Good luck
Nice use of the theme. I really liked the design of the tutorial level, clever placement of the clocks to teach me how the game works. The aging states of the guy was fun too!
Cool mechanic!
I got to level 7 and then it got a bit too punishing for me with the clock placement - not to say that's a bad thing, but I just wasn't good enough to get further.
SFX were solid, music was catchy, and the game was fun, if not a bit unfair at times. Some of the lazers seemed to be on randomized timers so I couldn't predict when to go, and they'd turn on right after they turned off. Or maybe I'm just bad.
Overall though, a solid entry with some real work put into it as far as design, level layout and balancing goes!
Fun to play great mechanics
Hey I found the secret warp! Cool game! The only thing that bothered me was the motion blur. Would be nice to have an option to turn it off.
Great mechanics but the jump is quite weird ... The character does not fall fast enough. But despite that, the game is fun, and I notice that you made a tutorial well explained.
So overall cool game, and keep coding !
You followed the theme pretty nicely ! Mechanics are cool, maybe spend a little more time on your graphics next time !
nice tutorial but after finding serum i jumped through the wall on the left ;) i didn't know what the color numbers on the bars were - i suppose number of the level? so i jumped from tutorial to the 4 and then 6 somehow. And i didn't know what to do with this boxex with danger signs on them. Anyway good job! it was changing to make progress :)
Great use of the theme! I like how sometimes the clock placement presents a cost/benefit kind of routing choice. I was a little confused about the control-panel looking things...it wasn't clear to me what happened when I activated them.
Great idea for the theme and a good quick tutorial section.
Only real issues / suggestions for next time: - Remember to set a death height/zone. If you fall down a pit you have to quit the game. - Unreal allows you to disable a lot of the modules, which makes your baked game smaller. Your download is kind of massive for what it is.
Hope you come back next time!
Great concept and game! Was surprisingly a fun game (in a good way). Keep it going!
I really like the aging system, as well as the sprites. The obstacles were also fun to avoid. My only gripe is that the player feels a bit floaty, but aside from that good job!
It was fun to play your game, really good idea :)
A bit floaty controls otherwise a very fun game to play! I loved the aging mechanic and the music was jammin'!
Its weird that you start floating that much when you jump but stop immediately when you stop walking. And the food steps sounds are too quiet. Fitted the theme well with the clocks and also looked solid.
Pretty funny concept, the mechanics are fun, but the controls weird :s
Good game- great use of theme and nice concept. really liked how you teach us the rules of play within the game.
Nice use of the theme! The controls were a little floaty, but you get used to them quickly.
Nice game ! Fun and cool idea about the aging ! About the gameplay/mechanics, it would need some polish to be fully playable (for instance gravity and directional movements when in air), a bit hard currently ! Also some ground paterns are not really clear, in terms of LD. Aside from that that's a cool game, GG ! (the music is cool too) Go check our game ! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/the-darkest-light
Nice one, i defenetly needs some polish, but its a good start.
This game has a nice core concept, but needs a lot of polish. The concept of having to avoid things to grow old, and your age affecting you movement is really unique and interesting, and it's something I would like to see developed more. The music was quite nice and there were lots of interesting sound effects that coloured everything up a bit more. However I ended up rage-quitting on the second level due to two reasons, the level design, and the momentum. Whilst on ground the momentum wasn't a problem, as soon as I entered the air there was no resistance. I could tap the button slightly and I would fly off into the distance into my impending doom, with almost no ability to stop quickly. It wasn't a fun experience, especially when making slight adjustments. Whilst this mechanic could work, the level design I feel did not compliment it. The jumps needed to be perfect in order to work, and many quick stops were needed. None of the positions of the lasers felt right, nor were they broadcasted well, (the sprites were tiny). I'll give this game the benefit of the doubt however, and I think with time it will improve and be something really cool, but at the moment it feels, not bad, just flawed (I realise I'm saying a lot of negatives, and I don't want you to view that I found this game bad, as I really didn't). It was fun and innovative yes, however there were certain walls blocking my way from truly enjoying this game. I do hope you continue it though, as I see plenty of potential.
Pretty cool game. The aging mechanic is really creative. The music was good and the visuals were solid. My problem honestly was the gravity. It was really low, meaning that it was really hard to control your character once he's in the air. And most of the jump you need to jump right from the perfect spot to make it. Those are my concerns. But other than that, good entry and I hope you work on it more.
I love the level design. I can see that you spent a lot of time and thought on it, levels are non linear and have some backtracking, very cool! I have one complaint... can you make the laser "thingies" more visible? :P
