There seems to be some problem with the screen not updating on Chrome on linux, maybe other platforms too. I'll see if I can fix this tonight.
Pretty fun game! You got a whole lot done in the 48 hours, it shows because of the amount of levels included! Great work!
I did get quite a bit of lag on the larger levels, too. My machine isn't the greatest spec beast though ;)
A few people have complained about performance so I made it about twice as fast with performance tweaking today. I didn't change anything else about the game. I couldn't figure out what was going on with the screen updating thing; I think it is actually a bug with that implementation of Flash.

That was crazy! You had this cool funny song being sung by an obvious human, but the explanation of how the rules work is obviously the work of a robot.
Very innovative.
The applet window is too tall for my screen, even with the browser running in fullscreen mode (my screen's only 800 pixels high). 10" netbooks may only have as little as 600 pixels in height, so you might be better off limiting your height to 500px or so.
The title screen song is hilarious. I let it play all the way through before I started the game. Ctrl+M (OSX) didn't work to mute the in-game music which, while pretty good, got repetitive pretty quickly.
I got a little confused and skipped the tutorial levels thinking I'd already been through the tutorial after the introduction. Even going back through the tutorial levels, I never completely figured out the rules notation. I got stuck in the tutorial.
The in-game music got a little overbearing after a while, and ctrl+m didn't seem to work (OSX).
I love this! It is a very good feeling to try to wrap my head around the text based rules while enjoying the awesome music. It is amazing to see all the variety of behavior that comes out of these simple rules, and then the rules are right there and you can edit them and share them and this game is perfect!
Note: In flash on mac, "control" means "apple key". This was confusing to me too. :)

Interesting! Some of the puzzles were a bit obtuse due to the way the rules have to function in ascii, but it's a neat idea
This is an amazing concept for a game. I love that you can build your own levels, complete with your own rules. A basic concept like "search and replace" has been expanded into a fun and unique game. 5 stars overall!
AMAZING entry. Way too creative. Loved the intro theme and the in-game music. I'm guessing it may be a little bit too hardcore for more traditional game dudes (casual gamers will probably fail to enjoy something like this) but for me it was fun as hell (figurative). Kudos!

What a great game. Great idea, art, execution, concept, story, dialogue. It's one of those rare gems of a game where gameplay is king and the production time was spent not on an a vein attempt to imitate life through an unbearable amount of polished polygons but rather on a new, abstract, transcendent metaphor. It screams its love for the medium, and it's a scream of unconditional, complete love.
The audio is great but it gets irritating after a while.
Oh, and the title wins.

This is SUPER FANTASTIC AMAZING! Love it. I love the rules concept and the fact that it is one big world that gets created by everyone as we go along. I think this is one the few entries I've seen that I'll actually come back to again and again. Brovo, sir, on an excellent game!
The screen had too much height for me, so I had to scroll up and down a little bit. The idea is good, although it did confused me! So much to read :P Music was retro but relaxing AND the main theme it's the greatest thing I've ever heard so far.

-how amazed I am that, so far, no one complained about how difficult it is to understand how the rules work, considering not all of us are programmers.
I love the concept overall. And even more than the concept, how much content you actually included in the game and how the rules were presented. I think you could have made it easier for everyone to understand the rules through more extensive and friendly tutorials, but I guess it's part of the planned experience to make it all absurdly confusing.

Really superb entry. Love the production rules based gameplay, I remember zit from years ago and this is a great homage. The presentation is great in terms of the retro ascii art and sound/music. To have this much content in 48hrs is a real achievement. My favourite is the "slime mold". It was a bit confusing which screens are "hub" screens, since they are made in engine, though this maintains the feel nicely. Great work

Music is awesooome! I just wish there was more to the audio, like having the songs change on their own after a while because the songs are great but they do get old.
I think it needs a cheat-sheet for the rules. I will never remember the difference between ) and (, for instance. Having a way to play levels the community makes is sooooo great. I'd give you +5 community, if that was still a thing :). My only complaint here is that it's very hard to navigate the user-made levels; I kept wandering into the same few rooms and "hallways" and got lots of 404 errors.
