. Nice sound design as well and a cute ☃

Well, that was a very nice and comfortable little Christmas themes entry, to the point it slightly disappoints me that I am actually playing it after Christmas has gone by. :disappointed: But regardless, I'll just take it in my mind that I helped saved _next year's_ Christmas already!

I personally didn't find the gameplay to be that stressful, and I even found it a bit soothing. Picking gifts and throwing them into boxes (and sometimes hoping to be able to do it from the complete opposite side of the room) is a simple enough premise and in this game in particular it gets the point across. That being said, however, I did notice the difficulty slightly going up as I played, and it would have been nice if it continued in that trend. Perhaps a suggestion for the future would be to add an endless mode? I personally know I'd enjoy it.

Presentation wise the game was also pretty appealing, although if there's one thing I have to point out that felt slightly off is how the gift container boxes had a realistic wood texture to them when everything else was flat shaded. I don't know if this was a designed decision to have the player be able to easily notice the containers regardless of their position in the room, but artistically speaking I think they would have looked fine even without the textures. The audio was also nice, although you started to notice the loop after a while.

[In behalf of our team](https://twitter.com/WhalesAndGames), thank you for this pleasant and enjoyable Christmas experience. It seems there were some few rough edges with the game at first, but it seems you guys worked them off. We look forward to see what you guys create next! Cheers! :whale:

Thank you so much for playing @goat-toaster-games. Yeah, probably an in game keys and gameplay explanation would have been helpful. Still, I'm glad you gave it another try and it went better. Thank you so much for your feedback!

Thank you so much @pragmascript, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much @behenate!

I'm sorry for you not being able to play the jam version @paveldlouhy. I already said in your post, but if you'd still like to try the 1.4 update now that the voting ended, we'd love to hear from you :)

Hi @saramartins, your game looks and feels good. I like sounds, music, graphics and theme. Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem with mouse cursor in both windowed and fullscreen mode. Mouse cursor is not locked and when it is not in window area mouse click is ignored and is making game unplayable. In fullscreen it is leaving my primary screen to secondary one. I am looking forward to your next entry (LD41?). :-) You rated so many games. I am impressed. See you next time.

Lovely little game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJp29JpDY1Y
