This game looks and feels absolutely amazing! I love the glitch like effect and it feels so satisfying when you gain speed! However I feel the the game would benefit more from the player being able to do something other than just spam 1 button! Overall cool visuals game lacks content. Well done!

@xanderrread Yes, we where contemplating whether to use more inputs, however, given the theme, we deliberately choose to only use one button input (the space bar) very early on in development. Will keep this in mind for future games though, thank you for your feedback!

Having a sweet mechanical keyboard helped me get to plad! Was fun the faster I went and I really enjoyed the audio. Great job!
Hey ! The game was amazingly beautilful !! The audio was quite cool too and good mood ! It was really satisfying to break some speed levels ! Other than that, it seems to me that the theme has not much meaning here in terms of game mechanics and purpose, or there is something I did not understand ! GG !

this game is by far the best game where you spam a button as the main mechanic i ever played.it's really satisfying. the visuals are just stunning. it's both surreal and just badass. the music also really fitting. the biggest problem is that you just have to press the space bar, but that's it! great job!
Love the 80's retro aesthetics, we tried to capture the same feel with our game but you aced it. My only complain is that the glow / bloom effect needs to be reduced a little bit because it is hard on the eyes.
Wow this game was really really amazing! Love the art style, the music, and player input! Took me a while to see how it fit with the theme and really until I read the description I hadn't realized how it fit...so maybe somehow add "running out of space" might help? Idk but I loved that it was just space bar input and i'm pretty sure my poor little space bar has lost a couple years of life cause of this game! Really well polished in all aspects!

@josscomposer Hi, thank you for liking the game! Now to answer your question about the theme: The theme is present over the whole game, but might not instantly be noticeable. We purposefully did not implement it in a way we would think most games where going to. We dit not interpret the theme as some sort of shortage / size of space (we saw a lot of people using that concept). But rather something where you can be, in this case the player is in Cyber "Space" moving(running but with the box) at such a speed that you "break (run)" out of that "space" entering a new dimension, thus being in 3D space and lastly after the credits you exit the game, entering your desktop "space".
ps. This is not meant to be excuse, I hope it does not sound mean, just giving you an explanation in the way we approached the theme.
@monkosum The space bar is on purpose, simply because the word space is in it. We thought it would be funny to solely use that key, to fit within the theme. You can read a similar answer a few posts back.
@exofrenon Yes we have been playing around with the bloom a lot before we where satisfied, it is really hard to balance the effect to give the illusion of neon-ish light being emitted, but still not burn your retinas. On some screens the effect is good (my home screen) on other screens it might be to bright (my parents their screen for instance). Definitely something fair to notice and comment on, thank you!
All of you thanks for the feedback and good luck with the ratings!
It was a blast working on this project.
@markd thanks ! That seems amazing to beat the game then ! I would have felt what you mean then ! What I think is that the theme seems less pregnant in the rest of the game, but it's original anyway ! :-)

@josscomposer That is indeed a valid point, noted!
Of-course every one always 110% finishes a game to completion the understand the deep layers of symbolic lore :^)(joking)

Super simple gameplay but really nicely executed! As soon I started to understand that you could upgrade stuff I got super in to it and I think my poor keyboard took a real hit because of it :(.This game really taped in to my cookie clicker love and I got hooked. I think this game would fit super nice on my phone. One thing I had a bit of a problem was the sound, it got a bit jaring when I scammed super match and sounded a bit crunchy. But if you ad some more death I totally think this could be on the appstore!
Okay, first I thought "oh, someone actually made the game about the play on words everyone thought about".
Then I tried the game and thought "eh that's not too bad for a one button game"
Than I saw the upgrade feature and I was like "oh no"
Seriously, if you guys had not put an end game state, I could have keep on playing it and breaking my space bar for a while. The visual and audio feedback are so satisfying, this thing is a drug.
Well done guys.
(also you had the guts to make the player a square, so he's not even really running at all. Seriously, well done)
Really simple, but man does the art and effect sold me on that
Is it Arkanoid style game? Add html5 version, I'm a big fun of Arkanoid games.
I liked the graphics.
The visuals are on point! It is simple but it feels great.

If the reason why the user interface didnt fit inside the screen was deliberate, then props to you, but if not, well, that's a bug. I couldn't really know what I was doing, and what the half cut numbers meant, so take my feedback with a grain of salt.
I didn't feel like the upgrade system served a purpose at all, just a gimmicky way of adding replayability. Otherwise the graphics are cool, and the audio perfectly fit the mood of the game.
All in all, it is a fun and good-looking game to play, but not enough to keep me hooked for a while. Keep it up!

@grsni If you mean that the top UI gets stretched by the Chromatic aberration and speed distortion, then yes. However, we have got a lot of feedback that users lose quite a bit of readability, so it is definitely a point we will keep an eye out for our next project.
If the image is literally cut out of screen space, then it might be because the game is with a 16:9 ratio in mind and scales to sizes within that aspect ratio, if a monitor has a different aspect ratio clipping might occur (the reason for this is that all our test systems work on a 16:9 ratio, so it is the only reference we could base the game on).
Lastly, the upgrade system is there so that users can make progression after traveling a distance. If a user cant click fast enough and gets blocked by the same wall, he can invest in strength so that less speed is needed to break through it. The velocity upgrade gives the player a higher speed boost per click so that higher speeds can be reached more easily. This is done to push players past the "break point" in-game (which is the end of the game).
However your feedback is very welcome and we will take it to heart, thank you.
@andrey-ugolnik No, not at all, it could not be further away from arkanoid. It is as far away from arkanoid as the earth is from the center of the universe ;). We have not made a html5 version because the ending would not work then as it closes you out of the game (symbolism).
I like the saying that "less is more". This game is representation of that. Because of its minimalist approach, its core mechanics are spot on and its greatly complimented by the graphics and audio. The game has good feedback and responsiveness, a "juicy" game. I was able to put my mechanical keyboard to the test with this fun game. 10/10 execution!
Nice entry!
My poor space bar!
Very nice game, I both love the graphics and the audio.
Nice entry. Love the visuals and audio. Tied together very well. Excellent presentation. I have a split space bar in two parts so it was easier to play by mashing alternatively. Still, good work! :D

RIP My finger and space bar. The graphics looks really good and the game is super energetic. Although the game mechanic are a bit too simple for my taste, I still found it engaging due to both the visual and sound effects and the upgrade mechanics. Nice job.

@the-icy-one Yea don't give up! We believe in you. A spacebar can be pressed with anything. Give it all you've got!

An interesting and innovative concept in terms of mechanics of the game! With a little more work on the feedbacks and a better understanding of the obstacles to overcome, I think this little scoring game would be even better! Other than that, I loved the feeling of speed and the visual effects! Great job!
By the way please feel free to leave us some feedbacks on our game!
This game is so fun that my arm hurts from pressing the space bar so much, but I still like it. ;)
Nice game! I love the 80s vibe and wireframe graphics. I have a few suggestions: I did not understand how the points work in this game, does it have to do with the speed? I think there should be better feedback for that. I feel like the game gets a little repetitive, I would like some more challenges, or something else other than "how fast can you press the spacebar". I also found it difficult to read the UI with the amount of VFX it had at some points in the game. Other than that, solid game!
