Very interesting idea. The wording is a bit confusing though, I couldn't tell after 2 playthroughs if I was sacrificing or performing my selections.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD43 → GameDev Sacrifices

Looks great! I wish to play longer, but I have no clue why I'm dying after the second monster. Who makes the music? I like it.
@yaroslav-kravtsov You should check how do sacrificed items change while moving to the next boss, you might have sacrificed something that you couldn't keep working on a game after it.
Music is done by @NikolsaNNN
Amazing art, really like the style! And the music suits well with the game, would love to have your feedback on our game in case you're interested :)

Very cool idea! Good job! :top:
amazing animation visuals are 10/10
Lol nice. Was a bit confused at first but after paying closer attention it became pretty clear what the mechanic was. Awesome graphics too!
This is hillarious! congratulations!
@yaroslav-kravtsov thanks for feedback on my music! you can check my twitter (https://twitter.com/NikolsaNNN) - sometimes I post my music :)
One of my fav so far. Nice work.
That was really fun guys! Keep up the good work, I had a good laugh!
You made perfect graphic, I love it! And choices to sacrifices... some of them (okay, MOST of them) are sooo true, that I'm scared now! I had a lots of fun with this game! But many failures show me I need probably change some of my habits too! XD Congratulations, you've managed to do great game!
you guys rocked with the theme, really great job.
I loved it! EVerything is so good, keep up the good work!
Wow i really loved the graphics and animation. Great work!
Very good game ! The graphics are cool and the story realy deep ! We have a very symilar game to yours X)
Pretty cool idea and nice graphics. I was a bit confused about the gameplay, as I just always died after level 3. I would have liked a reason for that (like I sacrificed the wrong things).
Overall good entry. I have to check out this Pixi.js thing!
I think, some of the Sacrifices are true... But this gives the game a deeper meaning. Good Work!
@drikdrok I agree, when player is running to the next boss we "evolve" things in the bottom part too quickly and it is confusing which one lead to losing (but basically the one that turned red is the reason). I suppose we should have added a thing that you have sacrificed to the end screen (in addition to the "final" reason of losing).
About pixi - this was our first experience with it, so i can't say too much, but still. Overall it is okay, but it heavily relies on using external libraries. For example there are no tweening or timer functionality in the engine, and i've found at least 4 tweening libraries. Its better to know what to use before the jam in this case :) I would still prefer Defold engine for lightweight html games like this one
Great graphics ! It's really cool and original ! But i'm not sure that the gameplay is equal to the graphics x) ! I don't really understand how the game work. I played two times, 1 i choose what to sacrifice and 1 with random choice and i get the same end XD ... But nice work !
The interpretation of theme is hilarious (and painfully relatable), and the art and sound are good, though i feel the gameplay is a bit lacking, not just in terms of complexity but length :P I completed a game, but left game dev D: lets hope that isnt a prophecy!
As a guy who barely knows how to make a video game (I'm just a musician meh), I had some trouble finding the right answers. Well, everything linked to hard work, depression and sleep deprivation seemed to be the good ones, but it could be a lot of other jobs than game dev as well, so I'd say it may lacked a bit of consistency (yeah I'm just trying to find some bad things but I enjoyed playing it). The art style and animation were very good ones, and the theme was pretty much the core of this funny game so good job overall !
Great artwork and really funny idea! :D A little pessimistic for my taste :P I didn't quite understand if there's a tactical way to play the game, but enjoyed it nonetheless!
Nice idea for the theme i liked it :)
Ha! I love the take on the theme. nice game!
I didn't really understand what my task was.. do I pick what I do or what I don't do? I managed to make a game twice, but I don't know, how. I think you poured a lot of thought into the story, but it really didn't make sense, the way it was conveyed. Your music and sounds are very nice and I really enjoyed the animations, they were well chosen. The fonts you used are a bit hard to read, sadly.
Really cool game! The art is great. Good job!
A very nicely made game, but the gameplay is a bit confusing.
Lol, lost the game when I chose things based on my own jam experiences. Maybe I need to rethink some stuff :D. Really like the art and sound. Concept is neat but I wish there was a little more depth to the game.
I literally died from illness by sacrificing my time to game dev :D cool game. neat seeing how the sacrifices change as time goes on. great graphics too
Very nice idea. I was asking if someone would do that. Thank you
@rac-games @flying-dog-fish Thanks for feedback. We made i small update and added it as a Post-LD version, because the UI in the first release were quite confusing. Overall there are no specific goal of the game, except for avoiding the outcome where you didn't make the game at all. But what important is to "minimize the losses" and try to make the game as good as possible, so the final choices would be as good as possible. There is no "points" to maximaze, more like a story selection.
I made a game! But at what cost?
Lots of truth in here.
