Amazing!

I was just having fun staying on the platforms. I didn't even notice the bullets until after 4ish mysterious deaths. could be a little clearer, but you've absolutely nailed the aesthetic.

1:22.5, really nice game, movement feels nice and snappy

I was rubbish at playing this game.

devparty 2021-10-05 20:51

Amazing game! Could only stay alive for 30 seconds though; it's really hard! PLEASE make this into a full release, I would love to play it more. 9/10

tiago-cruz 2021-10-05 20:51

Nice game. A bit of music would have made it more interesting though.

sli 2021-10-05 20:53

This was fun I managed to stay alive for two minutes until I was blocked hellishly. I didn't have problems noticing the bullets. I'd love to see a win condition. I also think it would be fun if there were collectibles. Good Job Overall :)

neat!

Nice idea, having some issues understanding at the begining why i died + controls are a bit rough, but fiting the theme. Good job

staticbits 2021-10-05 20:57

Great game! It's amazing that you used OpenGL, that's one of the things on my to-learn list. I also like the artwork and audio! My high score is a minute and 36 seconds

phlip45 2021-10-05 20:57

Made it to almost 40 seconds! Graphics are great. Loved the little crumbly particles to indicate imminent collapse.

connor-magson 2021-10-05 20:59

Really fun and satisfyingly simple. Best time I got was 1:34.7. I really liked your art style in this, and the game follows the theme very well. One way I think the game could be improved was if the enemy bullets were more visible. A good method I've found is to make them flash (which I did in my submission).

Nice Game! The tiny bullets the enemies shoot are kind of hard to see, and a lot harder to avoid :-/ and would be nice if we could destroy the enemies some how, but maybe that would make the game too easy ;-). Overall, good game!

toppervideogames 2021-10-05 21:00

Very cute game! I found the optimal strategy was to keep jumping to ensure I would always land on the top platform, as it was pretty easy to get trapped. For a while I thought I was taking falling damage, but I think the hitboxes on the enemies is disjointed in some way.

Nice pixel graphics, I do like the upgrades to replenish health and slow down enemies.

Very good job overall!

Funny Game. The controls and the physics are simple, but it's work well. I did'nt notice the bullets on my first game, maybe make them more visible ? Good Job anyway ;)

coda-highland 2021-10-05 21:22

I'm impressed! Even though it's low resolution, the animations are fluid and expressive! The play control is tight, and once I got a feel for it I felt like all the hits I took were my own mistakes rather than being overwhelmed.

Over 130 seconds!

EDIT: Is there supposed to be sound?

qookie 2021-10-05 21:32

@coda-highland Yes there are some sound effects (but no music). You may need to refresh the page after opening it initially as web browsers these days don't allow auto play for websites visited for the first time.

coda-highland 2021-10-05 21:45

It's not about visiting the site for the first time. It's about interacting with the page. The best way to deal with that is to have a button that you click to load the game (like itch.io does) so that you have a guaranteed interaction.

Pretty decent submission, I think some music would have gone a long way to help it out.

I really like the visuals, a cute chunky pixel style, I didn't even notice bullets until my 3rd attempt, so maybe they need a bit of a design rework to stick out more.

Overall very simple but very solid, good submission, great work!
